Probably shouldn’t have traded a second for him if you didn’t want to sign a mega deal regardless if you stink or were good.

Probably shouldn't trade a first for Sam Bradford either

Have we announced who’s starting at RG? It’s gonna be funny when Brown starts a day after we cut him.

You just ruined my day by just suggesting this is a possibility.

It would be funny in a sick and twisted way though.

I don't even want to think about him trying to block Leonard Williams....

"Basically offsets". They traded a pick in the 30's for one that will end up being in the 90's and paid the guy a chunk of his tag for a 6 game rental, lol.

I hear that Peters would be an improvement at RG often, but after watching him at LT, I'm not sure I agree.  He honestly just looks washed to me.  No quickness, no ability to sustain blocks, even when he manages to find his target, and struggles to get his body on anyone out in space.  I think its time for him to ride off into the sunset.  He's really not who he was.  And its sad to watch.

As poorly as Pryor played in his last game, I think I'd rather have him out there or even Opeta (flipping Herbig back to RG and playing Opeta at LG) out there learning.  We know that Peters has no future here.   The jury is mostly out on the others still.  I'd rather go with them the whole time, since you know that you'll end up having to go to that well at some point, because Peters will take himself out.  Give me the young and hungry players, rather than the old, broken down and greedy player.   (Yes, I said it.  And I'll stand by it.  Demanding to get paid more to play LT... for 2 games... just a garbage move by him.  He should voluntarily give back some of that money now that he's not the LT, shouldn't he?)

I was excited to see peters at guard to start the season I thought he could do well at guard but after seeing him play at LT I agree I think hes washed. He has zero explosion left he just looks fat and lazy and hurt out there. I was disappointed when they moved him to LT to start the season I couldn't understand why they just didn't put Mailata at LT and keep Peters at RG.

Now that Mailata is at LT I like you would rather see Opeta at LG herbig at RG and have Peters give his LT money back. Let the young kids get theirs and peters can be a gameday sideline coach.

Anyone who thinks SF(some what healthy) Seattle or the Rams will lose to this dumpster fire is a clown in the wild card is a clown.

I bolded one thing that stands out to me.  We are by far the most injured team in the league, but you quality us beating them because of their injuries.

We just scored 57 points on the #1 and #2 scoring defenses who give up a combined 36.13 PPG.  You don't think our offense would be more efficient if we had more than 1 of 5 projected starters on the offensive line, on top of losing 3 back ups ??

When we have these conversations it seems to me you dont watch football and your clueless.

you name any "decent" wide receiver and his numbers would be better with Deshaun Watson rather than Baker

You name any decent wide receiver who goes to a pass first offense over a run first offense and his numbers will be better.

Now, you take any DECENT to GOOD( I think we can agree OBJ Is good) WR and game plan EVERYTHING around him and his numbers will go up.

I say it again, I say it before, you take OBJ out of Cleveland and put him on about 20-22 other teams and his numbers would be top 10 across the board EASILY

Lmao @  calling people clueless  when you are telling people a rookie outperforming and on pace to outproduce odell through 5 games a definitive jag. Legitimately was listening to Sirius satellite radio yesterday and they had two scouts who worked in the NFL for over 20 years come on and say claypool might have the most upside of any of the rookie WRs. yet we have you Who is "I’m not a Steelers fan I’m an Eagles fan but I want to buy James Connor jersey and I go to all the Steelers games and I watch all their games "telling everyone he’s just a jag. Maybe you’re just don’t know talent

Yes I’m clueless and don’t watch football. Meanwhile you might say some of the most absurd and idiotic things on this emb. And i don’t think that’s an understatement. pretty sure no one on this blog would disagree with that.

Would watson help odell? Yup. I didn’t deny that. However i also know odell when he was a top 10 WR played with Eli who was on the decline and completion percentages in the low 60s just like baker’s Low completion percentage.

run First team yet still getting no. 1 targets for over 2/3s of the teams in the nfl. Is this such a hard concept to understand that if you put odell on 22 other football teams in the NFL in the last two years he would be number one in target on those teams over the last two years? Obviously you can’t understand that you just referred back to run first team. Meanwhile he would be leading 22 other teams in targets over the last two years At his average of 127. So he’s still getting number one wide receiver targets. so this is a bullcrap argument by you as he’s still getting no 1 Wr targets

and just because you keep saying that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily true. He could he could also being the same player he’s been over the last three years which has been missing games due to injury and a team doesn’t think he’s good enough to be anything more than a third or fourth option

But keep coming with insults as part of your arguments. It just makes you look like the only way you can compensate for a lack of a good argument is to throw insults out. Bravo.

