Funny how after working up the Philly fan base into a frenzy about a trade happening fast (their reporting since Thursday, Friday of last week and earlier), the Philly media now is soooooo quiet, you the ink drops from their pens. Where are you guys NOW? They are a joke.

I think I'm still an Eagles fan, but at this point I'm hoping for the most hilariously bad outcome for this whole fiasco, just so we can laugh more at Howie.

Some things just ain't funny. 😂

Yes get off the fence Carson.

I love it- NOBODY can stand that they can't make Wentz do what THEY want him to do! Now Seth is making wishes to the football fairy godmother. S'matter, Seth- Carson won't grant your personal wishes? Too damn bad. I don't care about what happens anymore, but Wentz doesn't have to grant people THEIR little hearts desires.

Fan base will be like:

1. Wentz plays at MVP level after trade- "See, I told you so!"
2. Wentz never plays well again- "See, I told you so!"

Considering he's only played at an "MVP Level" one season (a 13 game season) out of his entire 5 year career, I feel pretty safe in saying we don't have to worry about #1.

Whining behind closed doors is still whining. What's the difference? Guy is clearly a whiny loser who doesn't have the mental makeup to be great. Now things aren't going his way and he's demanding a trade. Probably why he went to North Dakota State, he couldn't handle possibly not being the grand poobah at a D1 school.

My deceased brother's name is Bill and he was a great Eagles fan.  You besmirch the name "Bill".  Using a Flintstones/Hapoy reference doesn't redeem you.

Great reply!

Am I the only one with that feeling that we will not be very happy with the result of the trade after we it happens?...if it happens...

Howie has been a total idiot- the last few year in particular, but he also has made some deals that smoked the other team. So, ok Howie.... got anymore tricks left up your sleeve? Can you dupe another team into a deal where they get burned and you and the Eagles come out on top? Or is ALL of your GM magic dust gone?

Imagine sitting on your rear posting on a message board calling a professional athlete a loser. For a long time I thought we were all too smart to be WIP listeners and/or callers, Jesus H was I wrong. What a bunch of clowns 🤣

But... but .... but.... it makes us feel better about ourselves....

Love that I'm not a real fan because I don't support running a terrible QB out there for the next 5 years just for the fact that he had a good 13 game run in 2017 with one of the best rosters this franchise has ever seen.

I wonder how many of these new screen names are Wentz burner accounts?

By golly you got me.  Shucks

I think I may have done a 180 on the wentz situation. I’ve went from feeling the right thing is to trade him and get whatever haul we can for him, to now feeling that the return might not be worth the risk that we lose out on a franchise qb. This comes with a caveat that if a team is willing to part with multiple high picks you need to consider it. But right now it feels like we’re definitely selling low on the back of one bad season.

Wentz played atrociously last season no doubt, but he has been at minimum a very good qb for us every other season (an elite one in one of them). Everyone wants to say that 2017 was a fluke, maybe 2020 was too? I think we saw the real wentz in 2018/19 and I’m happy having a player of that calibur heading the offense in truth. I’d rather we now kept him, built an offense that suits his skill set.

Theres a risk with either approach. On one hand you might end up parting with a free brees calibur qb and look like fools forever more. On the other, maybe wentz really is broken and you miss your chance at getting any significant return for him. The reality will likely be a softer version of either extreme.

There has literally never been a good franchise QB that has had a year as bad as wentz had last year.

Hoping he will be the first in NFL history is something I’ll pass on.

Drew Brees third year is close

I’d hold off on that proclamation, go look at Matthew Stafford 2012, or drew brees 2003. These are just 2 that come to mind, I’m sure roethlisberger has had a couple of appalling seasons as well but could be wrong.

Counterpoint, the numbers do not back that up, the numbers point to a slightly above average QB at best who kept interceptions down running an offense where most of his passes were to a mismatched Tight End sat in the soft spot or a slot guy running a shallow crossing route 5-9 yards right in front of him.

A great QB raises the team a level, Wentz at best played down to his supporting cast and last season dragged them into an abyss.

If the league really believed that last year was an outlier, we'd be in the middle of an auction now, with NFL journalists all over the country talking about what they've heard such and such a  team is willing to pony up, instead we're talking about throwing in players to sweeten the pot.

Ben 2006

The smart move would be to keep Dillard and Mailata at least through next year.  If Colts want extra compensation, fine, but our cupboard is far too bare at OL to be moving any pieces.  Give em a high priced DL piece... we have far too many of them.  F... give em Graham if it helps us get a good package and get rid of Wentz.  I'm sure the Colts could use a solid DL piece. Would much rather give em Ertz, Wentz, and a pick (or lower our asking price) though.

Now I'm starting to think he stays.

Looking more and more like the whole trade thing was a hoax.

Surely they would've pulled the trigger on something by now. Even Howie is not that dumb.

Stafford in 2012, while definitely his worst year, was still much better than Wentz this year. I’ll give you Drew Brees, although it was his second year in the league as a starter....not his 5th.

Yes Big Ben had a bad year in 2006 following his SuperBowl victory the year before. If wentz won the superbowl in 2019 then yeah I wouldn’t be over here saying to trade him after his horrid 2020.

It was really his second year. But yea true it was close.

None of the cases anyone has raised has been in the player concerned 5th season, when they've signed the extension to be THE GUY, Wentz went 4 years looking competent before becoming the worst QB in the league, what he did is unprecedented, I know there are articles out there that explain just how unusual it is, like fingers of one hand rare in the history of the NFL.

Reports said soon, by mid-week, by Wednesday...

It's almost Friday now. Not saying it won't happen, but reports about how soon were wrong.
