Garafolo said Goedert is expected to return after the bye.

Not the worst news I suppose but that means two weeks of Dick Rod as TE1. Gross.

Another grim reminder of how bad Brown was:

Baltimore is showing an A gap blitz. rown is uncovered. It is Kelce's job to take the man on his left shoulder and Brown's to get the  guy on his nose.

Brown is trying to block the right guy but once again he doesn't move his feet. This gets ugly really fast.

A complete whiff on a guy coming right at you. How is that even possible?

Free runner at Wentz.

Who barely gets it off and takes a hit from a 325-pounder. Driscoll's man has beaten him but not quickly. Wentz would have had plenty of time if Brown did anything at all. Just. Really. Bad.

JR thanks for this, it's great. I thought watching live part of Brown looking really bad might've been due to how good Campbell is. But these issues have almost nothing to do with the opposing player. This is basic stuff. Ugh.

Maybe we see some Hakeem Butler in the slot.

Watched those games too. I wouldnt say "played well" but like I said, he tore up the Eagles so he must be top tier

Cause odell tore it up 4 years ago so he must be top 10 still...

What is Howie thinking?  Are we really out of players on the o-line that we needed to sign Brown and then activate him for tonight?

OK so was Pryor off the active roster last week or just inactive?

Ertz to IR creates a roster spot

Brown being cut created a roster spot.

They signed Croom to the active roster taking Brown's initial spot.

Brown and McGill are the to PS call ups.

Do we still have an open roster spot because of Ertz?

He also played well against Denver and Cleveland....

Denver 3 catches for 88 yards and a td

cleveland 4 catches for 74 yards

He’s being propped up by certified offensive mind Mike Tomlin.

If I bring you stats you say stats isnt that everything that counts, I bring you what I see you say something else.

At the end of the day you take out the Eagles game he has 10 catches for like 230 yards, and one of those was a bomb against Denever after James Washington got hurt for like 80 yards.

I think the kid has talent, I think he will have a good year. 40ish catches 600 yards, 6 touchdowns. but the Eagles fans are about to crown him.

I also think the steelers will include him in more of the game plan.

I think its weird that you keep bringing up OBJ. but ok sure? I guess?

I keep bringing it up cause you say claypool is a jag and yet he has better production than odell who had one game This year where he also tore it up against Dallas. And yet you consider odell great Still even though he hasn’t been great in 4 yearS and being out produced by a rookie on less targets. Not hard concept to understand why someone would throw that in your face.

No. Pryor going on COVID list created a spot. He now takes Ertz spot. I don't remember what they did with Pryors spot when he went on the list. I think activated Parks or Curry.

My most sincere hope for this season is that the Eagles in the midst of this dumpster dive of a season have struck gold in a few areas...

Sometimes doing a deep dive into the dumpster, you can come away with a relic of invaluable worth, its rare but it does happen.  Hopefully Mailata is such a find at LT, even at RT, and I would be overjoyed.   Add to that finding a legitimate "X" receiver (not proclaiming Fulgham yet) would be a massive find.  Not invaluable like a 10 year stud LT would be, but for this team, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.  They just suck at identifying WR talent.  And, maybe, just maybe our new WR Coach can mold him into a legit starter in this league.  That would fill two HUGE voids in this offense for the foreseeable future and limit the necessity to make moves there for 2021-2023 or longer potentially.

In that case, long term 'solutions'...

QB - Wentz
RB1 - Sanders
RB2 - ???
X-WR - Fulgham
Z-WR - Reagor
LT - Mailata
LG - Seumalo
C - ???
RG - Herbig?
RT - ???|
TE - Goedert
Slot - ???

If by some miracle, Hightower can develop a bit more and actually MAKE THE CATCHES, he could play "Z" and free up Reagor to be used more creatively in the slot occasionally and be used like Deebo Samuel to an extent.    That's the makings of a pretty good offense moving forward.  They'll need a RB2 desperately, Center and RT become issues for the future, as Kelce is nearing the end and Johnson's starting to rack up some injuries each year.   But, even for 2021, if Kelce and Johnson return with Brooks... that gives the Solid OL for the immediate moment, with some time to develop players behind them. Driscoll, Herbig, Prince... though I'd expect they might need to address it in the draft, they could focus more on BPA (at least offensively).

The flip side isn't quite as rosy.  The defense needs some younger DL to step up - Cox and Graham are nearing the end.  Jackson is really just a band-aid.  LB is a black hole.  I'd love to see Taylor and Bradley step up though, so maybe there's some hope there.   The secondary doesn't look great moving forward to me though.  Wallace might be the only piece 'for the future' and we've not seen him a ton.  I did love that draft pick though, so I am hopeful.

