I think you can blame 85% of the issues on RG.  Mailata is still playing respectable at LT.  Herbig has done some nice things.  They are just destroying RG.

I keep trying to watch Mailata to see how he looks, but Brown is such a sieve the plays breakdown after one second

That's only 1 scenario.  Going for 2 on the 1st TD puts you in position to win 50% of the time w/a single TD if you make the 2.  It's roughly 50% conversion so use that to simplify the math.

25% of the time you miss the 2pt and hit the 2nd pt to tie.

25% of the time you miss both 2pts and then need another score.

So 50% of the time you come out ahead, 25% you come out even, and 25% you come out behind.

That's why you always go for the 2 in that situation.
