Yeah that’s another thing with PR. Ward is giving you next to nothing and i believe he actually fumbled it twice yesterday (however might have only been once on a punt return). At some point might want to try someone else who gives you more as a return. That said have no clue on this team who that is. That’s a minor problem they should look into fixing this offseason.

I get reagor and desean were going to be the PR guys and both are hurt but ward has been less effective than reno mahe.

Huntley never returned punts in college just kicks where he had 6 KR tds but hey I wonder if they are giving him a chance at PR in practice.

He could be really good there with his speed.

I just think it's a waste of time keeping him on the pine while scott and Clement are stinking it up.

He's had one carry since being claimed, the first week he was claimed he gained one yard on a toss then never saw the field again

Apparently pederson loved huntley coming out and would have drafted him if detroit didn't so it's a bit surprising that after he was claimed he hasn't seen the field☹️

Maybe with Sanders hurt he sees some snaps?

OK who’s setting the line for the over/under on DeSean snaps on Thursday

Asked about what happens if Sanders is out for awhile

Boston, Huntly, and Corey are the guys. Has confidence in them

I disagree with that point. Would it be nice to see? Yeah but I don’t think it does anything for this organization. Frankly it makes you stuck in purgatory. That is the type of thing that continuously happens to teams in purgatory.  Not saying I’m not cheering for the Eagles to win. Because I always cheer for the Eagles to win. However I do know when I look around the league there’s plenty of teams that do what you just stated and get into this fools gold type of thinking and then find themselves in purgatory More often then not.

I think yours is the majority opinion

My counterpoint would be franchises like Green Bay, Seattle, New Orleans, New England, Pitt, Baltimore, etc who are in contention damn-near every year.  You don't have to suck to build a good team in the NFL, I refuse to make excuses for the FO because they dont have a top 10 pick

Someone asked if COVID messed up the medical staff. Doug just said no lol

I’m not using Sanders as a return or simply because he can’t stay healthy as just the running back. We can say whatever we want about Miles Sanders but last year he left multiple games early with an Soft tissue injuries. He missed a game this year. And now he’s left another game early yesterday with hopefully not a Super serious injury. I love Miles Sanders the talent but Miles Sanders a player is clearly showing you you need to have a competent backup or a 1a and 1B situation because he has shown he is electric when he plays but isn’t the epitome of health.

id like to see Huntley and killins have more than a covid offseason Before allowing them to get looks as returners. If they would’ve had a normal off-season then I’m betting they probably would’ve had more time to work on that aspect. However with the type of off-season we had (and Huntley not even here with us) they didn’t get that benefit. I expect next off-season they are going to work with both of them on that.

Like you said I would like to see Huntley get more opportunities. But I’m guessing he’s swimming in the playbook because he wasn’t here all off-season until week one. But at this point if Clemens and even Boston Scott aren’t giving you much you might as well try it

Pryor likely isn't playing Thursday because others will likely get the bulk of the reps

Hopefully if nothing else DeSean can open up the field for Fulgham and Ward.

Hopefully he can show enough to get a team in need of a WR on the phone at the deadline.  I am looking at you Green Bay.

Also for perspective, 50+ yard kicks are made at a 61 percent rate. The Pittsburgh one is understandable as that stadium is dreadful to kick and it’s why only a 53 yarder is the longest in 20 years of that stadium. However the Washington one was short which with his leg was just bizarre. And the one yesterday kind of felt like much of his kicks from 50 since 2018. Since 2018 he’s just 5-13 from 50+ (38.4%)

It always felt like he was gold on the long kicks and questionable on the short ones. Its changed now though

He would say that last year too. Though he used the commonly used day to day or week to week. He's changed it up lol

Well they have Opeta. Brown looked like a blocking dummy.

That's what I just posted a few minutes ago.  Why does he go to the ground and fall?  Catch with your hands and keep running.  There have been a number of times this year where he let's the ball get in to his stomach and he falls over.  It's a habit they have to coach him up on and teach him to use his hands and that RAC hugely important.

