CEH has been struggling in red zone carries so far this year and last four games 166 yards on 46 carries. Granted I wouldn’t have done that because I think you’re gonna wind up stunting his growth for a guy who is a pain in the ass everywhere he goes and often get injured when he is playing. I know he wasn’t very good and it might be the Jets there’s also the chance that Le’Veon Bell just is not the same player he was three years ago

A lot of young backs, especially speed guys, struggle in red zone, because they can't bounce.  Hit the hole.

I’m guessing that’s where they find the value in Le’Veon Bell. Frankly I don’t know how much Le’Veon actually has left. I think some of it was the jets but I think he also was eventually going to hit a decline because he was getting older. it’s not like he hasn’t had injuries along the way as well. He already had a hammy issue this year.

Marcus Epps has made some really bad plays this year, and obviously was the human hurdle in the 49ers games, but overall he's been really solid. His PFF rating is 74.2, and while those numbers can sometimes be BS (and is probably high for him) he has made some plays that stand out.

Gerry is a black hole. The only time he does well is when he is unblocked and a guy runs right into him. This is a film review of Shaun Bradley, but it shows Gerry getting wiped out by a TE, which happens all the time.

Good grief — even Singleton looks far better than Gerry on those goal line plays.  The second play Singleton stuffs Pouncey and doesn’t let him past the one yard line, while the guard kicks Gerry out wide enough to drive a truck through.  I’m not sure Gerry even knows where the ball carrier is on the first play.

Was just checking some box scores on ESPN and saw an article by Bill Barnwell for trade deadline proposals.  Two involved the Eagles.

First proposal:  Eagles trade Ertz and a 2022 6th round pick to the Cardinals for LB Haasan Reddick and a 2022 3rd round pick.

Second proposal:  Eagles trade JJAW and a 2021 7th round pick to the Jets for S Bradley McDougald.  McDougald is in the last year of his contract and would only cost a little under $3M.  He played his first 3 seasons with TB then the next 3 with SEA and played 16 games in 4 of those seasons while playing 15 in the other 2, so he's durable at least.  Has 10 career INTs and 42 PDs.  He'll turn 30 in month.

So move on from Ertz, save some cap space while picking up a ready to plug & play athlete at LB (though one who is seen as having underachieved at this point) while adding a future 3rd round pick.

Dump JJAW for short term solid S help.

I'd be OK with either or both.

I brought this up earlier. No to Ertz deal. Reddick isn't that good to begin with and would be a lost cause with the guys around him on this team. Plus he's a FA at the end of the year because his 5th year option was declined. If I'm trading Ertz I would want a guy with one or two year control over at a reasonable price.

JJAW I would trade for a cheeseburger, so whatever.

Yeah, I would want Reddick and a 2nd for Ertz; Reddick is barely getting 50% of the defensive snaps for ARI

I feel like all the guys on the fringe of playing should just be sat this week. Then let them play Thursday, a divisional game, and that’ll give them an extra 3 days before the following game.

The strange thing is that a lot of Eagles beat writers are constantly saying that the other LBs aren't playing because they aren't better than Gerry, yet every time they get on the field they are making plays that Gerry isn't making.

So it doesn't make any sense why he's still out there. At least Singleton and Bradley have some upside. They might get beat, but at least they will make some plays and can fight off blockers. Gerry is all downside.

That's the third round pick.

Ertz isn't worth more than a 3rd round pick at this point.

Who's worse, Nate Gerry or Marcus Epps?

I'm trying to figure out what they see in Epps.  I don't see it at all.  He reminds me of Sean Considine.

Epps is trash

The thing with gerry everyone was willing to give up a little in the run game because as a safety he would make up for it in pass coverage yet his pass coverage has been horrendous. So if we all concede he's a liability against the run and he ends up being a liability against the pass as well then whats the point of having him on the field???

I like Bradley, if I remember the tv feed picked up him dropping an F bomb on one of the above plays😄 guess something that is more difficult to mute out when no interfering crowd noise.

Like what I've seen from bradley in limited snaps. Guy had a pretty good combine I'm not sure what the knocks are on him but seems his instincts are better than Gerry's.

So if Maddox is back this week does Mills go back to safety?

HoPefully though maddox was pretty bad before leaving.

Didnt see this posted. Dudes a beast and I doubt stepping away soon if this is his attitude.

This. So much this. How was this guy even a safety in college?

Yeah, like what Gase snorts before pressers...😵

Nope. Like watching Gerry or Epps, its a slow, agonizing pain that you ask yourself every week "Oh my god, when will this end?”

It's odd because he was a good safety in college but the thought was too slow for safety in pros. Maybe could have been a box safety 20 years ago but not in this nfl era.

Playing LB especially MLB is so much different and sure the coaches say he's smart yet he obviously doesn't have the instincts for it nor the physicality. He's barely big enough to be an OLB putting him at MLB is just asking for trouble from a physical standpoint from an instinctual and mental stand point it's a big ask.

Gerry wasn't all pro last year but being next to an experienced LB in bradham he didn't have as much responsibility and played better than this year.

Schwartz putting  gerry as his 3 down green dot backer has shown to be a mistake.

I'd say number one priority for this team going into next year is MLB.

Where is Sam Lynch when I need him? I had thought that if a guy is cut, all his dead cap money hits at once. Well, it explains why I didn't buy Berkshire Hathaway in 1970 at $6.75 a share.

I was in insurance and didn’t buy Warren. Oh well.  If a person is cut his dead money from spread bonuses hit with some exceptions like June 1.

Surely you aren't trying to say that receivers losing a ball in the air is somehow a Wentz issue.

I'm saying I don't hear other receivers from other teams say it of their QB.

DeSean doesn't say it.  Alshon never said it.  Torrey Smith didn't say it.  But the guy that dropped dimes does.  Hmmmm?
