Yes, and we are watching her bend toward the massive middle in real time as well which I think is ultimately where she could put together the beef in a winning Obama style coalition.

This country is at least 50 years away from electing a woman president. Probably closer to a hundred if ever. The Republicans could run Jared from Subway against a woman and still win. Not happening.

Jared from Subway feels like a natural fit for the GOP in 2026.

I was like "who is a loathsome pedo that the gop would absolutely run” and he immediately came to mind

Really anyone that still supported him after Jan 6th is a fascist but close enough

Amy Walter returns to the pod for a pundit therapy session.

He'd be a waaaaay too sensible of a nominee.....

which means the Dems will screw it up and instead put up some lunatic who will really struggle with certain parts of the electorate

When we won in 2020 it was really interesting to see the dems do a course correct in the primaries nominating someone who could and did actually win. So maybe lightening will strike twice.

Whoever is most apt to start criminally charging all of this nonsense needs to be the frontrunner.

Only concern with Ossoff is if Keisha Lance Bottoms doesn't win the GA Gov race, then whatever the Rep dipsheet who's running would get to fill the seat should Ossoff vacate it. It would be pretty hard for Dems to give up a GA seat like that.

It's a very different party than 2000 - remember, a lot of the BLM, Woke stuff happened after Biden had basically secured the nomination. Now, moving up South Carolina will help a more normal Democrat (Maine is heaven for the white super progressives like Bernie), but the rise of the DSA has radically changed things since 2020.

Also, it's cute you guys think Ossoff can win the nomination.

I still think Newsome has the best chance but I wouldn't mind Ossoff either. AOC is a pipe dream, just like Bernie was. A vocal minority will keep her in the conversation, but I don't think she has any real chance of winning the nomination.

Nominating another CA Democrat seems like a bad strategy, but I agree he's likely the favorite as of now.

At least until Stephen A. Smith gets involved...

The DSA gets bogged down in the Midwest and Southeast and then doesn't really have a path to victory.

Dems moving their first primary here isn't an accident.

SC was where Biden picked up enough steam to essentially take Bernie off the table as an option right? Can't recall if it was there or Georgia, but either way, it resulted in the better candidate getting the nomination in the end, and gave them the best chance to retake the White House (which they obviously did.) I think it's a good move to start it off there but I still think the better method would be to have a super Tuesday on steroids and have 30-40 states all having their primary on the same day, with any needed runoffs to come a month later. Otherwise these early primaries could have undue influence on the overall process even if it can still result in the better positioned nominee in the end.
