IMO, it is not about competition with Hurts, its about not using that pick to draft a player who could help this year.

Could have taken AJ Epenesa, JK Dobbins, Kristian Fulton, Willey Gay, Jeremy Chinn ( reported that he was the highest player on the Eagles board when they went on the clock )

Its a safe bet that Wentz isn't worried about competing with a Taysom Hill knockoff, throwing RB.

Wentz apologist will shoot down every and any rumor. They will say it is not credible. Apparently everything is false unless it comes from the player directly or their agent. Maybe they are right or maybe they are wrong. But so many stories have come out about Wentz and when there is smoke there is fire. Wentz's silence says a lot.

Malcolm Jenkins said on national TV that Wentz has an ego and the organization's treatment of Wentz has not helped. Earlier rumors about Duce not liking how the Eagles "babied" Wentz lines up with what Jenkins said. Reading between the lines, Jenkins essentially said there are concerns around Wentz taking accountability. image what Jenkins left out of his story and experience. Let me guess I heard it all wrong or Jenkins is not a credible source.

I guess Wentz needs to go on IG Live and tell everyone he wants out or it is not true.

Well, whatever happens next doesn't negate the fact that Hurts and Kelce already stated that Wentz was a good teammate, helping Hurts discuss defensive reads and this was even seen on camera during the games.

This after 2 season of precise examples of why a 'competent backup' is essential for this team? (one season where a competent backup was converted into a SB win, one without couldn't win a playoff game) The only constant was that up to that point, Carson couldn't finish a season.

Well in that case; as bad as Doug coached last season, I'd still rather HIM coach the team than Carson Wentz. In fact if ANY player starts second-guessing coach on what he 'should've done', that is NOT constructive and is cancerous. Help or shut up.

If Carson can ball out this training camp and take the starter's job from a very talented Jalen Hurts, NO ONE will be happier than myself(maybe Jeffery and Howie). As soon as he does SOMETHING, anything to indicate he's not this guy we saw last season and wants to atone to the team and fans, that he's not this ...much less-talented Sam Bradford-wannabee whining diva that never has to work for a boss again (and won't) I'M LISTENING.

I think some people need to be reminded that it's the Philadelphia Eagles, not the Philadelphia Wentz's. The sooner they move on from this prima donna the better.

I've been a big Wentz supporter since the Eagles drafted him. And still a few days ago I thought he could turn things around and that the best option for the team was to try to "fix" him. But then I read what Jenkins had to say about him and I'm less confident that he's actually a good person, let alone a good QB.

Maybe he is indeed a diva that didn't want to be coached, and if that's the case, then he should be traded for whatever they can get. And if this is true, I'll absolutely hate him for forcing the team to fire Doug.

The fact that now it is being reported that he wants "out" is wonderful and funny. I say force him to ride bench the rest of his career. Really stick it to him force him to retire so we can get back some money. Dude was never worth the money we gave him and I still hate that we didn't trade him after 2018 season.

He also didn't praise his O line or receivers - ooh, controversy!    Jalen said in previous press conferences that Carson helped him on the sidelines, and Kelce said the same and that Carson was a good teammate.  These players aren't going to make sure to check off every box in every interview so that a few random fans to get worked up about gossip.

You like to look for things that aren't there, or find what you want to see in the narrative.

Jason Kielce is one of his best buds. That dude loved everyone. He went from tearing down signs for Reid, to supporting Chip Kelly for gutting the team, to saying he would always play for Pederson. Kielce isn’t exactly the best judge of character here. Meanwhile Malcom Jenkins says the Eagles coddled Wentz too much, but y’all don’t want to believe him because you all think he’s way too "disgusted” he didn’t get to play for a 4 win football team. 🤷‍♂️

Right now, it looks like it might cost assets to unload Wentz. Maybe just tell him to stay home next season.

QB is in play at 6.

At the end of the day the team knows exactly what carson wants. Fans and media not knowing and losing their minds over it is their problem not the teams.

Oh it will be their problem when the players tune out the great one (again) and he leads them to another three win season. 😂

I believe Jenkins. The coaches coddled Wentz. Wentz himself said he won't change his aggressive style.

That doesn't negate Kelce and Hurts - you left him out of your reply - said Carson is a good teammate.

You can't believe unsubstantiated made up speculation by reporters with no evidence...then discredit actual players from their own mouths because you find a reason to toss out their testimony.

This is the point I've been making. Even when direct sources state the fact, you don't believe them. But you believe reporters even when they literally say they are guessing.

The direct source is 11 and he’s not talking while he’s basically making national news. He could have easily dispersed all of this when he came out and praised McLeod. He could have gave a slight mention to next season and working hard together or something. Letting the people know he wants to be here. He’s working hard to keep us all in limbo. He’s sending a message. You keep implying I’m wrong, but your proof he wants to be here is based on what?

If Wentz wanted to be here, he’d have spoken up by now. Period. He is not oblivious to all of the speculation and "rumors”. If he wanted to be here, and was truly the leader and franchise QB that he seems to think he is, he’d have opened his damn mouth by now.

His silence says everything. He wants out, and the team should make that happen. I don’t care if you start Hurts next season or take a guy like Fields if he’s there to be had at 6. Just get Wentz out. I’m tired of the dude.

I'm just speculating, but what if the FO asked him not to speak in public once he requested to be traded? I mean, if he says publicly that he wants out, his value drops considerably.

So, maybe Carson agreed to help the team as long as they promised that a deal was going to be in place at the right time.

Who knows? I'm tired about this drama. I wish he wanted to stay and tried to get back to the player he once was. I'd be rooting for him every single game hoping that he becomes elite again. On the other hand, if he indeed wants to be traded, I'll be very disappointed. The organization and the city have given him everything. What did he expect? Of course he was going to be criticized for his poor play, and I don't agree with the pick of Hurts, but I thought he had the character and talent to overcome adversity.

Look how this all played out. The Eagles literally drafted a guy people around here are calling an HBack/Full back, and the so called franchise quarterback folded like a lawn chair it the worst possible time and that competition. After all that he’s gone silent and basically looks like he took his ball and left. How does anyone think a guy like that won’t crumble in the playoffs? I guess the proof is in the pudding considering the guy has been here since 16 and has zero playoff victories to show for it.

They fired Pederson, most likely at least to some degree to make Wentz happy and here we are weeks later and he has still yet to comment and deny the trade demand rumors. Meanwhile you have Schefter on 97.l5 this morning saying he still wants to be traded and if he had to guess he thinks it will happen. Wentz seems like a good guy. As a football player, teammate, and employee though he seems to be every bit the overly sensitive, entitled, prima donna **** boy he is reported to be. The sooner the organization can move on from this constant drama and problem the better.

EXACTLY. There are a lot of people here who can't seem to use common sense when it comes to this situation. Either that or they are in denial.

Well it seems McNabb has now weighed in on this. I’m sure the apologists will dismiss this too. After all what does an NFL veteran who actually played quarterback in Philadelphia know about the inner workings of the Eagles feeling betrayed by the team, how they think right?

He said they should trade him, but probably won’t because Howie is tied to him and it puts him on the hot seat.  So he basically added another fact of why he won’t be traded.

So the bottom line is he should be traded.
