Yeah if Slay can't play then we are in big trouble. If he does I think he can keep Brown in check. But everyone else will still be running wide open all over the field regardless. Also Duvernay had a big 42-yard end around on Sunday so you know they are going to be looking to use that same play against us.

Oh there’s gonna be 3-4 misdirection plays against us cause we get way too aggressive and get hit with it. I’m expecting Jackson to take off for a long run as well cause gerry will do something dumb

Good thing we're playing Marcus Epps over K'Von Wallace!

Lol, great instincts there. Yikes.

Also, what on earth is Mills doing there?

Edit: When I defend Schwartz, this is the stuff I’m talking about. There is no way Epps or Mills played that as they’re coached. How can you win with this type of play? And before people blame Schwartz for it, I put far more of that on the positional coaches.

Or the Chiefs. Holy crap they have too much talent. Someone is doing a great job over there looking for talent

speaking of the chiefs wtf happened yesterday. Offense basically no showed for the entire second half besides one drive. Additionally the defense routinely was getting destroyed deep. I kind of felt like the chiefs offense was good one week and so so the next week so far this season. Just feels like something is off there. Like they could be clicking even better. CEH has been kind of a disappointment for the chiefs. I thought he would look great but he got just 10 carries yesterday. Heck since week one he’s had 46 rushes for 166 yards which is just 3.6 yards per carry. Even in the pass game he hasn’t looked as dynamic

I scream just as much at Epps as I do Gerry on Sundays.

K'Von Wallace was a 3 year starter in one of the most complex defenses in college football. People raved about his leadership and character coming out.

Good thing we’ve ignored drafting one besides wallace over the last 3 years when we had opportunities at good ones.

Bring in Daniel Jeremiah for GM

It comes down to Schwartz plays these games where he plays favorites with guys he likes instead of realizing they just aren’t good enough and moving on. Legitimately maddox falls into this as well. It’s been proven he’s not good enough on the outside yet we decided to just have him as the outside corner with no competition this year.

Good thing we took a backup QB over Chinn.

We didn’t bring in competition, which was an issue. Rasul isn’t a man coverage corner so he was out on default. Jones could never be trusted here due to injuries and overall being soft. Both needed to move on.

It was for sure an issue. I wanted them to move up on the draft to secure jaylon Johnson the kid out of Utah who went to the bears. He has what we wanted. He’s playing alright for the bears right now.

Eh i was in favor of just keeping douglas as a backup simply cause he’s still better than journeyman James.  jones i agree with. He was always hurt and couldn’t rely on him. He’s having success in Jacksonville but I’d bet he gets hurt sooner rather than later and it’s easier to do in Jacksonville as they just pick on the corner opposite who’s worse

could also gripe about JJAW over thornhill or the other 3 starting safety’s they could’ve taken.

It's painful to look at their drafts.  Not only are they picking inferior talent at the position they pick they are picking that talent instead of players that could help from day 1 at positions of need.

I really hope Lurie is noticing these trends.

Someone mentioned Daniel Jeremiah a few posts up.  I would be all for that move.

I like DJ and would be content if they did that but let’s not pretend he hasn’t been propping up some of howie’s picks when he talks about him in his scouting. I get he’s not going to just completely bash prospects but if you didn’t like a move you can say it. He basically liked a lot of the picks the eagles have made.

I think your argument directs the blame to Roseman.

So all I've been hearing all day is Chase Claypool.....TV or radio, doesnt matter.

People are saying he's the Steelers #1 now and go pick him up for your fantasy team.  Alot of hype now for this guy.

Is this kid really good or did he just benefit from playing the Eagles?  Those TDs were pretty easy if you ask me.  It'll be interesting to see if he can continue to play this well or if it was just playing a bad secondary.

I liked him coming out of college.  Not quite as high as a pick as where the Steelers picked him but his size/speed combination was a selling point for me...and so far, looks to be a good move for the Steelers.

I can see him playing out of the slot quite a bit during his earlier years..eventually as an X receiver as well.  Heck, he’s big enough to play TE as well in certain packages, imo.

I think both. Those guys out there having to be on the team is a Roseman thing. Epps playing over a guy like wallace is a Schwartz thing. Let’s face facts Epps doesn’t likely have a long term future here. Wallace on the other hand might. So why do i want to see more Epps who’s shown not capable then wallace who likely gets better with reps and potentially has a future with the team.

Frankly i think claypool was drafted to be the replacement for juju Leaving at the end of the year. Have read A couple Steelers articles from athletic and some just general nfl stuff they don’t want to pay juju as a slot receiver and the plan was to have diontae Johnson, Washington and claypool rotate as they find them to all be interchangeable.

When is Schwartz’s PC?  I’m sure he’ll say Gerry ‘did some good things out there’

I am sure a lot of people in Western Pa. think Gerry did some good things out there.
