That play was doomed to failure as soon as it was called... because he's gone to that well too often.   Its not about 'some plays fail', some plays are doomed to fail, even 'good plays', when you go to the well too many times, like that.  Its called 'tendencies' and defenses study those and know what to expect.  So... it was not good process, because its the same process as the last umpteenth time.  They need to run a changeup off of it, or put different window dressing on it.
