Holy flashback to 2016 doug. That explanation felt similar to what we heard back in 2016 from doug on certain things.

I guess it is illegal to call a play more than once.

That’s a bummer. He’s amazing at what he does and one of the best to ever do it. I usually hate listening to announcers And put games on mute but he was so good that i always listen to him when he did nbc national games.

He's part of a dying breed.  Guys that have extensive vocabularies that can tell a story with their words.  No one talks the way he does anymore.  He was a connection to old time hockey too.  I'm realizing as I get older how much it sucks to lose people that can connect generations.  Especially as younger folks show more ignorance to what came before us.  I would watch games with teams I didn't care about because of the way he called games.  He had a way of connecting any fan to the game that was on.

Thanks, Reason I did not ask about Peters and Djax is because even when they do come back, it will be only a matter of plays, not games before they both are hurt again.

I thought Reagos injury was a 4-6 week timeframe? it seems like its been 4-5?

Our offense will get better when We get Lane, Seaumalo, Reagor and Goedert back   Providing no one else gets hurt

Reagor was hurt in the Rams game, so it's been a month. I doubt he plays this week with the short rest period, but the Cowboys game seems like a pretty good bet.

I am hoping Peters can give us a stretch run at guard. An oline of Mailata, Herbig, Kelce, Peters and Lane would potentially be really good. And if we can give Wentz a little bit of help from the run game and a little time to throw, I think this offense could take off, especially with Fulgham and Reagor on the field together. But admittedly there are a lot of ifs in that equation.

Few recall that he was the Flyers PBP announcer in the late 80s/early 90s.

He wasn't the play by play person until after Gene Hart.  Gene Hart was the play by play guy until the mid-90's.

Me too.  Kind of a momentum type killer even if the analytics support it from a pure math focus.

That’s how I feel. However I also feel that besides that Sanders run the Eagles offense hadnot exactly shown to be a well oiled machine to that point in the game. The fact that we couldn’t get a 4th and 1 two drives earlier didn’t exactly give me confidence that we would be able to pick up 2 1/2 yards on only one play. That’s why I wanted to have gone for the two point conversion at that point in the game.

Not going to kill doug for that one. I’m more irritated at the play call late in the game on the two point conversion. I’m also irritated on that 4th and 1 felt like there were multiple things we could’ve done differently

Could ran the Philly special... no one would’ve saw it coming

To be honest I'm surprised it wasn't worse.

Re the failed 2-pt conversion to tie the game, Doug said it was all on his play-calling and shouldered all blame.  Honorable thing to do to protect his players.  From what I saw on TV, it seemed the execution was more the problem.  Wentz fought for the ball from Scott, when the defense closed in.  Perhaps the defense played it well and closed in faster than our guys expected.

Having hurts one wonders why not use him exclusively for 2 point conversions?

Design a two point offense for hurts, heck throw some triple option in there.

The call on the last 2 point conversions was predictable, pederson went to the well one two many times, maybe if he had run the same play but have Carson reverse roll off it something the raven did a lot with lamar then maybe it catches ravens off guard but just running a simple read option was meh.☹️

I was really young at the time the sources I've read are conflicting. Maybe someone can clear this up.

Wikipedia says this:

Flyers games are broadcast by NBC Sports Philadelphia (formerly Comcast SportsNet), NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus (formerly Comcast Network) and NBC 10.

The 2007–08 season was the first season for CN8, which was later rebranded as the Comcast Network.[1]

Play-by-Play

Emrick was promoted to the lead play-by-play slot for both local TV and cable for the team in 1988, remaining with the Flyers until the end of the 1992-93 season. For four of those years, Emrick was paired with former NHLer and national hockey broadcaster Bill Clement.

But then it says this on JJ's page

In 1993, he became the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Philadelphia Flyers, replacing Gene Hart, who had gone back onto television. Two seasons later, Jackson was promoted to the television side where he remains to this day.

And then there's this:

Hart stayed on as the voice of the Philadelphia Flyers for 29 years, from the team’s inception until the end of the 1994–1995 season.

What is it? I feel like something's missing.

Just cause a guy has big arms doesn't make him a good RB. Though with our backup RB mess, why not give him a shot? Why else is he on the practice squad.

Should be able to stiff arm.

I'd rather see holyfield and Huntley rather than clement who has been awful.

Curious to see how Driscoll graded out. I didn’t think he was great but then again playing along side brown might have been more harmful than pryor

I think you may be right that there was a period in the late 80's where Emerick took over. Of course, I was only think about the radio side vs. TV.

As good as clement was in 2017 especially SB, he’s offering next to nothing this year. It sucks but if sanders is out extended period of time they need to see what they have in Holyfield, Huntley or someone else. Clement isn’t the same player he once was.

Three killer drops. Can’t have any of these.

I think he's got no shot as an inline TE, but maybe as a hybrid H-back type. Burton was never really an inline blocker either.

Either is ertz so...

Any word on Sanders yet ?????

I don't think Pederson has said anything like that at this point.  I think Peters goes in at RG at this point.

I don't think Toth is a realistic candidate to start at RT. Might have to move Mailata to RT and have JP play LT while Lane/Driscoll is out.

Fulgham's was the hardest but Hightower and Sanders should have made the catches.

Why did Hightower go to the ground is my question.   He lets the ball get in his body.  It's a horrible habit of his.  Extend your arms and catch the ball at the high point and you run in for a TD.