I’m not yet sold on Fulgham as the future at X.  And while you listed some decent young players on offense, are any of them particularly the type that help you win a title?

I'll answer your question first - yes.

BTW, I'm not sold on Fulgham as the X either, but so far, he's given us very little reason to doubt it.

Now, as to your title question... Corey Clement was a massive contributor that year, ST, passing game on screens, etc.  And then in the Super Bowl, he blew it up!  And that's what really makes a championship team.  Its not about the superstars, although it helps, its about having a complete team.  That 2017 team was really devoid of a lot of superstar talent.  They were a rag tag bunch of really good role players, who all played their roles perfectly.  Even Agholor, whom I don't think anyone would look at as a championship piece now, filled his role in the slot superbly.  Torrey Smith, whom no one was excited about, and rightly so, filled his deep speed role perfectly.  And is certainly helps when you have a QB who runs hot and cold hits one of the hottest streaks we've seen from a QB in recent memory.  But, is Nick Foles really looked at as a 'championship QB'?   If he were, he would have been more hotly pursued before 2019... wouldn't have lost his job to Minshew, wouldn't have been so easily acquired by the Bears, and wouldn't have started the season as the backup there.

So, yes, I think that many of those guys can be 'pieces' to that complete team.   Its still missing pieces, but there would be a framework in place.  And if you have that, then you can search in the draft for a 'transcendent talent', rather than.. "We need to find a WR with speed".

Fill those missing pieces in with a bruiser RB for RB2, find great players to fill the gaps along the OL (because that's the part of the 2017 that was truly special, even after they inserted Vaitai at LT), fix the back 7 of the defense with solid players, and I think that this team could compete, and find just ONE special player on both sides of the ball and the pieces could all be there for a run again.   And that player could be had through free agency or the draft.  Because, to me, the best TEAM is the one that wins, not the one with the best PLAYERS. Its why Dallas always sucks, even though they have more talent.  They are not a team, they are a collection of players.

Andrew Thomas has been pretty bad, in a draft chalk full of OT talent looks like giants got the wrong one.

Maybe we could trade them dillard😉

Whoa.

Ravens just got better.   Vikings are dealing with buyer's remorse.   Saddest part for the Vikings is that they are going to lose about 50 draft spots or more.  They likely end up picking top 5-10 (so that 2nd rounder ends up ~ pick 40)... Ravens might end up with winning the Super Bowl, but are likely to at least end up in the AFC championship game again... meaning they are likely picking around 90 or higher.   That's a terrible lot to give up for 6 games of a player that didn't help you win.  Horrific deal for the Vikings, but clearly they don't think they can resign him, and getting the 3rd from the Ravens is ever so slightly better than getting in line for a comp pick a year later, that might get canceled by other signings they make.    So, better for them to cut bait than compound the error, I guess.

Barnett (24) has been better than Yannick (25) this year. Barnett is also on the 5th year option instead of the franchise tag. We could definitely get a 3 for Barnett.

Targets mean nothing when your QB blows.

OBJ was the #1 in NY. They game planned everything around him(like Dhop).

Like I said, i dont OBJ, I dont want him on the Eagles, I think he's in a bad spot. REALLY BAD SPOT. Sounds like you think it's him, where I think it's baker, the offense and a bad organization.

His last year in NY was almost identical to his first year in Clevland

About 75 catches 1000 yards and 5 tds. Good numbers, not top 10.

GM and Zimmer are going to get fired. Problem is Minnesota being bad He was less likely to stay and not being able negotiate with him due to the franchise tag deadline passing probably forced their hand in trading him. I’m guessing they probably had some intel telling them he was likely gone at year’s end

I don't think they need intel, the writing on the wall is pretty clear to me.  He wants to get paid, and likely wants to get paid by a contender.  He wasn't happy in Jax... even if he was getting paid.  Minny isn't a contender, isn't a great weather city, and they need far more than him.

I can’t imagine that’s true. Yannick has a much better resume

Said it at the time that the Vikings vastly overpaid. Now the Ravens get him for a late 3 and will let him walk for a comp 3. They’re smart. The Vikings aren’t.

They could even potentially resign him.

Did he just fire shots at himself?
