Some of you guys need to pump the brakes on that Howie rumor. This is all McLane said.

Howie is a fing weasel.

I like chocolate or vanilla

Enough horrendous personnel moves have been made on Howie's watch that I'm not sure why anyone cares about an unsubstantiated report on his involvement on game-day actives.  Who cares?

Someone tweet the Eagles depth chart if you want to get all riled up about how awful Howie is.

Fulgham only waited like 3 weeks. The Greg Ward thing was FAR more egregious. Not even close.

Greg Ward sucks.  He was cut 6 times and generated no interest from anyone besides the arena football league for a reason.  Then he sat on our PS for a reason.

Mack Hollins was 6'4" and athletic.  He couldn't put it together.  It was worth a shot.

Greg Ward drifted to the surface because there was no one else and then stuck because he could run the right 5 yard route and catch the football.  There was nothing eggregious about him being buried for 2 years.  The only thing egregious is that he's the best we have to play right now.

Not to mention, Greg Ward wasn't what he is now (whatever that is) all this time he was waiting.  He was learning a new position in transition from QB to WR.

The response was to whether or not he should've been activated sooner in 2019 which is a resounding, objective yes. Not sure where your vitriol is coming from.

No vitriol, just reiterating that Greg Ward was also undergoing a position change in the setting of having little talent in the first place.  I blame Howie and Doug for many things.  Not recognizing Greg Ward as our best option at WR sooner isn't one of them.

It usually takes injury and desperation for some guys to get their chance and show what they can do...and that goes for guys that are actually good.  I don't hold this one on Howie/Doug.

Why would a HC or even a DC let a GM who has no background in actual football dictate who plays?

There are tons of possible reasons. Howie was crowned the king a few years ago. Maybe he does get the authority? Sometimes that is how it is works upper management. Just business.

I'm not saying this is true. I'm just saying there has been a ton of weird decisions made in the last couple years.

The anointing Greg Ward has gotten in the eyes of some is a sign of exactly how depleted our WR corps really is and has been.  He's, at best, a #5 on other teams.  Here, he's the 2nd best option right now (Fulgham has passed him).  And that's another indictment.  The Eagles' top 2 WRs right now are scrap heap pick ups that no one else wanted.  When Reagor comes back healthy, that might change, but right now Hightower is struggling, Watkins is lost and JJAW is a blocking WR, Riley Cooper style, without the controversy.

How in the world do you get "anointing Greg Ward" from Greg Ward should have been activated sooner in 2019 when the Eagles were trotting out 30% Mack Hollins, Robert Davis, and mentally broken Nelson Agholor? Sheesh.

Who's anointing Ward as anything more than a #4 WR who has been thrust into a role he doesn't belong in because of injuries? Ward has a role on this team and it's not to be a starter. He's there because he's the only guy who can stay healthy. Ward is very competent in his role for this team and if he was where he is supposed to be, which is a #4 behind legitimate starters, he'd thrive there as a 3rd down target and perhaps red zone target every once in a while. Ward belongs on this team, just not the role he is in. The only reason he is there and gets the targets he gets are because of the injuries and JJAW being a total scrub.

Riley Cooper had an 800 yard season... JJAW isn’t even Hank Baskett. He’s Marvin McNutt

Cooper actually caught some passes though.

Cooper was part of the Hall of Fame 7TD game and 27 TD - 2 INT season

Carson Wentz has 6 tds this year Greg ward has a 3rd of those with 2 tds. Which is 1 more than Ertz 2 more than JJAW 2 more than hightower.

Ward isn't a game breaker or all pro but he's serviceable. He shouldn't be in the position he is but injuries have forced him there and he's done well considering.

On a side note russell wilson leads the league with 19 passing tds which is 3 times as many as Wentz 6☹️

Hightower is struggling

Wentz missed him twice for easy TDs Sunday. The pass at the end of the half was poorly placed. It should have been thrown much earlier. Instead, Hightower had to slow down to stay in bounds. An earlier throw hits him in stride as he crosses the goal line.

Wentz also screwed up the throw to JJAW. A better throw and he can score or get out of bounds. But he had to slow down and twist to catch it.  He also missed an easy throw to Miles that would have gotten us into field goal range.

I get crapping all over our receivers is the favorite sport here. But none of them have $130 million contracts.

Also, if you want to see how the Hightower pass should have been thrown, here it is.

Yup. Carson has been consistently late on his throws all year.😠

Random... don’t know why I’m debating this in my head at midnight...

But which WR trio + TE would you rather have on the team right now...

2010 DJax, Maclin, Avant, Celek

2017 Alshon, Torrey, Agholor, Ertz

I thought jones had a solid shot at being the 2 corner opposite slay then he got hurt again and I think at that point the eagles were done with him. Too bad because he's far better than maddox or any one else they out opposite of slay.

Ever since JJ passed the eagles have swung and missed on a lot of corners in the draft and FA.

Glad jones is playing well sad he isn't playing well for eagles they could use it.

I think the CB problem has been a development/scheme issue. The only CB who seemed to really thrive here was Patrick Robinson.

2010 by far.

I know the 2017 group won the Superbowl and I think 2010 group in 2017 could have done the same.

Also Celek was on both teams and in my mind is was a better TE than Ertz. After the eagles drafted Ertz when celek was still productive celek didn't punk out like a little B like ertz has. He took one for the team and became a valuable member of a superbowl team.

I'm done with Ertz thankful for a couple good seasons and a superbowl and he needs to be traded yesterday.

Also agholor was is more athletic than avant but avant wasn't a head case and was a helluva special teamer as well.

Yup and that one season was an outlier for robinson as well. He played out if his mind on a minimum contract after almost getting cut after camp.
