I see everyone defending Carson and that's cool. I should expect that. But while he may have come to camp looking in shape(no doubt working out and the new wife's cooking) he was way out of football shape mentally. Lack of preseason only exacerbated that. Carson has his life prioritized: Jesus first, wife second, child third, and the 40M guaranteed 4th. We are 4th(at best). This is what happened to Nick Foles, and it took him 3 years for his family life to stabilize for him to decide football can be #1 while his career lasts. It seems apparent that Foles is coming out of his funk; and it's taken him 3 years, while Carson is newly arrived in it.

We didn't just invest a 12 digit contract to wait 3 years for his new family to stabilize. We need Carson to prioritize football NOW. Pederson's job will not last a Carson 3 year funk like Nick Foles had. Perhaps that's why he played so well with Nick backing him up. We're at a point where receivers have lost some faith that throws will be on target. That little bit of uncertainty creates drops from wrs overwhelmed by possible places the ball could be.

The same is holding true for Doug's running game. The RBs are losing faith in it. Once you start to question things, you're off purpose. That's why players try so hard to avoid that. It's happening though. Players are questioning plays in real time and it's killing our ability to execute. Never more obvious than that last play yesterday.

I'm not suggesting benching Carson this minute, but stop acting like it will hurt him. We have a young guy full of ambition and dreams who's NOT married and all he wants to do is be a star in the NFL. And I'm afraid the longer we let that ambition turn into anger at not being given a fair opportunity, we will damage THAT. I remember Andy played ...Doug Pederson while McNabb found ways to curb his desire and ambition. I don't think Donovan ever got over that. He played well for stretches, but almost in a vengeful way. To demonstrate how wrong the team was for making him wait.

Dont mind Ertz missing longer than 3-4 weeks. He should take the rest of the season off.

Can live with the Sanders timeline. Dodged a big bullet there. Hopefully, since its the Giants, we can get by with the garbage we have behind him.

I think Hargrave will step up in Jackson's absence.

I havent paid attention to how they are rotating. I assume most often Hargrave and Ridgeway are coming in together in which case Hargrave will be playing the Cox role and taking all the double teams.

Now, Hargrave should be getting to line up next to Cox much more. And, thats just gonna be impossible to block.

What is the status of Goedert, Reagor, and Maddox?

The writers would draw their conclusions based on the 1v1 pass reps that they got to witness.  That drill is biased against the OL.  Plenty of space for the rusher.

Right, but relative to the other tackles he was bad.

I'm sticking with my theory. The odds to be this injured every year goes beyond luck. Seriously. 1/32 chance for 3 straight years is astronomically unlikely.

So it's either something the medical staff is doing, but they've changed that multiple times.

I'm sticking by my theory that many(but not all) of these these are injuries Eagles players of old would be playing through.

It's not a great theory, but it's the only one left with you eliminate all the ones you know for sure aren't it. The injury list looks so big because every time someone gets a boo boo they miss a few weeks.

Adam Caplan said today DeSean should have played by now.

It makes sense.  Especially if the reports about Howie deciding who plays and who doesnt are true.

It cant be this bad again.

So here's the play that Davion Taylor looked fast on.  Not sure who this guy tweeting is but this is the exact same thing Gerry does.  I get the Gerry hate but he hustles too...he just sucks and is never in position to make the play.

For all the love we are giving Sweat and it's deserved he played this horribly.  Not one for his highlight tape at all.

Sorry dude.  Fulgham's was WAY more difficult than the other two.  Was it catchable? Absolutely.

I agree it was more difficult. That doesn’t make it excusable or give him some kind of pass. He should have made the catch.

People set the bar way too low for WRs in here.

 He comes running in and flattens the poor guy, then when he's trying to get up and he rag dolls him again. Runyan is sitting somewhere nodding with a grin from ear to ear right now watching this.

Yup. I could watch those 3 plays over and over again, like Baldinger says Mailata is just fun to watch, the speed that Mailata gets to clark on that fumble is impressive then once he gets there he just eats clark up then while every one is standing around Mailata tosses clark again😄 little dirty but love it when it's on your team!

Eagles need more nasty guys like Mailata on the team.

I’m calling a goaline fb dive from him at some point this year

Can't trade him if he is hurt

Hargrave had more snaps than jackson against raven and I believe against steelers as well. He did didly squat against ravens.

I like Hargrave and I think I'd rather the money they spent on a 3rd DT could have been better spent on LB or safety.

Well at least the two guys that touch the ball every play are still playing.

Honestly, the most impressive play from that clip was when he pulled and lead Hurts through the hole on that keeper. His quickness to get back and through, and then the footwork to mirror the LB at the second level was amazing for a guy his size. He didn't finish the block with force, but sometimes just getting the other guy to keep shuffling their feet or get him in a back pedal is just as good as a pancake. Awesome stuff from a guy with such little experience.

I have to agree.  I watched receivers make plays all day yesterday in the NFL while covered well, surrounded by defenders, poor throws, turning their body to adjust.  Not only do Eagle WR's drop the gimmes, but rarely do they help their QB.

I also have a sinking feeling that howie is working man OBJ trade

Don't know where the buyers/sellers discussion went here, but would you be upset if they traded for a decent linebacker before the deadline?

Depends on for how much. They'd also have to be with us for years

For cap purposes it helps more if he can be traded this year.  Here is what it does to the cap if traded this year.

Cap now.

Lol for a split second I thought this was Jacksons cap and I almost had a heart attack

Sanders out Thursday

Ertz expected to miss a month

Ertz is probably not coming back this season

I wouldn't be surprised if Sanders is out longer too

Yea, he's been totally impressive.  I really like seeing the post game breakdowns of him.  I actually find myself focusing on him throughout the game to just to see if he is doing his job so when you see things slowed down and replayed it makes it look that much better.

Gotta say, Mailata's development is pretty much the only thing I'm excited about to watch the rest of the year.

I dont think we see sanders until after the bye

Probably but really crappy....

I won’t pretend like I focused on Hargrave, but he was part of a defensive unit that held the Ravens’ RBs to 28 carries for 74 yards. Lamar Jackson was only really effective as a runner, and didn’t seem particularly comfortable in the pocket yesterday. How much did he help with that, I couldn’t say, but I think boxscore scouting isn’t the answer.

So, we're talking about an upgrade here...

I still can’t get over how bad Jamon Brown was and how he’s still employed on this team
