Ruggs had to be #2 then.

Carson chooses for that to happen.  You know that right?

Sometimes he does, many times he does not

you can’t always just throw it away

and for the guy who literally draws up and calls the plays to say that publicly....I mean, are you kidding?

The first (and IMO probably the only) thing to come out of his mouth should be something like "it’s my job to make sure he’s not in that position and I’ll do better"

if he wants to add "when things break down he’s gotta try to save himself for the next play” then fine.  But Doug sucks at press conferences

Was this the first game of his you have watched?  The reason he will not be an elite QB is exactly because of this issue.  It isn't a small issue, its a major problem.  Holds on to the ball too long almost every time which results in fumbles, injuries, us being taken out of FG range, etc, etc, etc.

Yeah he does that trying to make Dougs dumbarse offense work.

they didn’t clean out Dougs assistants for him, and bring in offensive consultants to fix Wentz

Was thinking that. He mentally just couldn’t play here. Goes somewhere else and looks competent

Fultz?  Not sure what NBA you are watching.  Though I hope Jones plays well.  I want people to succeed, its more fun all the way around which is why watching Fultz is sad

OK, how many of you have a little voice in your head telling you that Sidney will have a successful career?

Rasul Douglas had a 75.6 rating from PFF yesterday.

Did Ruggs ever open one up for a big  play?

Sidney Jones was just put on the active roster for the Jags.  What do we think if he looks good when he plays ??

Ruggs, Reagor and Lamb all looked good yesterday. Aiyuk DNP. Pittman, meh. Jefferson, meh. Higgins did nothing. Mims DNP.

Jeudy on deck tonight.

We think he looks good for the Jags? Not much of an accomplishment for a team trying to tank

Well i mean i watch the one where in Orlando he looked competent role player in the nba unlike here. What one are you watching cause i don’t know about you but averaging 12.1 ppg, 3.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists seems like it’s a competent nba player as a role player. I don’t know about you but that would say he’s at least competent player. That’s up 4 points from his tenure here and up 2 assists. And he actually plays a majority of their games.

so what nba are you watching?

That we are crap at evaluating talent.

The Wentz bashing is over the top. Did he have his best game? No. However, no quarterback would have had success behind that OL. The Eagles surrendered 8 sacks yesterday. The next highest total was 4.

Last year the Eagles suffered 2.6 sacks per game - tied for 15th most in the league. Same QB yet there was an excess of 5 sacks from their average.

And it could have been 12

its both.  Doug has this 70's-80's passing game mentality:  deep drop, throw deep.  Al Davis's wet dream.  Wentz has said it in the past: he doesnt give up on plays and isn't going to change.  It was fun in 2017, but since then its been frustrating and yesterday just completely busted the nut.  Both looked ridiculous with their decisions and both let the team down, and now for the entire relationship of coach, QB, team, they both have to change or change will knock on their door sooner than later.

I will say this for Carson, he is a much better QB and more accurate when his launch points are moved rather than a straight drop, survey, throw in time.  Doug calling what he does is the worst error a coach can make: square peg round hole and Doug does it so much, like he learned nothing from the end of last season.  Not a thing

I would argue about 4 of them were on wentz holding onto the ball way too long. That said he was also getting pummeled besides the sacks and avoided a couple by himself. The oline is a mess. Peters, herbig and Driscoll really have no business starting. I do think Driscoll in time will be fine. But peters looked old and out of shape. And herbig I’m sorry doesn’t cut it for me. Doug can spin it like he’ll get better more time and he’s smart but imo he’s at best a practice squad player. If that’s the type of line performance to expect this year we aren’t winning more than 5 games. I’d argue our oline performance was the worse i saw the entire day of watching football. That included the browns being the browns.

I thought about Miller for us, but guessing he just doesn't have it anymore.

If we were going that route better to go freeman. I think he still has something left and he actually is a good fit in our offense.

Agreed, but $$ comes into play with him

They are going to want to grab a RB before the Colts get the best available.

Adding a RB right now is pretty much the definition of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Yeah unfortunately. I think he’s more about money right now. Frankly might behoove the eagles to sign a veteran next offseason. Love sanders talent. But he left games early last year with nagging injuries and missed one already this year.