I’m not yet sold on Fulgham as the future at X.  And while you listed some decent young players on offense, are any of them particularly the type that help you win a title?

Whoa.

Experience with the team and because to have 48 active, 8 must be OL and they are low on OL?

Weird...the Vikings GM has made some very odd trades over the last few years.

This is such a weird season that I wouldn't dare make predictions.

If the Eagles limp into the bye 3-4-1, they're in great shape for a 2nd half run as the walking wounded return.

2-5-1 is tougher, but I doubt Dallas wins more than 7 games, and the over for the Giants and No Names is probably 5, so a 5-3 second half could still win the division, and Eagles don't have to worry about tiebreakers.

As far as the playoffs, it's how you finish the season, not how you start, that counts. Get the team healthy, with a lot of young players with game experience (in a year without preseason games) and the Eagles are in as good a position as anyone - they probably beat Seattle last year without that cheap shot, and I'd have taken them over the Rams.

GM and Zimmer are going to get fired. Problem is Minnesota being bad He was less likely to stay and not being able negotiate with him due to the franchise tag deadline passing probably forced their hand in trading him. I’m guessing they probably had some intel telling them he was likely gone at year’s end

Said it at the time that the Vikings vastly overpaid. Now the Ravens get him for a late 3 and will let him walk for a comp 3. They’re smart. The Vikings aren’t.

4 minutes ago, Bacarty2 said:

yes, and it;'s weird you keep bringing it up when its 5 games into the season. but sure man, lets compare a rookie who's literally had one game to OBJ 5 games into the season

Not as weird as you coming to an eagles board after leaving it for about a year talking about buying a conner jersey and some reason also going on a Steelers board to talk about the eagles. I think that’s more weird.

I mean i could bring up odell’s last 3 years which you continuously negate cause you are foolish and make up every excuse in the book. But we’ve already been there and done that. So if claypool winds up finishing with better numbers than odell does that mean claypool is still a jag or does odell come down to JAG status? Then again I wouldn’t be calling a second round pick five games into his career a JAG When he’s been like the 4th most productive rookie wr in the league 🤷‍♂️

Vikings stink and don't want to sign him to a mega deal.

4 minutes ago, ManuManu said:

Whoa.

Vikings probably realize they don’t have the cap room to extend him and are going nowhere this year.  Given the Ravens’ record, he might get them over the top on D, this year, might extend next year and if not they get a slightly lower third comp pick. If the conditional fifth next year isn’t triggered, they get to rent him for eight games at the cost of probably no more than eight to ten spots at the bottom of the third, barring a Clowney like situation.

Probably shouldn’t have traded a second for him if you didn’t want to sign a mega deal regardless if you stink or were good.

Have we announced who’s starting at RG? It’s gonna be funny when Brown starts a day after we cut him.

Assuming it’ll be Pryor since they just activated him

Yeah, I still see 7-8-1 and quite possibly winning the division at that record.

This 4-game stretch will tell a lot; NYG, DAL, @NYG, @CLE will hopefully be 3-1 to get to 4-5-1.  Then SEA, @GB, NO would need to get a win somewhere in that three-game stretch to get to 5-7-1.  Finish with @ARI, @DAL, WFT will need to win two of those 3 games to be 7-8-1.

Very possible and, as you said, it's tough to imagine DAL getting to 8 wins unless they completely run over the NFC East opponents.

I was banned.

I didnt negate anything. Just found it  confusing why you think a guy whos the center of the offense who had 20 more targets with only 150 more yards is top 5 yet the guy whos the 4th option isnt. OBJ's numbers on the Texans, this year or last year would be the same as Dhop.

Vikings realizing that they misjudged this year, that they stink and that they'd rather have ANYTHING instead of nothing(See Zach Ertz) isnt weird.

And you got banned probably for what you are doing now. So continuing a trend.

I’m confused on why you think Odell Beckham Jr. is a top 10 wide receivers and yet a fourth option on any team. Please explain to me how he could be a top 10 wide receiver and yet the Cleveland Browns view him as a fourth option? And yet he still top 15 in target in the NFL over the last two years and yet he’s fourth option. Meanwhile anywhere else with the same amount of targets he’s getting he is the number one option. Meanwhile his last three seasons compared to DeAndre Hopkins he has been dwarfed by DeAndre Hopkins. Yet cause last year hopkins still outproduced him on 17 more targets which if odell got those 17 targets he’d still be about 90-100 yards less and 40 catches less than hopkins.
