That’s not at all the argument I made.

"The season is over in part because of his poor preseason play."

What point are you making then?   The team isn't going anywhere, yet they are very much in the middle of the playoff race in the NFC East, through no fault of their own, but its true.  So,if he gets on track at the end of the season, the reason this team is going no where isn't on him... its on all the pieces around him.  So, please... explain the point you were making.

Just to be clear, my criticism of Wentz’s play early in the season is not an endorsement of benching him for Hurts.

Oh that wasn't directed at you. But the cries for Hurts the boy wonder are very loud.

Wentz is back to top 7 at least

I have to admit though I am curious how Hurts would look. He was elusive as hell on some of those runs. I just wanna see how he looks as a passer and that's irrespective to anything having to do with Wentz.

The fact that Howie even made this a thing is a joke to begin with. It was such a wasted pick. He's gotta Fing go, can't say it enough.

Interesting 2nd half. Amazing how often Hightower is running along behind secondarys. Wonder what his issue is with catching the ball these days.

Rinjured Rodgers and Croom showed up on the highlights. No Ertz.

It looked like Baltimore had trouble blocking our DL. Lots of holding calls, pressure on Jackson.

Somoene on our OL had trouble with Jihad Ward it seems.

Seems like Wentz played pretty darn well.

We need a playmaker somewhere on D. LB, CB.... this team needs to start creating turnovers somehow.

Gutsy game by Wentz, out there with 4 back ups at OL throwing to a bunch  back up receivers with a defense that has zero LBs a coach that makes calls that take points off the board and still only loses by two.

The fumble wasn't good but the ravens made a good play holding him up and stripping the ball.

I'll take today's Carson Wentz any game!

2 o-lineman were backups to the backups , RG AND RT

Yes we are.  Either that or we're totally crippled by injuries.  We're not a contender, we're not good, and we're going nowhere this season.

And despite all that, we’re not rebuilding. That’s the problem.

We’re at 1-4-1 in part (again I said in part) because of his struggles. If we were 3-3 the outlook of the season is different than at 1-4-1. We would be talking about staying afloat despite an insane number of injuries. Instead we’re looking at maybe winning a completely garbage division with 5 or 6 wins. Winning the division that way is completely pointless. In fact, it does more harm than good.

Oh, cripes, the division lead argument at at 1-2-1 as if that’s something to hang our hat on. Mathematically the season isn’t over, but this team is going nowhere.

The only thing I am hoping for this season is for Wentz to complete his second straight 16-game season, Fulgham to continue to develop and prove that he can be a 2021 starter, and for Reagor to come back and at least show that they were right in picking him. If they get those three things and this team only wins 5-6 games, I'm okay with that. Because I think that's realistically where they end up between the injuries on offense and how poor this defense is.

Even with emergence of Fulgham & Reagor coming back soon, I still think WR needs to be addressed day 1 or day 2 of draft next year

Why?  Let’s say that Reagor proves to be a first round quality Z and Fulgham proves to be a solid X.  That JJAW and Quez proves to be viable backups at X and Z and Hightower proves to be a viable back up at all three positions (a true number four game day active WR).  I feel Ward is developing into a mid level slot WR.  It is way too early in their careers to give up on Hightower or Watkins.  WR is not a top four position of need on this team. (CB, LB, DE, S and IOL).  Take the BPA but the ranking for need in structuring the value on the draft board may well, at the end of the season place WR lower than an absolute third round or better choice.

Philly sports is so painfully awful right now

As a Alabama Alum who watched Hurts alot his running isn't the problem. His problem is he can not stand on the pocket and deliver a pass. He is a gimmicky College QB. Think Tim Tebow but faster.

After watching Patrick Queen play well today, sign me up for a LB in Round 1 or 2.

You just know how far the standards have fallen when "the Eagles played a great quarter!" is now a positive.

Today’s game was a positive.

I would like to.see our offer sove players catch passes that hit both of their hands

I don’t think we should be patient at WR for the likes of Hightower or Watkins or Ward. That doesn’t mean we cut them, but if they don’t earn a top three spot at WR by season’s end, we need to get more talented players.

Yeah except prevent time needed Slay to make a big play in end zone to save game.

True but still.

That would be nice. And I’d like to see Ertz play as if he gives a S.

The fact that it is, shows how bad the Eagles have become. The point entirely.

Obviously, expectations for the team are lower when all but two starters on offense are out.

We have other more pressing and desperate needs.  Our current WR and TE corps minus Alshon, DJax, and Ertz is fine through next year.  So no more forcing picks at WR like we did last year.  Only take one if a true blue chip stud who is BPA is available (e.g. Chase or Waddle).

I still want Howie and Schwartz gone. Doug also needs to get rid of the committee of OCs

I still think Wentz is elite

I'll be pissed if they bench Fulgham when/if Alshon gets healthy

How many players do we have injured total?

There will always be good WRs in the top two rounds. That’s not a concern.

I’ll wait for these next 3 games.  If ARI wins tonight the Eagles are guaranteed to be first in the division at 4-4-1 if they beat the Giants, DAL, and Giants.

Our Wide Receivers are bad. Really bad. Unless Reagor turns out to be something.
