Man, their LG sucks. We left a lot of plays on the field against their O-line

The Wentz bashing is over the top. Did he have his best game? No. However, no quarterback would have had success behind that OL. The Eagles surrendered 8 sacks yesterday. The next highest total was 4.

Last year the Eagles suffered 2.6 sacks per game - tied for 15th most in the league. Same QB yet there was an excess of 5 sacks from their average.

Com eon man.  They has been in the league 5 years.   We all knew the line sucked.  Do you think Wentz did too?   Because he did move around and he held the ball for 5 or 6 seconds and was directly responsible for 5 of the 8 sacks.  and the 2 picks were both horrible reads and throws.   and how many times are we gonna watch this dufuss fumble when the pocket breaks down around him after 6 seconds.   Not trying to be mean, but i think he might be a moron

Better would’ve been trying to convince warford to play this year and signing him. At least we’d have right guard stabilized.

someone who’s better at watching oline then me should specifically grade peters from yesterday. Driscoll is a rookie so i can understand his Mistakes. But peters just looked like he was done.

Wrong

All that money that should have went to Barnett this off-season is going to Josh Sweat...who will be incentivized to take guaranteed money given his injury history.

Their LT isn’t much better with Geron Christian. I thought the DL looked good at the start of the game Pass rushing wise. and as the game wore on Looked more tired and fatigued. Maybe first game of the year conditioning. Also not having guys like Barnett and hargraves to take some major Snaps. But really felt after halftime besides Sweat the pass rush wasn’t great.

How so?   Outside of being a fanboy, how can you debate holding the ball for 6 seconds when the line was crap?   And the picks werent his fault?   SAme pass - twice!   and they were directly responsible for two Washington TDS

Regarding the option to "throw it away", it's not always as simple as blaming the QB. To do so would require the stipulation that the QB actually senses when and where the pressure is coming from, and then has either broken the pocket, or has an outlet designed into the play itself to facilitate throwing it away without risking a grounding penalty.

Sensing pressure while efficiently going through your progressions is quite difficult to do if your OL is being caved in or allowing free rushers repetitively. It'll rattle even the most seasoned of QBs. And if the play itself doesn't have a designated route near the sidelines, (e.g. an "abort the play" outlet valve, or a check down to the RB) then taking a sack is all but inevitable if the QB can't break the pocket. Watching the offense line up in a bunch set, and then blaming the QB for not throwing it away in the 2 seconds it took for a free rusher to crash into him, is pretty hilarious.

Which brings me to my last point, he looks like he's lost a significant amount of mobility. Not sure if it's the added weight from the offseason, the injuries adding up, or what, but instead of trying to roll out of the pocket to make dudes miss, he was just bending forward and turtling up when someone was bearing down on him. That's not a good sign, and is basically a neck injury waiting to happen.

Well i mean i watch the one where in Orlando he looked competent role player in the nba unlike here. What one are you watching cause i don’t know about you but averaging 12.1 ppg, 3.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists seems like it’s a competent nba player as a role player. I don’t know about you but that would say he’s at least competent player. That’s up 4 points from his tenure here and up 2 assists. And he actually plays a majority of their games.

so what nba are you watching?

A guy that isn't that good.  If he's a role player he won't touch those numbers.  Nonetheless, i hope he has a long career.

Former NFL OL have weighed in on this. A most, they attribute the blame to Wentz on two occasions. I would argue one of these.

Lmao I'll bet anything on the way under

Again did i say he was good? He is a role player. That’s how they use him and he had those numbers. Lol. I said competent. To me having 12-5-3 is competent. That doesn’t mean good. It means he’s capable of having a role in the nba as a rotation guy. There’s far worse players currently on the sixers that can’t get those numbers

They are going to want to grab a RB before the Colts get the best available.

why when we only run 25% of the game. No need for another RB to get 3-5 carries a game.

It feels like they're dead set on rolling over all their cap room to 2020, I doubt they sign anyone.

Absolutely, no argument here.

But I don't want to destroy promising young players by asking them to do things they have no business doing.  That's Pryor at either OT instead of RG, Boston Scott as a 3-down back instead of a 3rd down scatback, Mailata flipping between the right and left sides, Driscoll playing 4 positions as a rookie, and playing any other young, developing guys out of position.

To that extent, I support rearranging deck chairs mid-season so that the young players can survive.

Chicken & egg.  The uselessness of Clement and Scott was part of the low run count.

Wash ran the ball over 25 times and had 2.2 ypc that's good D. Haskins on his pass drops got the ball out quick and cox saw a ton of double teams as usual. Would help if Schwartz rushed more than 4 guys every play but it is what it is  D played well, eagles O put em in too many bad situations☹️

Random but Mark Ingram and JK Dobbins combined for 3 yards/carry yesterday. Think that stopped the Ravens from forgetting about their run game?

Extending Goedert/Sweat is easy to do within their cap structure. Use the rookie number for 2021 + use signing bonus for cap hit to increase in future years.
Signing UFAs is much harder.

Rather see what hunytleys got. Other than pass protection coming in ad a Rookie RB isn't as tough.

I loved the Sweat draft pick, like Sweat the player, and want to see him start over Barnett.

To call him a dominant 10+ sack edge rusher is from the same thread of logic that labeled Jamar Chaney the best MIKE in the NFL, Pryor a monster, JJAW the mold of Mike Thomas, and the people that rattle off the names of all our crappy offensive weapons and say "how will defenses defend ALL of them?"

Why could not Pederson see that? The D was playing really well at the beginning of the game. Once the Eagles got up 17-0 you would think he would have more faith in the D and adopt a more conservative strategy for the offense.

Goedert is a must extend.  Sweat hasn't done enough yet for anyone to really care.

It’s not just the run game with backs. You could get creative and get guys like hightower or reagor the ball in their hands on runs. We wanted to be like the niners well the niners got deebo Samuel the ball In the passing game and In the running game on end around and motion handoffs. We saw none of that yesterday

Going "back" serves no purpose but heck off the top of my head finally reflecting on Sunday, what I was really disappointed in was the coaching staff not recognizing the mismatch and just throwing the ball to Clement 22 times.

If they had, we probably still would have won that game.

Corey's ready to go.  What you saw yesterday was a group of Pro players who had no preseason, no live snaps, who just trot out there thinking it was all going to click.

It didn't but they showed flashes of being the offense they "can" be. I'm nowhere near as worried as your average fan overreacting today.

Beat the Rams all is forgotten.
