Hurts had a great super bowl, and so did the defense.Hurts had more pass yards (the stat many are obsessed with) in the NFCCG vs Commies than he did in the Super Bowl which you acknowledge was great. He had a 110.1 passer rating and also had 3 rush TDs vs his 1 rush TD in the SB. Against the Packers that year in the Wild Card round he also had 2 pass TDs, passer rating 111.4. His first ever playoff game in 2021 for example - with crappy receivers plus rookie Smitty - he had 258 yards, a TD, 2 INT. That's his 2nd highest yardage, more than the SB win. And before you say stats don't matter, they matter when fans complain about low passing numbers.

September 13Sep 13 Panthers defensive coordinator needs to be fired. He has no idea who he is playing. He game planned for Drew Bledsoe.

Dude was on another level that entire post season…along with Saquon and the D.He also has the clutch factor and is a winner. When he makes mistakes, throws an INT, loses a game, he stays focused and hungry and bounces back. He has traits that people used to criticize McNabb for not having. With Hurts you're going to get a lot of games with low passing numbers, rush yards and TDs and sometimes game management. In the SB win, the Chiefs took out Barkley and Hurts responded with a great performance. Hurts won't ever be a top passer slinging it like many fans want. But some QBs put up fantasy stats and don't win anything. And there are excuses for all these other QBs that they need support around them that's what's holding them back...yet they say Hurts needs talent around him to win. Well, duh. It's a team sport, everyone needs talent around them to win. A QB can't do it by themselves.
September 13Sep 13 Well just based on the way things are going week 1, the biggest offseason question just may be if Arch Manning will demand the Browns pass on him.

September 13Sep 13 7 minutes ago, devpool said:He's played single digit GREAT games in his career, it's at least 2 because of the super bowls. Great strawman though! You and others repeatedly bring up Allen and Burrow when peopem criticize them, that's what creates the Hurts debate. You make it seem like they wouldn't have the same or better success with these teams. No ish, no QB does it on his own. Hurts needs MORE than those QBs because he isn't on their level, and honestly it isn't even close17 minutes ago, NOTW said:I agree Allen and Burrow and probably some others would win with this roster. I've never claimed Hurts is above some of these other guys. I simply point out the hypocrisy of arguments. Every QB has flaws. Some of these QBs people make excuses for them but are overly critical of Hurts (he has his flaws and weaknesses too). There have been games I called for Hurts to be benched because he was playing badly and they needed a change in that game. I don't go to any extremes negative or positive, it's just funny the people who are so hypocritical in their comparisions. You're just saying anything. I'll let you carry on with delusions.Go Birds.

A few of those Hail Marys getting picked off should do the trick. I need Ben Johnson to be sad too. If the Bears could also lose every game that would be great.

September 13Sep 13 16 minutes ago, NOTW said:Yeah I point out the hypocrisy and how silly it comes across when you do it with other team's QBs. And trashing other teams is also fun, like the overrated Rams. When it's your own team, it gets ridiculous. Btw I have a couple people on ignore who do nothing but over the top unrealistic praise for Hurts, that's annoying too and insufferable to read. But the offense is not "in shambles" when Hurts misses 1 guy. In games AJ Brown missed, Smitty and Goedert had huge numbers. He also made the playoffs in 2021 with rookie Smitty and garbage otherwise with Quez, Reagor, JJAW and Greg Ward. With those guys he only had 600 yards less than when he had his MVP runner up year that even Hurts biggest critics acknowledge as a good year for him. Then how come the story is always that Hurts didnt play well because he was missing his top weapon, or his TE? You look back at stats, and forget how the games actually went. By the way, I never talk about Allen, Herbert, Burrow.... and very rarely see others do it in here either.
September 13Sep 13 Offenses ahead of the defense so far. We'll see if it continues in the Eagles game, usually it's the other way week 1 and offenses start slow.

He’s far from a great QB, but he def wasn’t Trent Dilfer and the Ravens. I’m completely ok with never knowing what Hurts can do with a not optimally talented team. This whole convo is kind of funny, because Allen and Burrow are fantastic QB’s. Herbie…i get the dislike and slander. Sucks some people can’t contain their hate enough to talk rationally.
September 13Sep 13 Dalton as QB2?? 🤔🤔"Magically increase” his value. Then flip him for a 6th, based upon what NFL team may need a backup QB after week 1 or week 2?
