Jalen Hurts out for rest of season with blood clots

The verdict is in on Hurts already

And your verdict is?

I hope Hurts is Ok......blood clots can be nasty business. I'm glad they're resting him.

This presents an opportunity for Roseman......If McKee plays well, it's a good showcase for his skills for a potential trade. Howie has to determine if this team has a legitimate shot at not only making the playoff but also how deep they can go, over the next 4 games.

If McKee plays well but they continue to lose, McKee becomes a trade chip for draft picks.

If McKee plays well, they win and Hurts is out multiple weeks, it becomes the typical Philly QB controversy.

If McKee plays poorly, his trade value drops and he likely leaves in free agency.

Also, I don't know if Dickerson is playing against the panthers, but we have to wonder about his effectiveness until we see some of the old Dickerson. Steen should be replaced...he's rated at the bottom of the interior line rankings.

But most of all, if Mannion and the offense don't show some substantial improvement and they continue to lose, Howie may really try to stock up draft picks in 2027 & 2028.

Well if this is true then we are going to find out a lot about Tanner McKee this season.

force him to play quarterback and he's cooked. he has to run to be the most effective. that's not a great qb.

I swear ... this year's cliche of the year on the EMB is "cooked."

Hurts going on IR

Next year's cliche will be "braised".

I think this triggers us getting a new QB for 2027.

There's a possibility

I just saw it on Good Morning Football....ouch, out for the rest of the season....might as well see what Milton can do.....

I don't think that is career ending, but yeah, his season is over for sure.

Damn, hope he recovers well...that goes without saying. I wish nothing but the best for Hurts, the person.

As for our QB situation...I have to imagine that will be determined by where we end up in the draft and what QBs are within striking distance. Could be a scenario where Hurts is back for next year, we use the 2027 draft and offseason to bone-up the OL first and foremost, and DL (Edge Rushers). Then in 2028, consider QB.

Hopefully the blood thinners work to remove the blood clots and he makes a full recovery. There is a real possibility he may have played his last game in an Eagles uniform. His condition clearly took a turn for the worst.

Really bad news for the Eagles Franchise and the Hurts family.

Team expects a full recovery. Maybe he plays next year. His season is over.

I blame the offensive line for this. Hurts was hit so many times it caused this problem.

I wish Jalen nothing but the best no matter what happens... Person before player I wish him health! Jalen owes us nothing... Get well!

I really hope he makes a full recovery. At this point football doesn't matter. If they knew he had a clot he should never have flown to London.

I don't think his career is over, but the recovery time for something like this varies on the person. Five years ago or so this was an issue for all-pro guard Trey Smith who was a consensus first round pick if not for this, and ended up going undrafted. Recovered, signed with KC and is now a multiple time pro bowler and possible HOF'er. I hope for Jalen as the person that he can recover, but the Eagles have to do what's best for the franchise even if that means moving forward without him.

I believe it was the jaguars game he got cleated that formed the clot. Not before

Didn't it happen against the Rams?

Yes I was wrong, but I guess there something going on where he was cleared to play for the jaguars.

It won’t be pretty…. not that it’s been great lately anyways.

It was the Rams and they knew about the clot. They probably made it worse by flying him out there and back.
