We had a massive debate last year, which you no doubt remember, about that.  So you did.

I have no hate for Wentz.  I really like, from a public viewpoint, him as a person, what he stands for, how he conducts himself, and what he says behind a mic.  I also love his talent.  I have zero investment in "being right" about Wentz.  I loved the draft pick, loved what I saw from him as a rookie, and what's not to love about 2017?

I just want a better QB on the football field.  Right now, he's bad.

Honestly I don't remember but I still believe that at the end of his career he'll be closer to elite than bad. first part of the season he was bad, right now he's fine and getting better. That said you don't judge a quarterback by a few games of his career and if you're not willing to admit that the circumstances of injury in the players around him cause him to have to play "hero ball" just to give the team a chance to win then I don't know what to tell you.

You could have just condensed this into "our GM sucks."

He's been content since winning the Super Bowl. The front office turned a blind eye toward the team after 2017. They weren't as critical as they should have been from 2018-on, and as we all know, more than anything, the drafting has been very poor. They've stacked a bunch of bad drafts, and we're starting to pay for it.

I don’t want Dallas to win the division because I hate Dallas. I’m not cheering for them to win anything. But i also understand the consequences That come with that if they fail to make the playoffs. Dallas is highly likely going have a top 10 pick in every round of the draft to fix that defense much easier than what it would be if they’re picking 10-12 spots back in every round. That’s a reality whether we like it or not. It’s gonna happen if we win the division or lose the division as well

This reminds me of when Romo got hurt that one year After being like 13-3 and they were bad and got a top 4 pick. Then the following year due to drafting highly And their roster with the additions they made were able to come back and go 13-3.

That’s a factor whether we want to admit it or not. I’m always for winning a division cause that’s the first goal but i also realize some times winning that battle of 2020 means eventually you lose the war down the road in the future. wanting to win the division And not see Dallas win has its consequences. Call it a loser mentality but it’s more that’s reality of life in the nfl.

This.

Wait someone said to trade for Le’veon bell? Why? He’s washed up and is a pain in the a**.

It's better than that.  They proposed to trade Bell for Ertz and Curry.  Bell isn't worth a 5th and Ertz could fetch at least a 2nd.

People getting worked up about what the Dallas Cowboys do is a LOSER mentality.  Wreaks of an inferiority complex from decades ago when the Cowboys dominated the Eagles.

Channeling the spirit of people who have ridiculous purity tests of fandom... If you're a REAL Eagles fan then ALL that matters is what's good for the Eagles.  What happens to the cowboys is IRRELEVANT.

I really wouldn't care if Dallas wins the division this year.  Eagles blow and need youth badly.  Let the young guys play this year and see what they have.

Also Dallas winning the east would put them in a little bit of a QB controversy if Dalton plays well.

I’m not outright going to root for Dallas winning the division. I can’t do that. If they do I’m not going to sweat it either.

that said, the consequences of Dallas losing the division are going to be there whether people like it or not. It is what it is but downplaying like it’s not significant help to a team who’s been solid at drafting picking in the top 10 is not good.

So do I.  And the start of this season is the final evidence that Wentz is NOT elite.  Show me an elite QB who has been this awful 5 years into his career?

It's unfortunate because after 2017 we thought we had an elite QB for the next 10 years.  Sadly that's not the case so we need to plan accordingly.

So the start of this season is his career? Gotcha. Please don't take the last 2 years playing w/o any talent (injuries bad picks whatever) around him and him still winning games into any type of account of his career. We need to plan to get him weapons, not plan to get rid of him.

I still think he's playing hurt (to some degree).

I've never seen a drop-off in performance from a (near) elite QB (the way he was playing at the end of last year) to what he has looked like so far this year.   No way can you have that much of a drop off in mechanics/accuracy, etc without it likely being linked to some sort of "underlying" injury.    I'm wondering if his back injury (or possibly groin injury) is much more serious than we were told, tbh.

I thought that post was tongue in cheek.  No one seriously wants to trade for Bell lol.

What has he done lately to warrant a new contract?

Doesn't mean he wont want a new one.

I don't think he's crazy like Brown but I do think he's a diva. I bet he'll want a new contract when whatever team trades for him uses him more

I read that trade scenario as a joke

I've been watching him be anti-clutch for most of these 5 seasons.  I've been watching him make bad decisions for most of these 5 seasons.  I've been watching him play reckless football for most of these 5 seasons.  I've seen his mechanics get worse over these 5 seasons, etc.

So yes we do need to get him A LOT of weapons because as a mediocre QB he needs to be carried by his team, unlike an elite QB who can carry his team.

I might be stupid but I'm not that stupid.

I think the concussion messed up his brain a bit, timing, throws, coordination but I think he's getting it right.

If you are saying he is elite or close to it, then he would be talked about in the same conversation as Rogers, Brady, Wilson.  Those guys found ways to be elite while having trash weapons around them.  So your argument is flawed.

Well Dallas not having a top 10 pick is good for the eagles. So it’s not irrelevant. You just want to play the card I’m not scared of Dallas then go ahead. But it’s definitely relevant

i love people with this is a loser mentality. Meanwhile last time Dallas had a top 5 pick they added zeke and Dak in the same draft. You are telling me that didn’t affect the eagles And this division? Come on that’s not a loser mentality. That’s you being naive to the fact things that other teams do in the division affects the eagles. Hence the giants being a dumpster fire and redskins being trash affects the eagles too.

My apologies.  Looks like I am the stupid one in this scenario and jokes on me.  My bad.

 The quarterback that has carried this team. Nah he's not mediocre but believe what you want.

But do we tho? We need a guy with speed that can move when plays break down, THATS the way the league is now and he has zero explosiveness. Even this Herbert guy can move out the way when need be, Russell does it all day, Mahomes, Rodgers etc can all move when things break down. Josh Allen as well.

I wouldn’t trade a 7th for Le’Veon Bell.

That's crazy.  If it was that serious of a concussion, I'm not sure he should be playing, tbh.  I mean...that sounds really serious. (If that's the case).

It wasnt meant to be serious.  But you know how some people take everything seriously.

Nope no more old players, liquidate and get young real talent.

I agree with you.  The people who disagree with you are those that want Dallas to lose just as much as they want the Eagles to win.

The point is what's best for the Eagles to win titles is what a true Eagles fan should want.  Not what is bad for the Cowboys.  Obviously if something is both good for the Eagles and bad for the Cowboys that's even better.
