So many things wrong with this I dont even know where to start. But sure man, he wants to go to Jacksonville lol

You’re just a hack. Nobody said that nobody made the assumption you accused me of you just don’t get it. The jets are a hopeless franchise and have been for years. Go be the next Sanchez that’ll be great for his development. If a year puts him into a real franchise it’ll serve him well. But you dodge logic and facts like it’s the matrix so I’m done

Thank you for talking about football.

Long term, do you see Herbig as a potential starter at RG?  I can't really get a read on him playing on the left side.

Yes, I can see him as a starter at RG. He's no Brooks, though, so don't expect that from him. He's not an explosive run blocker and he's not light on his feet, though he's much better than Pryor and certainly Brown, who doesn't move his feet at all. He does well on combo blocks, especially on the initial block, where he goes hip to hip with the C, but he doesn't release particularly well to the next level. To a large degree that's simply coaching and reps but he's never going to be as agile as Seumalo or as fast as Mailata.

Stoutland doesn't ask him to be either of those guys. What comes to mind when I watch Herbig is the things he doesn't do  or, rather, the things Stoutland doesn't ask him to do. He doesn't trap or pull. If you wonder why our outside zone is so anemic right now, it's because of that - Herbig is not a guy who can pull across a formation and block a LB in space. We're trying to run the play with a different blocking pattern but with TEs who are less than stellar blockers, we don't get much with those calls. Peterson keeps it in the active playbook just to keep defenses honest. And he also, believe it or not, has Mailata pulling, a scary sight for a defender, though that's a long way for a tackle to run, all the way across the formation and then turn upfield.

Herbig is a sound inside pass protector, which is the most important thing. He squares up well, moves his feet, bends his knees, and has good hand placement. We could do worse than to have him at RG and Driscoll at LG.

So we really don't talk too much about turnovers.  But it's having a material impact.

Looking at the Drive stats in Football Outsiders we will find that the Eagles defense is:

  • 3rd in yards per drive
  • 4th in plays per drive
  • 5th in TOP per drive
  • 7th in 3-and-Outs per drive

So why are we merely 17th in points per drive?  Two reasons, 1) we turn the ball over so we are 31st in starting field position on defense and 2) we don't get takeaways so we are 31st in turnovers per drive.

We all know turnovers matter.  But here is a quantitative manifestation.

I’m not sure what to make of this info, but here you go.

Herbig needs to cut about 20 pounds. He’s just sloppy looking.

We have to rank pretty low in RZ defense too.

Well 1-4-1 just isn't good.  We are definitely in a hole.   But the Season is in balance these next 4 weeks.  Giants tonight.  Cowboys in 10 days at home.  Then a full Bye week. Then Up to New York.  We must win these next 3 Division games starting with tonight.  We must start faster.  I think Carson is getting better but he's still making some mistakes.   The Turnovers have to come down.  But I like that he throwing downfield more and making plays with his feet.   As far as getting Jalen more involved.  I expect Doug to have some packages for him.  Defenses do get confused by his running.  I've seen flashes of a really good team this year. They need to bring it all together.   I know this is a crazy season we once again we've been hit with injuries but they have to play better.

Yes.  27th.

But then you'd have to start calibrating the Gerry-factor into your analyses.

Looking ahead.  If Mailata turns in the LT of the future, and the line works out the way I envision, next year we start

Mailati, Opeta, Kelce ( Seumalo if Kelce retires ) Brooks and Johnson.

What do we do with Dillard.  Would you trade him or transition him to right tackle to prepare for moving on from Lane Johnson ??

He can’t play RT. Trade him.

I feel like we get curb stomped tonight. Like a good old-fashioned taken behind the woodshed and whooped.

Coming off two games we were heavy underdogs and performed valiantly. Team probably thinks this Giants team is gonna be a pushover. NYG is hungry. It's prime time.

I just don't ha e a good feeling about this one. Hope I'm wrong.

Engaging who? What the F?

You are wrong

We brought some LB in for a tryout.

Jury is still out on Dillard and he deserves the opportunity to compete for a position next year, imo.   And no matter who wins out, there's little value in trading a (potential starter) at the tackle position, on a rookie deal, especially after seeing what happened this year, imo.

Calm down nancy.  It is a division game, its the Giants, the season is on the line.  This team will have no problem getting up for this game.

Some LB.  Good enough for me.  Sign him and cut Gerry.

I wasn't, I quoted What the F and Greend attacked me. I feel so violated.

This tweet has been my feelings lately.  12 personnel needs to go away.  Spread the field and let Carson move around and work.

I was hoping for a quiet morning tomorrow to watch the game, but I have to interview someone mid-morning and they have got in the way of my plans.

Now we get to see if Opeta is the real thing or just a PSer that passes through Philly.  Tough one for the kid, but they all are.

Go Birds.

I wonder if we’ll ever have the same OL configuration at some point this year. We’re now 0-for-7, right?

San Fran and Steelers started the same, but Johnson left early against Pitt

Does anyone think we will see a lot of Hurts tonight? Hurts at RB and Wentz at QB in the backfield sounds like a good plan. Don’t know who will get the snap.

Not sure but a good problem to have.
