If you get the chance to sign Bell on a cheap deal, you do it.

Depends how cheap I suppose, and yeah he's still talented, but wondering if they aren't all in on the rook.

Maybe you do.  I don't.

Darrell Williams is getting quite a few snaps for KC, especially on third downs. That’s a massive upgrade even if Bell is washed.

I think they needed a big body to pair with him. He hasn’t been particularly good as a goal-to-go back. He’s still on pace for something like 1,600 yards so he hasn’t been bad, per se. I think they need to unlock him more in the passing game. In the bit I’ve seen, he’s been used in a pretty vanilla manner there.

Interested to see how much they spent.

Agreed, they didn't know how to use him. He isn't the same player he once was, but he is still well above average if used correctly

Let’s not pretend it’s a positive thing that Mills and Gerry are still on the roster, either

I'm not caught up, but didn't we trade a 7th for Ridgeway?  We didn't draft him.

He already had his payday. He’s older and just looking for a ring. I think of it like when they picked up McCoy

So if Maddox is back this week does Mills go back to safety?

27 is not 30 something. Mccoy was clearly finished when the chiefs signed him. Bell still has a bit left in the tank

Chiefs play the Jets on November 1.

McCoy wasn't the me-first guy that Bell has proven to be.  I get why some guys do it, but that doesnt mean I have to like it.  Nor does it mean I have to want them on MY team.  Lurie may own the team on paper, but I was here before he came and I'll be here after he goes.  Just my opinion.  But I am glad to see he went elsewhere.  I had no interest in him.

Oh man, he's gonna tell the Chiefs all the Jet secrets...

Who's worse, Nate Gerry or Marcus Epps?

Would you rather die by drowning or poison?

Gerry.  Unless it's a Jeopardy style film room review.

Poison

Gerry is worse

Marcus Epps has made some really bad plays this year, and obviously was the human hurdle in the 49ers games, but overall he's been really solid. His PFF rating is 74.2, and while those numbers can sometimes be BS (and is probably high for him) he has made some plays that stand out.

Gerry is a black hole. The only time he does well is when he is unblocked and a guy runs right into him. This is a film review of Shaun Bradley, but it shows Gerry getting wiped out by a TE, which happens all the time.

CEH has been struggling in red zone carries so far this year and last four games 166 yards on 46 carries. Granted I wouldn’t have done that because I think you’re gonna wind up stunting his growth for a guy who is a pain in the ass everywhere he goes and often get injured when he is playing. I know he wasn’t very good and it might be the Jets there’s also the chance that Le’Veon Bell just is not the same player he was three years ago

Was just checking some box scores on ESPN and saw an article by Bill Barnwell for trade deadline proposals.  Two involved the Eagles.

First proposal:  Eagles trade Ertz and a 2022 6th round pick to the Cardinals for LB Haasan Reddick and a 2022 3rd round pick.

Second proposal:  Eagles trade JJAW and a 2021 7th round pick to the Jets for S Bradley McDougald.  McDougald is in the last year of his contract and would only cost a little under $3M.  He played his first 3 seasons with TB then the next 3 with SEA and played 16 games in 4 of those seasons while playing 15 in the other 2, so he's durable at least.  Has 10 career INTs and 42 PDs.  He'll turn 30 in month.

So move on from Ertz, save some cap space while picking up a ready to plug & play athlete at LB (though one who is seen as having underachieved at this point) while adding a future 3rd round pick.

Dump JJAW for short term solid S help.

I'd be OK with either or both.

He’s actually 28 not 27. Additionally he’s already had a hamstring injury this year. I don’t know what Bell has left in the tank. It’s legitimately been three years since he’s been great.. His numbers are bad this year but they’re actually better in terms of yard per carry then it was last year. Last year he was at 3.2, this year hes 3.9
