Brady runs across the field to shake hands with Rodgers — what a POS

Lol it's sad that I laughed at this

Imagine if he had to deal with the scraps Wentz gets.

I'm curious what Mahomes would look like without all of the talent he has to work with

I'd rather fire the medical staff. This staggering number of injuries is unheard of and unacceptable. And it's been like that for awhile now.

I think it's the strength and conditioning staff that needs to go

Foles took his lunch and ate it. What's done is done.

Chris Simms just ripped Doug a little for the 2-pt conversion call at the end, and he's right. The Ravens were bringing blitzers and stacking guys around the LOS all game. We ran right into it. Doug tried sticking with what was working which was letting Carson use his legs if he has to, but he ran right into a wall with that play call. Overall, a good day for Doug, but that call sucked.

I don't mind using a 2nd round pick on RBs. I mind giving them a big second contract. If the value proposition is a year 1 contributor and years 2-4 of pro bowl level play, then that's good value in the 2nd round.  Actually, really good value in the second round when you adjust for the expectations of a replacement level player in the 2nd round (basically a 35% chance of getting a starter). Giving RBs a lot of money because they had a lot of carries is what gets you in trouble.

I don’t entirely disagree with that, but I feel it doesn’t comply with the NFL’s unabashed blueprint for success.

How many penalty yards, per year, go against defenses for their handling of RBs?  Helmet to helmet, illegal contact, unnecessary roughness, etc.  Very, very few.

How many for WRs?  Innumerable per game, most of which change the outcome.

RB is the one position the defense is still allowed to line up and pummel.

The league is all but telling teams not to rely on them or use them.  Some teams take the hint faster than others.  The Eagles have been pretty good about this one.

Happy for the kid.

What was the injury?

Another quick point on speed and passing/WRs...

This isn't about what's fun or exciting.  It's about winning.  This also isn't about being innovative, ahead of the curve, or picking up on some subtle NFL trend.

This is on a billboard outside the league offices and is tattooed to the forehead of every official.  "Pass early, pass often, give us streaming highlights, don't deliver concussions or injuries, don't be physical, don't hurt QB's, don't hit QB's, don't hit WR's."  This is not subtle.  If you want to win in this league, you have to play THAT game better than anyone else does.

Build your team and play the game accordingly.  Buck this trend at your own risk.

Not the medical staff. That's on the strength and conditioning staff

We’re at 1-4-1 in part (again I said in part) because of his struggles. If we were 3-3 the outlook of the season is different than at 1-4-1. We would be talking about staying afloat despite an insane number of injuries. Instead we’re looking at maybe winning a completely garbage division with 5 or 6 wins. Winning the division that way is completely pointless. In fact, it does more harm than good.

If they had these same problems, theyd be going no where in the playoffs, even if Wentz didnt have those struggles in the first few weeks.  The "going no where" isnt related to Wentz, whether he struggled mercilessly early or not.   And I agree, and said the same thing last week about winning the division this year likely setting this team back in the long run.  But, long term, I dont see Wentz as the problem.  Biggest issue, isnt even with the roster, its with the strength and conditioning, because this team jist cant stay healthy.  This is the 3rd straight year like this, even worse than other years.  Something is broken there a d needs to get fixed.

I have never thought Wentz was a problem long term.

Glazer says Sanders is getting an MRI.

Obviously the play didnt work so its easy to say it was the wrong play call. But dwelling on that call is senseless imo. No Ertz, Sanders yet again out of the game late. Who is your next best red zone weapon? Wentz. Who do you trust most to get open against a really nice set of CBs? Probably no one. Wentz's legs were the best thing we had going for us in that spot. An option for him seems like the best plan to me. Other side of the line had its 3rd RT in the game so that wasnt the side to mess around on.

Maybe we should have done some motions before the snap or something to try to find a mismatch or get the D out of position somewhere, but thats hindsight.

None of this is Wentz’ primary fault, but when they get this fixed and end up with a 30 year old QB who doesn’t know how to partake in a functional offense, aside from running around and heaving the football to guys in tight coverage, it’s going to be a problem.

Sounds like Russell Wilson. Doesnt seem like a problem for him.

There was motion on the play we ran, and it indicated man coverage. Chris went through the play and showed how pre-snap it was never going to work because the Ravens had more guys on that left side than we did. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.

We have a very long way to go before we’re entertaining Fulgham as a good starting X. But I think my idea of a good starting X is probably different than yours.

My expectations from any WR is to run good routes, use a multitude of feints, change of pace etc. to get and stay open, catch the ball, be field aware and get YAC.  Speed to stretch the field is a bonus but I also don’t overlook DeAndre Hopkins 4.57 forty, Jerry Rice’s 4.71, Larry Fitzgerald’s 4.63, Michael Irvin’s 4.52, and Michael Thomas’ 4.57.  Greg Ward, coming off an ankle sprain reinjury that he played through all season, ran a 4.58 at his pro day. He ran sub 4.5 at UH so he is plenty fast enough and he is quick.  Biggest knock on him is his height.  Fulgham ran a 4.58 but shows real quickness in his shuttle and three cone.  Both were green WRs but they get open, catch the ball, show field awareness and get YAC when available.

Howie turning a blind eye to the backup RBs (amongst many other things) is hurting us. All because Boston Scott made a couple plays in space last year. Crappy evaluation of our own RBs, IMO.

I just read this note about today's Bears/Panthers game on a Bears blog:

Sounds like Rasul had a good day against a good WR.

Him and Sidney Jones aren’t anywhere as bad as Schwartz system makes makes every CB look.

Haha I still can’t believe that dope play call on the 2 point conversion.

The guy had no Oline for years and put his team on his back since the dismantle of the legion of boom
