Was just checking some box scores on ESPN and saw an article by Bill Barnwell for trade deadline proposals.  Two involved the Eagles.

First proposal:  Eagles trade Ertz and a 2022 6th round pick to the Cardinals for LB Haasan Reddick and a 2022 3rd round pick.

Second proposal:  Eagles trade JJAW and a 2021 7th round pick to the Jets for S Bradley McDougald.  McDougald is in the last year of his contract and would only cost a little under $3M.  He played his first 3 seasons with TB then the next 3 with SEA and played 16 games in 4 of those seasons while playing 15 in the other 2, so he's durable at least.  Has 10 career INTs and 42 PDs.  He'll turn 30 in month.

So move on from Ertz, save some cap space while picking up a ready to plug & play athlete at LB (though one who is seen as having underachieved at this point) while adding a future 3rd round pick.

Dump JJAW for short term solid S help.

I'd be OK with either or both.

Reddick is a 1st round JJAW.  30 year old safety?  Meh, neither trade moves the needle for me, but the Ertz especially not as  Reddick is not good and the 6th becomes a 5th if Ertz signs.  So Ertz and a 5th for a 3rd plus a guy who isn't good? Highway robbery by the Cardinals.

Found out the youth football that has been keeping me from seeing eagles games this season is paying at least 20k for athletic trainers at their games. I haven't made a dollar.

you must really suck at it

What is this mysterious "illness"?

Alshon, even slowed, was pretty good last year when he was on the field.  Big bodies, route running and catching the ball with your hands makes it much easier to do the work that our WRs haven't been able to do in recent years.

I watched the pass to Hightower that turned the tide of the game in Washington went for an interception and return to inside the 10...  Hightower ran the button hook, and then waited for the ball to come to him.  The DB jumped the route.  Hightower gets outmuscled for the ball.  Big play for the defense.  Wentz gets crucified.  Watch it again and look at the difference that could have been if Hightower did the right thing, ran a 10 yard route and worked BACK to his QB and the ball... he cuts off the DB's path, and likely makes the reception.

His passiveness is what lead to that INT.  Button hook, two steps to the QB and its an easy pitch and catch.  Likely should have been a 10 yard button hook, Hightower cuts it off at 8... then waits on the ball.

I said this right after the game and some people didn't like my take on it

McCoy wasn't the me-first guy that Bell has proven to be.  I get why some guys do it, but that doesnt mean I have to like it.  Nor does it mean I have to want them on MY team.  Lurie may own the team on paper, but I was here before he came and I'll be here after he goes.  Just my opinion.  But I am glad to see he went elsewhere.  I had no interest in him.

I understand this point of view, but I think we need the help

An observation. A comment. A "I am just saying".

We need help, sure.  Is selfishness helpful?  Is more anonymous source stuff helpful?  Ckmplaining about not gettin ng the ball enough?  Nah, the good doesnt outweigh fhe rest.

The receivers saying it is the issue.  Sounds to me like they are looking for an excuse for sucking.   You seem to be blaming the wrong person in this scenario.

But maybe if Carson petitions the league they'll let him add some flashing lights to the ball so his receivers can see it better.

And Im sure you read as much information about all 31 other teams to know what their WRs are being quoted as saying.   This is a classic case of confirmation bias.

I based it off of 2 WRs who have played with the same QB. That's all.

So report is Colts have several positive tests. What week does everyone think the whole league shuts down?

Because it's deflection for a throw that was soft and slow, at best you can say the DB made a good play, watch the first play on that video, it's Fulgham running a stop and turn and standing waiting for a ball, the difference is the defender hasn't turned back with him and the throw is better. For what it's worth there have been plays from DJAX where he absolutely has let the play be broken up by playing soft.

Watch the throws Hightower got against Washington, they're pretty much all those sorts of throws that leave apologists on here saying 'an NFL level receiver catches that' as if that excuses throws that a receiver had go through his hands as he was laid out diving trying to catch one that was too far in front,  trying to run bent double to catch a pass that's too low or having his kidneys lacerated by a safety trying to catch a ball that's 3 ft over his head.

Wentz has almost made a career out of hitting fingertips with errant throws and having people blame the receivers regardless of the effort needed to get the hand there to touch a ball that by definition wasn't where it was supposed to be.

There's a universally accepted truth on here that the most popular QB in Philly is the back up, but I see posters on here who absolutely slate QB's with better resumes than Wentz as bad QB's while constantly posting on here that Wentz's struggles are ALWAYS the fault of receivers, and yes I absolutely accept that all QB's make the odd bad throw, but Wentz makes more than most paid at his level.

They'll keep it going to the bitter end at this point unless someone dies, or a star player suffers one of these Long COVID slow recoveries that seem to be happening.

One who has never shown the ability to track a football over the shoulder, and had a massive case of the drops like no one this city has seen before... and now a rookie with a case of the drops.

Ok.

Don't forget about Pinkston claiming it back in the day.

Yes, please watch those throws that hit Hightower in both hands as he crosses the middle and not catch them.

Well if you were one of the ones that disagreed with me you would have seen that my post said that it wasn't a good throw but he could have fought a little harder to get the ball.  While we're talking about it I believe you to be a Wentz hater and always looking to pin the blame on him and saying things like "Wentz has almost made a career out of hitting fingertips with errant throws" and "Wentz makes more bad throws than most paid at his level" . Helps to prove my point. You base this on nothing but emotion and gut.

Your gut wants to blame Wentz other's guts wants to blame the receiver. My gut tell me it's a bit of both especially when Wentz hasn't played with a talented starting receiver since what early 2018?

Yup.   Wentz hasn't been good.   But, playing musical chairs with his WRs, and now with the OL too... that doesn't make it an easier on the guy.  I'd like to see the list of QBs in the NFL that have had to deal with that many different targets in that short a span.
