You're correct. Zeke is on pace for 1,101yds and Sanders is on pace for 1,157 yds

But you said 1k isn't much

1K isn't that much. Would you be happy with your RB, who you pay more than any other RB in the league, averaging 63 yards a game?

Probably because they had 35 rushes for 261 yards. Murray had 10 for 74 with a TD. So he doesn't really suck.

I swear, some of you in here have no idea how to look at things. Everything has to be black and white.

OR people know exactly how to look at things by highlighting the information that most confirms their point, and ignoring the 'unimportant' facts😉

I wouldn't be happy with any Eagles RB getting paid like Zeke

I propose the Eagles moving Peters to LT and handing him more money to do it says EVERYTHING we need to know about Mailata’s camp performance.

JP played no LT in TC.  He is likely going to the HOF after he finally retires.  I have to believe his technique was better.   He looked slow and weaker when he actually got into games.  So JP looking better in camp than Mailata would be no surprise.

But that isn’t what I said.   The suggestion was Mailata had a poor camp and I posited that we are basing that on what we heard from reporters and tweets not what happened every play.  Heck, we don’t see the drills at all.  I remember going to Lehigh with my son, who loved playing OL.  We would walk to the fence and watch Juan going through lunge drills, punch drills and hand placement.  Spending time with rookies on their stances.  Watching him teach Jamal Jackson how to get his center low. Well I never see a reporter tweeting about that or even writing a column about it because that sort of focus doesn’t get the attention of the average fan.  Their job is to sell papers or views and that sort of reporting won’t do that.

I don’t blame the reporters.  Heck, I eat up the tweets like all of us because morsels are better than the nada that the Eagles offer up nowadays. I just offer that we have to be cautious as to how we read into their reporting.

I would have taken a shot on him the previous two years, but on an expiring deal I don’t think I’d even trade a 7 for him. Besides, the Bengals writers I follow on Twitter seem to think the coaches believe he’s too mentally soft to make it.

agreed. we are basing our training camp analysis on someone else's analysis/agenda. Out side the brief video of drills and the highlight plays we were very dependent on reporter information this year in particular.

that was one of the draft concerns too. injuries and that he is an unjustified diva WR

If you want to downplay the tweets so be it, but keep in mind his "poor camp” was relative to others as well. This wasn’t some narrative made up out of thin air by reporters trying to get social media interactions. Couple that with the Eagles bringing back JP and then inserting him at LT after seeing Mailata up close in camp tells us what we needed to know.

If Mailata had a good camp, JP would have stayed at RG. I have little doubt about it.

It was literally every reporters’ opinion. There was no agenda against Mailata. If anything, reporters root for the best stories, and Mailata being good is a helluva story.

The most likely scenario is that Mailata did stink in camp. The Eagles’ actions confirm as much.

Green Bay seems to have a need at receiver.  Would love to send DeSean to them, but Ross would be a great fit.  Like DeSean though, health is an issue.

To me, Seumalo should be the swing guard, i just don't have any trust with him at center after taking so many years to become a mediocre guard.  To me, Mailata already looks better than Dillard did when he played and not to say Dillard can't improve, but Mailata is better.  As for Dillard at G, he barely had the strength for LT and can't see him being able to handle the interior.  But, he does have good feet and that could help him moving inside.  I think now is the time to get talent on the line as Kelce is done after this season or next, Brooks and Johnson both in their 30's and injuries mounting intensely.   Need to address it now and not hope old, injured guys will have miraculous injury free years after years of injuries.

I disagree strenuously about Seumalo. He is way above mediocre, IMHO. Not that he was always. He shut down Aaron Donald with no help, a few weeks back. Donald had one assist on a tackle. No sacks, no individual tackles, no QB hits. Seumalo was outstanding against the consensus best defensive player in the league.

I agree that Dillard has no business at guard. How it shakes out at LT (and RT) I cannot begin to predict.

We went for years without major injuries to our OL so I guess this is karma. All the same, when (and if) we get everybody back I see this offense as SB quality. They have all the pieces; they just need to be healthy. The rash of injuries has pretty much destroyed this season but it is developing great depth.

He makes sense for Green Bay. They need complementary receivers to Adams, and his speed gives the team a little more space to operate.

