Mango teo signed to bears PS. Not saying he’s the player he was expected to be but he’s a guy that makes me wonder how he could be out there while we look at Gerry and co and decide he’s not even worth a workout.

Parks apparently turned down more money from the Vikings to sign here, per Caplan. Maybe if he has a nice finish to the year we get him re-signed to a team friendly deal. Wallace moves up to third safety.

Several years now of injuries is no longer "karma" but a reality.  I am not convinced we are developing depth.  We have none at center.   RG is in shambles, Driscoll has a ways to go and is now injured, Herbig might be OK but the pressure up the middle is frequent and ferocious, and we simply can't run up the middle at all.  

I don't see development, I see guys who are fringe NFL players getting mauled and the QB taking a historic pounding.

 

They've worked Seumalo at center, a lot. He's played every other position on the OL, so he knows their responsibilities. He's worked with Kelce for years. I can't think of anyone who is better prepared. A month or more ago I posted some stuff about Seumalo's stance, how it is much squarer to the LOS than anyone other than the C.. He and Stoutland worked this out. It's a very small step to playing center.

As for depth, next season we are returning Brooks, Seumalo, and Dillard. Lane too, one hopes. That's a lot of talent. Mailata looks like the real deal and Driscoll has promise inside, though not at RT. Herbig shows promise, though at RG rather than LG.

Lots of guys start as fringe NFL players and disappear unnoticed. Others flourish. I have great confidence in Stoutland. We should remember there has been no pre-season and the rash of injuries has almost everyone playing out of position. Jamon Brown, really?  We need a little patience here.

 

Oh yeah, I laughed hard at the Cowboys getting punked out by the Cardinals. I wonder how many fans would take the Clapper back?

Also I don't really understand this running theme of protecting just 2 when you have 4 with no reason not to.

Call ups. It was rumored you can only protect 4 times but then shot down at some point. This is the 5th or 6th time they protected McGill

That was with Craig James and Maddox hurt, both who should be playing Thursday. Not sure who to cut to make room for him.

Meh. He isn’t good, and Slay, LeBlanc, NRC and James are healthy. Plus Maddox might return.
