Yeah, but post means carrying over to 2022.

Which I’m fine with doing cause looking at the FA class for 2021  it’s not great and i rather with how the 2022 class looks currently that’s where I’d rather spend. Obvious things change but i think the smarter play is having more cap in 2022 and rollover going into 2022

Very possible that OBJ just needs a better QB but he'll be 28 next month

I am not interested in adding any WR's, now, off season, draft.

We can roll with Fulgham, Reagor, Ward, Hightower and Watkins.  Hopefully Hakeem Butler turns into something, and then you have Goedert and the TE's.

This team desperately needs O-Line, DE, another starting outside corner and Linebackers.

I would also add backup Rb to sanders but it’s definitely less than the other 4 you stated.

Trouble is post-June 1 cut savings don't become 'spendable' dollars until June 1.

but, I really hope Alshon and Desean are both gone for 2021.  We can't afford the roster space, let alone the cap space being wasted on players who aren't contributing at all.

I would go so far as to say even if they contribute the rest of the way this year they should still be gone.

Honestly theres a chance the jets just tank again the following year or he goes to the jags which would be worse on a marketing perspective then ny.

People need to think in practical terms.  He's not going to stay at Clemson and give up not only $9M (or delay it), but he'd be delaying his second contract by a year, his third contract by a year, etc.  It sets everything back, and he risks injury such as the one Tua suffered, which dropped him from a #1 or #2 overall pick down to #5 -- and could  have been much worse.

The leverage the player has is through his agent.  Put pressure on the Jets to trade the pick by letting it be known he's not willing to play there; it's about the only leverage a player has when it comes to the NFL draft.

Absolutely.  Unreliable and expensive.

Add to the marketing you can do in New York, he could be set for life without 1 dime of his NFL contract included.

Plus, he can be a free agent after his franchise tag year.

The Jets will likely have a new coach by the time that draft rolls around, so the Jets as currently formulated likely won't be the Jets of then.   That can change things... a lot.

Kinda like here with Doug and Wentz.

But will Foles be the Jets' backup QB in 2022?

Can't he refuse and just get traded elsewhere?

I don't want him simply because of his age

They need to look for Brooks, Kelce, and Lane's replacements. Even Cox

Honestly they should look into a RB starter that they can lean on for every down

We've been given the excuse that Sanders has been tired but then he's also been banged up

Oh I 100% agree with you. I think it be ridiculous if he went back. He’s going to wind up going to a bad team and likely a bad organization if he came out this year or if he came out next year. Like you said he’s just delaying getting a second contract which is what he wants ideally to get ASAP. So why would you put that off by a year and potential he get yourself hurt. Not that if he got injured he would go in the top five but why put yourself even at that risk

Play I see him having is what Eli Manning did to get to the Giants. But then again I don’t think he wouldn’t want to go to the Jets. The marketing in New York and the publicity get would be hard to match anywhere else in the Nfl which is to his advantage.

Now that organization is a dumpster fire but I’m guessing Adam Gase is not going to be there next year And they have a ton of cap to help fix some areas. I don’t think they’re going to be nearly as horrific next year with the cap space (82 million) they have and if they have Lawrence at quarterback

Just watched the first half on the all-22. No matter how bad you thought Jamon Brown was, he was worse. He did have one nice cut block.Other than that, nothing. He doesn't square up on the defender ; he turns and when he does he loses all his leverage,  Terrible feet. And Driscoll has no chance at RT right now. He simply isn't strong enough. His technique is OK but he still ends up in the QB's lap. I see a LOT of squats in his future.

He could do that. But the Jets could say we’re not doing it. I think the Eli Manning situation was the perfect storm where Philip Rivers was there and the Chargers liked him as well and Eli Manning is a Manning.

as for Sanders I said that during the off-season that at some point if what happened in 2019 happens in 2020 where he’s leaving games early then you have to consider his durability an issue. I love Miles Sanders the player. He is a phenomenal talent when he is on the field. There is no denying that. but he left 3 to 4 games last year early with an injury and so far this year Hes about to miss his 2nd game, he’s left a game early and likely imo out til after the bye.

Yeah, one would think he would be "ok" with going to the Jets.  Huge market and their front office should be getting better with Douglas there, imo.

lol your so butt hurt someone has an honest opinion aboutt things.

So you're honestly proving your stupidity?

Weird flex.

People always talk about players needing to go back to school if they are the consensus #1 pick because of Team X having that choice... but here's the thing about that, the following year, a team just as bad will be the one with the top pick, assuming that you stay healthy.

So, whether its the Jets this year, the Texans next year (with BOB out, it makes them perhaps more attractive), or the Browns, or the Bengals, or the Lions... there's a high probability that a team with a historically bad organization will be the one sitting at the top of the heap.  So, you either suck it up, believing you are the one that can make the difference and turn it around, you suck it up knowing that in 6 years you can go wherever the money and system fits you best while cashing in and getting security against injury, or roll the dice that an even bigger dumpster fire isn't waiting at the end of your college rainbow... but the college rainbow isn't a rainbow at all, but a super long highway filled with deadly potholes and potential pitfalls.  Your game falls off, your school goes into the dumper and instead of sitting at the top of the rankings you are mid-tier or worse... and then there's the ever present danger of injury while training/playing.  How many players now are not just skipping Bowl games but like Bosa, skipping half a season or more to make sure they are healthy for the draft process.   Waiting a year to cash in is a dangerous game.   And for every success story there is about it, there's that many and many more where it backfired.   Sometimes, a bird in the hand is way better than two in the bush.

The non-football opportunities is one of the best opportunities you could have out of all 30 Nfl markets (2 ny and 2 la teams). Only market that would be close in the nfl is LA.

I think the rule then would be that he won't sign and then waits until next draft to be chosen again. Can anyone else chime in here?

Yep.  That's what I was thinking.  I think he's got the mental side of the game, and even the technique (as much as any mid-round OL can have as a rookie entering the league), but he's just not strong enough yet.  But, I really don't see him long term at OT.  I see C, but LG makes sense to me too.

He could do that but then again he could also then be drafted by the Jaguars the following year. Heck if the Lions move on from Matt Stafford he could be playing in Detroit.  I’d much rather play for the New York Jets than the Jacksonville jaguars. Most teams picking in the top three are usually dumpster fires. At least with the jet I’m in the New York market and can make a ton of money off the field.

That would be the rule.   Happened with Bo Jackson.  Happened with the Eagles and Craig Erickson.  Happened a few other times as well.  And, if he did that, he could go to CFL and get some coin, or he could take some endorsements in the meantime and earn some cash.  If he returned to Clemson, he'd not be able to get paid or risk breaking the NCAA's rules about that stuff.

lol   Its sad, but my immediate question is:  Could the Eagles sign him and have him play tomorrow night?  I mean, how much worse could this guy be compared to Brown?

Pathetic.   Hopefully, they have a better plan for RG than Brown for tomorrow night's game.   Maybe some tricky formations where they only line up 4 official OL and just have an extra eligible player in the game, and the Giants have to figure out which player they don't have to cover on each play.  That would be an interesting gambit.

Solak is on board.

I’d bet alshon doesn’t play until after the bye.
