What's there to scout? He just played his 1st NFL game ever and didn't get a single offensive snap

touche. 😄

although if he even made those comments, he clearly is basing it off some film

I disagree strenuously about Seumalo. He is way above mediocre, IMHO. Not that he was always. He shut down Aaron Donald with no help, a few weeks back. Donald had one assist on a tackle. No sacks, no individual tackles, no QB hits. Seumalo was outstanding against the consensus best defensive player in the league.

I agree that Dillard has no business at guard. How it shakes out at LT (and RT) I cannot begin to predict.

We went for years without major injuries to our OL so I guess this is karma. All the same, when (and if) we get everybody back I see this offense as SB quality. They have all the pieces; they just need to be healthy. The rash of injuries has pretty much destroyed this season but it is developing great depth.

I can be convinced about Seumalo and you made a good start.  Still not sold on him as a center.

Several years now of injuries is no longer "karma" but a reality.  I am not convinced we are developing depth.  We have none at center.   RG is in shambles, Driscoll has a ways to go and is now injured, Herbig might be OK but the pressure up the middle is frequent and ferocious, and we simply can't run up the middle at all.

I don't see development, I see guys who are fringe NFL players getting mauled and the QB taking a historic pounding.

We cut Douglas because we want to play mostly man defense. He didn’t fit.

Jones got himself cut. He couldn’t be trusted.

Not for nothing but there's something to be said about adjusting a defense to fit your talent.  Also, I am not saying you're wrong but Jones may have felt that his performance would not matter here because the depth chart was set.  He wasn't going to get a fair chance to compete with Maddox.  I would agree that he just did not compete or was not healthy during camp.  I don't think it can be completely overlooked that he has had some success elsewhere.

I was dubious of Murray winning OROY last season, but I watched him very little so I didn't think much on it.

Watching him last night I have to say it's really nice he can run, but NFL defenses will shut that down and, at his size, he won't last long the more he does it.  The bigger problem is that his passing was atrocious last night against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL.  He's got to be a lot better passing than that normally, I assume?

On the season he’s completing 65.5% of his passes. I’m guessing some of it last night was returning home to play and he was likely nervous. He’s usually not that bad of a passer. Still needs to get better in terms of decision making. but then again besides the niners and panthers, he’s really faced no one that’s any good: jets, Dallas, lions and Washington. His td to INT ratio is 10:6. Which isn’t great considering the competition he’s faced so far this year but his rushing tds make up for it. I live out here and watch almost every cardinals game since it’s almost always the late afternoon game. My issue is like yours, the cardinals run him a bunch of times. I think on average his rushes are 9 rushes per game. That’s a lot for a kid his size. At some point he’s going to get hit and i don’t think he’ll last running as much as he is doing.

200 yard game incoming

Lol I don't think they win those either. Maybe Giants because I think they'll try to give us the win

Butler is a real interesting player, dropped in the draft despite awesome measureables, 6'5 220, 4.48, 36" VT, 10'8 HT.

Has problem with drops and a little stiff as a route runner, struggles to get separation, drafted in the 4th rd by Arizona last year but couldn't stick.

Might be the wakeup call he needed, and at H-back, he doesn't need to be as fluid a route runner, but must be willing to block.

I dont understand the Browns, I guess this just shows how important good coaching is. They have crazy talent across both sides of the ball and still cant put a complete team together.

We have a much better QB.

Mailata is the perfect example of a player screwed by no exhibition games - the primary purpose of pre-season games is to give inexperienced players game reps (and get starters ready for the season), that's how they learn.

I don't think they expected JP to last 16 games at LT, they just didn't want to rush Mailata in there with no contingency plan.

I always felt at some point the light would go on, you could see him improve from exhibition game to exhibition game last fall, had he played those games this pre-season, I doubt they even look at JP at LT.

There's more than enough evidence that Stoutland has a blind spot when it comes to JP.

I understand he wasn’t a picture of health but who on our team is? A young talent isn’t worth keeping instead of JAG?

And quite honestly maybe it’s time to adjust our system since no CB ever looks good in it.

i think there’s more to the story then what we know. He got hurt in training camp again and I feel like he milked it because he didn’t want to be here anymore And it was a way for the eagles to move on from him. I believe there’s two sides to this the fact the Eagles were tired of him continuously getting hurt with soft tissue injuries is the side we know. And I don’t think Jones really wanted to be here anymore knowing he wasn’t going to get a fair shake at starting with maddox. Also that the organization would bench him and make him a healthy scratch cause they stopped believing in him.  I think the two sides and we don’t have the other side which is jones

JP was an above-average starter at LT last season.  It's not like his play was bad until this season.

Sure, but you’re not going to change your entire philosophy to tailor to Douglas’ strengths.

If the DC thinks X is the best way to play defense in 2020 and beyond, you aren’t going to keep a player around when he isn’t good at that.

And just because Douglas can play well in zone doesn’t mean Darby can do it. We saw him bust so many coverages. Mills would probably be fine, but then you have two slow corners on the field.

Then we traded for Slay and signed NRC because they are/were good man corners. I’m sure they expected Maddox to hold up as well.

I hope they keep McCarthy next season.

I was a little down that we lost but the team has a ton of injuries.  Looking back, Wentz played really well taking them from behind during the last 10 or so minutes.  Hopefully they all build from this moving forward.  It's not easy scoring that many points against that Ravens' defense in such a short period of time but they did it.

I don't think it would take necessarily changing an entire philosophy.  They didn't have the talent last season to hold up on man coverage and maybe sitting Darby and playing Rasul would have letter to a better result.

Makes it more impressive he was basically down miles sanders for most of it. Add on he was also down Driscoll and ertz for part of it as well.