We’re so decimated here that we would need more than just spacing.

I think Seumalo has one stinker game each year and people let that cloud their judgement of him. He’s a good player on a cheap deal. We’d be lucky to have more of those on our roster.

Honest question what is spacing? I have heard it used often and realized I dont actually know what it means. Is it having speed guys that get separation? is it using a variety of receivers and routes to space out the defense and spread them thin? these are my best guesses... If its not too much trouble, I would appreciate a simple explanation of what it really means.

His speed could lead to the deep safety playing a couple of steps deeper than usual to protect the corner. Then he can run clear outs to draw the safety to him to open up the field for others.

Edit: And if he hits on a deep ball or two, he might get a team out of single high safety to two-high safeties to give teams an advantageous look in the run game, or just to open up some space in the intermediate area of the field.

One nice thing is that the emergence of Mailata, Fulgham and Herbig has reduced the number of potential holes we need to fill and given us stability for a few years. We not only have a Super Bowl offense now, but there's also a wide window because our key players are still young.

The issue facing the team is whether or not they can take advantage of the windfall. They have to use assets like Ertz and Dillard to help the defense. We have a limited window with our defensive line, and need to add at least four quality players to the back seven.

We should also be looking for the Fulgham or Mailata of the defense. Taylor, Bradley, Grayland Arnold, Elijah Riley and other young players should be getting chances to show what they can do. Clearly, based on what we saw with Mailata, the team struggles to project how a player will do in a game based on practice. So they shouldn't be afraid to try the younger players out since we are getting such poor play from the starters in the back seven.

It’s kind of wild that the offense is more explosive this season despite being even more injured than last year.

Reagor caught the deep ball Week 1, and Goedert had a downfield score as well.

The Rams played two-high to prevent big plays, but DJax had a 25-yarder.

Ward had a 29 yard TD down the sideline (still averaged 9 yards a catch, lol). Ertz caught the deep ball for 30 yards.

Fulgham caught a deep ball TD vs SF.

Sanders had the long TD run vs Pittsburgh. Fulgham also had that seem catch against cover two.

Sanders long run/JJAW TD and Hightower’s long catch.

I think the Philly beat knows this too.  95% of the stuff they put out is garbage.  How a guy like Michael Kist is considered a journalist is beyond me.  ESP just spews hot trash and what he thinks is trendy.  The agenda seems to be get a story out there as soon as you can then retweet as much as you can.

I miss Phil Jasner.

its called youth and speed. Also, wentz has been forced to keep plays alive with his legs more often which has led to a handful of boom or bust plays

With the injuries we've had the past 3 years we should have more depth than any team in the league.

Bradley and Taylor had more snaps - 32 for Bradley and 11 for Taylor. Progress. Taylor blew a coverage that I saw. Otherwise, I don't think either guy disgraced himself. Promising. I don't see the LBs as a wasteland going forward.

I couldnt agree more... Quality journalists are outliers in today's instant news world. the good writers/investigators are either very old or too qualified and valuable to hold anything less but the most desirable posts. The way journalism is being taught has changed as well. There used to be value in getting the story right before posting it, now it is 100% about getting the story first and deal with the 5 seconds of consequences later on if you are wrong.

I think you can add Driscoll and potentially Wallace to the list depending on how bad their injuries are.  Many of us on here talked about the aging roster positions that no one was talking about.  O-line specifically.  If we come away from this season with answers potentially at LT(Mailata), LG (Driscoll), C (Seumalo), RG(Herbig) then that is huge moving forward.  We could be looking at the O-line for the next 5-7 years.

I want to see Fulgham come back this week against the Giants and have a full 60 minute impact again.  To me it seemed he padded his stats in the 2nd half but he still made plays.  I want to see Hightower become more consistent and stop making mistakes.  What do we have in Watkins?

This week is going to be all about passing.  With the banged up line blocking for Scott and Clement this is going to be a Carson Wentz game.  HIs WR need to come ready to play...especially with no Ertz or Goedert.

Still a lot of holes on this team.  There is no young corner waiting to take over.  The safety depth is still garbage.  We know about LB.  Who is the 4th DT with Jackson out?
