Yup. It’s why seumalo for all the crap people gave on here is actually valuable to the eagles and better than what people think. He’s an above average Lg. He’s not brooks but he is much better than alternatives around the league or even on the roster. Pryor is an absolute killer. Frankly I’d be ok if they just moved on from him. I rather see what sua could do then continue to see pryor play poorly.

Seumalo's problem is that he's a guy on an OL with 4 Pro Bowler OL with him.   The expectations for him were to match Brooks, Johnson, Kelce and Peters (back when Peters was Peters and not the guy we've seen over the last 2-3 years).

Feeling optimistic...

I'm feeling really encouraged by the potential of Jalen Reagor and Travis Fulgham with Carson Wentz. I've been pretty outspoken about Wentz's accuracy issues, which border on inexcusable more often than some on here would like to admit. But Fulgham has ridiculous length (For perspective, he has the same wingspan as Andre Dillard.) and Reagor has ridiculous hops (42-inch vert). Could actually be a nice duo if they develop; could mitigate Wentz's issues in the short-term, provide Wentz some confidence to chill a little bit in the long-term.

Which in fairness is unrealistic. He’s a solid to good LG. That’s really something a lot of teams around the league wish they could find in a third round OL.

Jake missed a 57 yard FG in a stadium in which no kicker has ever made one that long and they bring in competition.  We could do a lot worse than Elliott. If they cut him, he will be claimed pretty fast. When you really get a bad kicker, it can take a while to fix.  I know Jake has his moments, but for the most part he is solid. How about bringing in some linebackers?

hes not like a prime Akers, but Im very content. I feel like he must have some undisclosed injury

Agreed. He's not prime Akers, but in some ways he was more clutch even if Akers was much more consistent.  Maybe it's an injury.  But, when things go bad, then sometimes teams look for a scapegoat. Maybe Doug feels Jake blew the game, instead of understanding that you shouldn't cover a WR who has 3 TDs with a linebacker who can't start in the NFL.

I think there's a second shoe to hit the ground on this one.

Maybe they are trying him out at LB.

Jake is pretty good though. There was a time when he was gold for anything long but had problems with the short ones. Didn't he miss the 57yd one because it was to the right? I seem to recall him making the length of a kick but being too far right

It had the distance but missed to the right - barely.

It might be a good idea to have a PS kicker just in case of a positive test close to game day. If there’s a positive test on a Saturday it would be too late to get a guy signed and through all the testing in time for Sunday.

The idea that they’d be putting this pressure and fn with his head this way over a 57 yard kick in a tough stadium isn’t credible to me. Either he’s nursing something or it’s due diligence in case he misses a few weeks they have their man on speed dial.

Jake must be sick or injured.

That kick had a bad snap also and he had to rush a bit to kick it

I started watching this and after hearing Jaworski criticize Wentz, I remembered how much Jaworski SUCKED in the Super Bowl loss to. the Raiders.

But... how were his mechanics?

The Toohill release really irritates me.  Yes, he's a late round pick and he's probably not going to amount to anything, which can be said for everyone with his draft status.  But he has some intriguing physical tools and the team with basically the best young pass rushers in the NFL saw enough to claim him on waivers.

All for what??  To add Vinny Curry to an already experienced, productive, and deep DE group?

Alshon was literally a waste of a roster spot.  They put him on the roster to not play for the entire duration of his PUP window.  JJAW exists on the roster solely to be leapfrogged by guys off the street.  They demonstrate no regard for even filling their own roster spots, yet they cut draft picks that other teams think have potential.

A number of teams are carrying a PS kicker as a precaution against Covid.

I always remember Jaworski as the reason the Eagles didn’t draft Dan Marino in 1983, so .... yeah, not really fond of him.

It just doesn’t make sense that they’d cut him now. Maybe lack of effort in practice or giving lip for being inactive every week?

But you’d think they would have just cut him preseason and hung onto Jones or Douglas at CB due to the lack of depth at CB?

No clue though.

Love him as an analyst though.

Moving Mills to safety turned out to be an absolute joke. All it took was 1 injury for him to be the starter on the outside again.
