It’s find out what we have in what we got so we don’t re-address positions in the draft (LT) because, yes, Howie left us with too many other needs.

Spot on mate! For me LT may be a need but we also have both Mailata and Dillard there so I would like to see us give them both more time to see what they can do. Right now Mailata is showing real promise and I don't think we should give up on Dillard yet either.

The Aussie Destroyer has already earned the LT spot going forward.   If Dillard wants to remain he has to become versatile and earn the swing tackle next year.   Eagles need a replacement for Kelce and I dont see it on the roster right now.  If we have learned anything at all this season is the importance of O line talent.  Young O line talent.  No time to wait and see what we have, we are witnessing it now.  Young, talented interior linemen are needed desperately.

I'm not suggesting that Dillard goes in over Mailata but I am saying let them fight it out in camp. If Dillard shows more then start him and perhaps Mailata can be the swing tackle? Perhaps Dillard can move inside or can be the swing tackle. If he could kick inside to LG and Seumalo could move to C then that could work.

To me, Seumalo should be the swing guard, i just don't have any trust with him at center after taking so many years to become a mediocre guard.  To me, Mailata already looks better than Dillard did when he played and not to say Dillard can't improve, but Mailata is better.  As for Dillard at G, he barely had the strength for LT and can't see him being able to handle the interior.  But, he does have good feet and that could help him moving inside.  I think now is the time to get talent on the line as Kelce is done after this season or next, Brooks and Johnson both in their 30's and injuries mounting intensely.   Need to address it now and not hope old, injured guys will have miraculous injury free years after years of injuries.

Nfce should not be allowed to participate in playoffs, currently a combined 5 -18-1 yikes

IMO it's Mailata's job no question.  The nasty he is showing during games is missing from Dillard.  Not that that is what makes a great LT but he has an attitude about him that I love.  The fact that we even have to question if Dillard loves the game concerns me.  There is no reason to take Mailata off the field.  Maybe if Dillard showed a world of promise when he played or he was playing lights out in TC then sure let's have a competition.  The reports on him during camp were more along the lines of he will do.

Give me the growing pains of a potential All-Pro over the steadiness of an average LT any day of the week.

I think it is too soon to say that Mailata has shown more and looks better than Dillard. Dillard played at LT a little last year and actually he looked pretty good there. He was a disaster at RT and that's an issue but I think people are overlooking how he did at LT last year. That said I do think it is Mailata's job to lose I certainly don't disagree with that.

Time to look past Lane.  The swing tackle is going to be playing a lot of RT.

Dak Prescott is the Dallas Cowboys. They are absolutely lost without him. On the field and off.

I seem to remember the Cowboys falling into big holes with Dak at QB (both this season and last)...only for him to rack up his numbers once the opposing defense had softened.  He’s a good kid and a tough competitor...but he does not carry that team.  Andy Dalton looking bad in his first game with these players doesn’t change that fact.

We're finding out "what we got" right now and the depth hasn't been bad until we got to the backups of the backup's backup. If Mailata continues to play well I think we're good there and so evil old Howie didn't do as bad as some think.

Where did  the "Playing Mailata will get Wentz killed" crowd go?

How many really quick plays do the Eagles have that they run efficiently with Carson. You know. Quick slant quick out , screen passes; blitz beaters. Lately Carson can't even throw those well. He can throw a decent long ball, but when you take 5 sec to get ready, you're gonna have to.  If you're an opposing DC, how can you refrain from just attacking this oline? You can't. THAT'S why our guys are all injured.

Carson is just not as quick this season. I think he may have brain damage.

Why do you say that? You think Lane is going to be injured more often than not going forwards?

I'm still here and guess what? I'm very glad to be wrong.

Dillard looked OK last year.  He got walked back a lot because he lacks strength.  When you see Mailata get walked back it's because of inexperience and technique.  Mailata can be coached up and learn.  Dillard is never going to have that strength.  Even during TC this year he came back stronger and was still having the same issues.

Ask yourself this.  Do you think Dillard would ever be able to manhandle Calais Campbell?  Would he even attempt to?  Mailata has the chance to be a star.

Zeke used to carry the team but I think he's cooked. (go figure a running back cooked)

They've become "Playing Jamon Brown will get Wentz killed."  And they are right this time

He's going to miss games.  He will play with "minor" injuries a lot, as he has been the past few seasons.

Andrew Luck, I think.

As much as this makes me laugh, Matt Barkley was in this discussion before he decided to play his senior year at USC. 😂
