Could be worse — you could watch Cody Bellinger strikeout 14 times in the World Series because he can’t touch a curveball or slider that ends up near his back foot, then have to watch the Braves reliever throw him 8 straight fastballs in the 7th inning of a tie game in Game 7 tonight.  Un-frickin-believable.

25 years later and the Braves still suck at playoff time; the Saints of MLB

The only reason I was cheering for the Braves Is because I hate Dodgers fans. I couldn’t believe they kept throwing Bellinger fastballs. It felt like they just didn’t read the scouting report. Also how many bad base running mistakes do the Braves need to make that change his momentum of the game because they’re too stupid just a tag third base in game five and it clearly turned the momentum in the dodgers favor and they rode it. Then tonight no need to run home on a ground ball with no outs

I wouldn’t say based on nothing at all. Dillard said growing up he hated football and wanted to quit multiple times. He said something like "Football chose me over me choosing Football.” He’s got a Danny Watkins vibe to him.

Whatever you say, but I don’t see it with him.

If I were Doug I’d ask Brandon Brooks to stay really close to Dillard these next few months and ‘take him under his wing’.  Brooks is a study in perseverance and I’d be very curious to get his honest evaluation of Dillard

I miss Redd Foxx.  They don’t make sitcoms like Sanford and Son anymore:

I feel like a lot of people in this organization, including players of course, have been way too complacent since the Super Bowl. They're not hungry enough, at least until they find themselves in a hole. The hunger just isn't there like it was in 2017. This team needs to get younger and hungrier. Wentz and Doug look like the only ones who are desperate to win each week. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I feel like this has hung over the team for a few years now.

A couple weeks/maybe months ago, Brandon Graham answered a question similar to yours in one of those Zoom press conferences. He said he "tries to get those guys going" or something like that. What you're talking about definitely exists, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly who those complacent guys are besides Alshon, Peters, and maybe McLeod and/or Cox.

Jamychal Hasty looks pretty decent. Shanahan always finds these late-round, UDFA guys that produce.

We found Mostert.

I deleted my original post because I don't feel it's entirely true. I think the team that played today played very hard. There's a few guys who's intentions and motivations are questionable, and I do think there are some who are complacent.

What does everyone think of the 2-pt attempts early in games? Like when we were down 17-0 and scored, for instance. Or the opening TD vs the 49ers. Analytics probably back it, and I don't hate it. It's interesting, and sometimes costly too. For me, it depends how confident you feel about the play you have in mind working. If there's something you saw on tape of how a team plays a certain formation, or in-game how a matchup is working in your favor. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'm for it in most cases.

Waking up after sleeping on the loss I can see just how huge of a game Wentz played yesterday.  He nearly willed the team to OT and possible victory.  Look at the O he was playing with all day and then particularly in the 4th quarter after Sanders was down and then again after Ertz and then finally Driscoll.  He was hit on nearly every single play and made huge throws and had gutsy runs.  Had we actually come back to win he'd be in the hero level right now.  Let's stop with the nonsense and give this guy a shot with a mediocre line and some WRs and until then hold all the negativity

Regarding Fulgham, we know he can be an NFL receiver.  We don't know if he will be just an average guy or something more.  That will take time.

Especially Eagles games.

There's no need to get any hopes up for that happening.  You know as well as I know that the Eagles are going to find a way to win the East, lose in the first round and be sitting at pick 19 or 20.

21 actually. All playoff teams pick after non playoff teams.

23 now. Dont forget they added 2 more playoff wildcard teams starting this year.

Getting swindled by Peters for the same money it would have taken to bring in Leonard Fournette is a really bad look for all involved

Peters, Jackson and Jeffrey have been stealing money the last couple years. It’s time to play or cut ties with all of them.

Ahh yes. Good point.

Starting players not even on the PS due to a 60 player IR.

It certainly does seem that way at this rate, I feel like every year we're saying we have an unprecedented amount of injuries

OL of the future:

LT Mailata

LG Dillard

C Seumalo

RG Brooks

RT Johnson

We’re fine there.  Just need some more depth.

Dillard can’t be an interior OL and that right side will, at best, play together for about 8 games per year from here on out.

Why do we openly call Jason Babin a fraud just for having an abrasive personality, being inconsistent versus the run, and having the most consistently excellent season rushing the passer we've seen in 2 decades?  And the Philly media just openly refers to the guy as a fraud.

Maybe because he didnt play DE, he just rushed the passer and left the other 10 guys out to dry?  He'd rush upfield for a sack on 3rd and short and they'd let him right by and convert and the RT would rarely even need to block him... and always from the wide 9 stance.   Babin and Washburn, 2 peas in n a pod... and a rotten pod.

Found this on another site...

Rookie WR 16 Game Paces (receptions, scrimmage yards, total TDs, targets):
Jefferson: 75/1432/8/96
Lamb: 93/1427/6/128
Claypool: 54/1139/19/77
Higgins: 59/944/5/101
Aiyuk*: 47/788/10/84
Shenault: 83/1069/3/112
Jeudy: 54/851/3/106
Ruggs: 32/1003/5/59

*As of start of Q4

Fulgham is on pace for 1250... not technically a rookie, but nonetheless.

For next year, I could see Mailata as the swing OT and then take over at RT.  Herbig could be the swing OG.  But they need to upgrade for the future.  I don't think I like Herbig long term at OG starter.  I still do like Prince though.  Maybe he could swing inside at some point or Driscoll.

In retrospect the OL issues arent as bad as they seemed yesterday, just with Toth and Brown on the field it looked horrid.  Brown should be gone immediately.  No one could be worse.  Toth I'll give a little leeway due to first ever experience.

The question of the day will be how badly is Sanders injured.

5 o clock game today,  loving all this football.

Re the failed 2-pt conversion to tie the game, Doug said it was all on his play-calling and shouldered all blame.  Honorable thing to do to protect his players.  From what I saw on TV, it seemed the execution was more the problem.  Wentz fought for the ball from Scott, when the defense closed in.  Perhaps the defense played it well and closed in faster than our guys expected.

When you converted 2 2pt conversions passing the ball and one of them was to a wide open JJAW maybe just pass the ball.
