How is it a lose for him if he says no I don’t want to be traded, then he’s traded anyway? That would mean he didn’t want to be traded but the team had other ideas. Wouldn’t look bad on him at all.

To a normal person sure, but to the hot take media they'd run with it calling him weak, a fraud and a liar. They've already called him weak minded even though Shefter came out and said it was basically his opinion of what the outcome could be.

His agent probably told him to keep his mouth shut until after he sits down with Doug, Howie and Jeff.

Overanalyze much?  Why does he need to speak about any of it?  He doesn't owe Les (or anyone else) anything.  When he does, you will just analyze every word to determine "what he really said".

Overanalyze? Arent you the guy who makes 13 paragraph Good, Bad, and Ugly threads for a 4-11-1 team? 😂

Very good advice, too. The only problem with it is that the yammerers and propagandists don't get eyes and clicks that way. Poor Poor Pitiful them.

It’s just simple logic that if he DIDN’T want out and the rumors were false, he’d come out and say so. His silence on the subject says it all.

Do you respond to all of the rumors about you just to clear the air?  Or are you hiding something?

Quit being so stupid.

Cause Doug is his coach? What kind of question is that? Why would carson go to media with anything before his own team? The media is trash I wouldn't say anything to them either. They are the ones that put all this sheet out there to begin with why would carson trust what he says to them not to get twisted?

He declined to comment. He declined to take the opportunity to dispel the rumours. If he wanted to stay why wouldn't he just say that?

Carson is most likely in limbo because he doesn't really know (yet) what the Eagles are thinking.  He, himself, I'm sure will not be happy being demoted to being a backup.  And if the team expresses to him that they want to move forward with Hurts, I'm sure he will want out...and who could blame him.  Now, if he's told there will be an open competition for the job, and he still wants out...that's another story.

The big question is, which QB would be better to roll with next year?  Wentz or Hurts?  My gut tells me Wentz will be gone, and he will excel elsewhere.  I'm just not sure he can excel in Philly anymore...too much mental baggage here weighing him down.  That said, I'm certainly not "sold" on Hurts at this point...but they probably have to go with him and see what happens.

I think this is very true and accurate. I think Wentz probably wants to know what the teams intentions are and if he isn't happy with that approach then he may ask to be traded. I think Howie and Doug are going to try and sell him hard on staying and that's a mistake in my opinion but I think ultimately they'll convince him to stay.

Whoa...this is pretty brutal...

Another clown losing his mind over opinions and rumors, all while thinking Carson owes them something. All that matters is what's being or will be discussed with him and Eagles FO.

Oh and BTW..

Those threads are one of the best parts of this board

Meh, I don't believe this is Wentz. It very well could be his agent or his "handlers" making noise to see what's available out there, but I think if Wentz stands by his convictions of faith, I don't see how he could walk away without making a sincere attempt to mend any rifts. Is this really Rodgers-McCarthy? Can't see it yet. Likewise, I would expect this organization to bring in every resource at their disposal to mold their significant investment back to top caliber form. The only way this rumor comes true is if the FO and coaching staff are as truly dysfunctional as everyone surmises (including me during my own exasperated rants) and/or Wentz is not a mature character guy.

He was asked by the media and he declined to comment. If its untrue why does he need to talk to Doug about it first? Just dispel the rumor.

Put yourself in his shoes, or think about how things work at your job or company.  There's a controversy and situation that you need to settle internally.  The media is frothing at the mouth to spin and take out of context anything you say...or don't say.  Even when they say something, it is dismissed as covering up or saying what is expected so what's the point?

The team has already said they want Carson, believe in him and they invested in him.  But people don't believe that.  So if Carson says "I didn't demand a trade, that didn't come from me" then everyone says oh it was his agent, or someone he knows, he's escaping blame by saying it wasn't him.  If he says it wasn't him, his agent or anyone associated with him, then some still wouldn't believe him and say it's just saying it for the media and public stance or for negotiation leverage or something.

It really doesn't matter what they say, people spin how they want and have already made up their minds.  The only thing that will truly settle this is if he is actually traded, or they make a joint statement that Carson will be on the team in 2021.  Yet even then, people would say yeah but what if some team like the Colts make an offer... it never ends in Philadelphia.

All he has to say is the rumors aren’t true. It’s that simple. Saying  nothing actually says  lot. He’s been in Philadelphia long enough to understand that.

Do you think everyone would believe him and stop speculating if Carson said the rumor isn't true, and I want to be in Philadelphia?

The supporters just don’t get it. They don’t even realize his thumbing his nose to them as they’re kissing his beanbag.

It would put him on record denying the rumors. It would absolutely go a long way to fixing the issue. Now he just looks like the whiny kid that took his ball cause he wasn’t picked to play. Leaving speculation does nothing good for him or the organization.

Zach Ertz is out there crying for the organization and the fans,  but y’all can’t  wait to see him go. Wentz blows you off, but y’all still defending him.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like him figuring out if he truly trusts this organization is more important than appeasing the media/fans.

No but if he came out on day one of the rumors and said 'This is nuts, I never said I wanted to be traded and I want to stay here in Philadelphia' it would have gone a long way for a lot of people. While I am one that thinks that players shouldnt address rumors, this is one of those times where it is better to say something then nothing at all.

Trust the organization??? He’s paid by the organization. They guaranteed him money. Can they trust he will act like an adult instead of a petulant child?

Yes trust them. They have given him a chance to play in the NFL and an extension, for that I have no doubt he's very grateful. However, on the field they have failed him multiple times over.

How's DK doing? How's Justin Jefferson doing? Doug could possibly stick with the run while Carson is sucking arse back there. Just a few thoughts.

Oh and petulant child? He has been seen on the sidelines helping Hurts. You know the guy that replaced him!

He’s failed them more than they have failed him. He’s not doing what they asked him to do and has constantly butted heads with people in the organization. Bottom line is he doesn’t want to be an Eagle. The GM is addressing it. The coach is addressing it. The player ran away like a child.
