I really don't care if he says anything for not. I just appreciate stand up character, something he doesnt seem to portray.

Ask everyone that KNOWS him about his character. Ask people who are the closest to him about his character. Ask the foundation he funds that helps very sick children and the children themselves about his character. Ask his pastor and church friends about his character. I could keep going, but I don't need to.

You didn't do any of that. You are listening to what the media says, and what the media says other players have said. You listen to people that are NOT close to him and don't have the facts, but not the people who really know him... and you have judged him as a man lacking character. You seem to portray a person that has based his opinion on rumors and gossip, instead of facts. That's shaky ground, but hey- it's your ground, it's your judgement of him, so there's that. Anything else you want to discuss?

What does this even mean?  Some of the most gigantic a-holes in the World have raised tons of money for charity and gone to church.

Considering he's only played at an "MVP Level" one season (a 13 game season) out of his entire 5 year career, I feel pretty safe in saying we don't have to worry about #1.

So how often do quarterbacks play at "MVP levels"?

I would guess it means (in your scenario) that it makes them a little less of a gigantic a-hole. Haters gonna hate though bro

I don't believe we will get a 1st round for him..heck I wouldn't give a first  round for him

3rd for Golden Tate for half a year.

4th for Avery, what's he done?

This is like contracts and cap. He had some hits in the past but his new stuff is garbage.

Tate was a rent where you got comp back.

avery is bad but I thought it was a good trade at the time. Pretty good upside. But you scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with examples. No one bats 1.000. Howie for the most part has done well in trades. Can’t believe I’m defending this clown Howie

I always kind of rolled my eyes at the "Audience of 1" thing, charitable works aside. "I play the game for Jesus!" Yeah, ok. Pretty sure Jesus doesn't care about football. Maybe the problem is Wentz only cares what he  supposedly thinks that "Jesus" thinks of his play on the field rather than coaches, teammates, the city, etc.

Maybe you are misrepresenting what Wentz thinks/believes because you either don't understand or just want to bash him in another area.

Well, the Colts offered 2x 2nd. The Bears reportedly have the highest offer.. Doesn't seem too far from a first, does it?

Maybe, but I'm just going off what I've read, which is that the A01 means he plays the game for God.

Those of us that follow Jesus are supposed to do everything in life like you are doing it for him. IOW give your best effort at all times. As it tell us in 1 Cor. 10:31

His teammates and coaches have always praised his character, work ethic and leadership. Doug said he handled the benching like a professional. Hurts said he was a help to him on the sidelines discussing the defensive looks.

The people criticizing his character about this trade situation...I wonder how they conduct themselves at work when things happen to them.

True, but I could also see the perspective being warped into a kind of arrogant view of "It doesn't matter what these people think, only God can judge me!" Sometimes people get things twisted through the lens of religion.

I think you may not fully understand the concept. If you're going to attack it, you might want to understand it better.

I'm not attacking the concept, but I am questioning his use of it.

Yeah, I guess it could be. I would doubt that's his line of thought, but I have heard that coming from people trying to justify some kind of a-hole thing they've done or are about to.

Good point

Audience of one is a phrase others have used, it means he's the most important.

"Only cares about...rather?" What makes you claim that?

You guys are reaching with these made up straw men to hate on Wentz.

That can happen sure. What evidence do you have to claim Wentz is like that?

I don't hate Wentz, but I do think he has a pretty narrow/self-centered perspective on his play, and it could at least be partially due to being dismissive of what others think because his mind is locked onto this idea that the only one whose judgment matters aren't the people that are primarily judging his play in reality.

Honestly, I think fans know that the real anomaly  was the 2020 season. It was terrible by many standards including his own. Just as easily as he "regressed" this last season, he will likely bounce back to his pre 2020 performance. However, around here, heads need to roll when something isn't right. Many fans have gone "all in" on moving on from Carson. In order to feel good about that decision, they are tanking his character and trying to paint a picture where there is no other option. That way, when he bounces back with his next team, they can justify their actions in the lynch mob and say something like, "well, he left us no choice but to deal him."

Football is his current platform, so he does use that to promote it. He doesn't use AO1 to promote his football career.

Don't know...feels like our position will just get worse the longer this will drag on

Two 2nds is more than fair.  Obviously try to get more, but when push comes to shove Howie will have to accept.

Too bad his focus is on using football for extraneous pursuits instead of football itself being his priority, especially since he’s getting paid $35M/yr.  That lack of focus compared to actual stud QB’s is why his career is floundering.