Yup reminds me a lot of Pinkston as a rookie. If I remember Pinkstons first catch he caught deep down the sideline and instead of continuing to run kind of turned sideways expecting contact slowed up and ran out of bounds.

Hightower has got a good 20 pounds on Pinkston but he runs scared like Pinkston did as a rookie.

Isaac Bruce and tory holt were infamous for hitting the turf like they just got shot in the legs when approaching contact yet when both got deep which they both did often and had their guy behind them they caught the ball stayed upright and out ran the defender behind them.

On both of hightowers long balls he gets minimal yac, the drop he falls down for no reason the second he caught but turns his body sideways after the catch slowing his forward momentum then steps out of bounds. He keeps running he possibly out runs the DB to the end zone.

Hightower reminds me of a big puppy. I had a pure bred Boxer, he grew pretty fast and was muscular and athletic but goofy and gangly with big feet and about as graceful as a turtle on its back. He was just a big goofy pup that hadn't figured out how his body worked, hopefully hightower grows out of the puppy stage.

If they start Brown, they should bring in Opeta as an extral OL and line him up just behind Brown.

Just to point out New Orleans, GB, seattle And even Baltimore had down years To get back to where they were.

new Orleans went 7-9 for 4 out of 5 years from 2012 to 2016

Packers Rodgers first year were 6-10. Also the packers were 6-9-1 a couple seasons ago.

Baltimore was 5-11 in 2015. Then slowly built back up.

now Pittsburgh, patriots and Seahawks are the three outliers. Patriots had the greatest QB to ever play and belichick. No one should try to emulate the patriots cause you are going to fail cause most who try to be them fail ask belichick’s former coaches. Seattle has Wilson whos a generational talent. And before he got there were 4-12, 5-11, 7-9, 7-9 so they built up and then got Wilson. And Pittsburgh has Big Ben and they are a very good drafting team regardless of where they pick. Eagles are not so much.

If Mailata finishes the season the way he is playing now then LT is his job to lose IMO.  Dillard has earned nothing.  He hasn't shown much except for the fact that he isn't capable of playing RT.  His passion for the game has been questioned and rightly so based on comments from those around him his entire career.  He will also be 26 next year while Mailata will be 24.  The thing about Mailata is we have no idea how high his ceiling is.  Right now he is showing he is an average LT after playing 3 games ever in his life.  I think the sky's the limit with him to be honest.  Dillard could be a decent trade chip during the draft.

The only other scenario is if Mailata can move to RT and Dillard comes back healthy, stronger and ready to lock down LT.  You can then move Lane sooner than later and have Mailata as your RT of the future.

Yup.  If we can transition to Dillard/Mailata as bookends, it gives the whole team a new outlook moving forward.  Then we can focus the draft on getting Wentz weapons early and use the bulk of the mid-rounds on interior OL and OL depth.  Suddenly the team has a young foundation.

I think it's possible Mailata may end up a better fit at RT anyway.  He's so enormous and may end up being exposed a bit against speed rushers, even after he acclimates to the game.

I'll tell you right now...I don't think Lane and Brooks will ever start more than 8 games together in a season again.

I'd be very interested to move Lane in the offseason.

Doubtful, but at least that means they don't suspect ACL.

No. Don't screw up Mailata and ruin a good thing

He’s played RT before and he might be the swing tackle next year. I don’t see how a game or two emergency plan ruins anything.

I had to look up the stats because I felt since about 2018 he’s not been as consistent as people think. We romanticize about his 2017 because he was so automatic from 50 yards plus. He was 5-6 in 2017 Which is way above the average. But when you think about it over the last 3 years from 50 he hasn’t been nearly as good But much better from within 50. Inside 39 he’s only missed one. And 40-49 he’s 13-16.
