I use old technology and yesterday's so-called "upgrade" actually ruined things for me. I usually operate from the computer in the basement that I've used for many, many years although sometimes I operate from an IPad that someone gave me about three years ago. Any kind of what I would consider to be a decent comment would be written on the computer. When I comment while using the IPad, I generally kind of limit myself to two or three lines. (I'm a very good typist on a keyboard but on an IPad it is too awkward to type properly so I limit myself.) @VaBeach_EagleWhat has happened is that the box at the bottom of screen that says "Reply to this topic" has shrunk (about a quarter of its normal size) to the point that it is inoperable. It is simply impossible to put a cursor in there. As a consequence, I cannot respond to anything. I had this exact same thing happen to me a year or so ago on the Redskins message board site. They had a very good board with some very good commentary (their draft stuff was superb). I used to enjoy keeping a pulse on that team and on rare occasions I would interject with some comments of my own. Not often. I would hardly consider myself an active participant on their board. But every now and then, yes. But as I said, that very same issue hit me a year or so ago and I could not make any replies. This wasn't a huge, huge deal but it was annoying. I was comforted however in knowing that OUR site still worked for me. Until yesterday. Oh sure, I can still read pages and pages of comments but I simply cannot reply, which takes the fun out of everything. And as I've said, I've used this site (in various forms of course) for a couple decades now. It has become part of my daily life. But I'm screwed. Yes, I may be able to -- as I'm doing know -- find an alternate computer that works for me. But this is not something that is convenient. In fact I would consider it inconvenient. So I really don't know what to do. I have tried in vain in the past to find a workaround to this problem but I've never been able to solve it. I guess I always knew this was inevitable. I supposed that improvements to websites can have disastrous side effects. I am that side effect. And it sucks. How old is your computer and what kind of a computer is it? PC or Mac? Let's start there.

You can check your display settings for display resolution, the scale of your computer display (100%, 125%, etc.) depending on the size of your monitor. As someone suggested, maybe you can zoom in your browser. I have the most up to date system and browsers and yet there are a couple sites I use for work that I have to change the zoom settings because the issue is on their end. Can you post some screen shots so we can see what it looks like?

I'll flip through the different themes later and see if that makes a difference. I'm currently using "Eagles Dark Mode (Default). This is how it looks for me: Spoiler
December 10, 2024Dec 10 @VaBeach_Eagle I've noticed a few times since the upgrade that on mobile when I click the button for the next page in a topic, the screen will refresh and remain on that page. Clicking next a 2nd time works. Glitchy.

I'll try it on my tablet and see how it goes there. Just as an experiment, change to one of the other themes and see if it happens there too.
December 29, 2024Dec 29 I'm finding that about 85% of the time now a tweet from "X" doesn't embed. Sometimes, deleting it and pasting again works. Most of the time it's not working anymore.

Next time it happens to you with X, just let it sit for a minute and see if it pops in.

But the last like 5 or 6 tweets I've posted have embedded, so I wonder if it's slowness in game day threads or something.

Mentally keep track during random times of the week and see if it happens randomly or if it's only on game days.

I was wondering if it's certain accounts that are major organizations like NFL teams or media but I'm not sure.
December 29, 2024Dec 29 @LeanMeanGM I'm experimenting with pasting, waiting a second, then hitting enter and waiting and it seems (so far) to be embedding. But it's still hit or miss sometimes.

I’m starting to wonder if he has some weird privacy settings or something. https://x.com/1kalwaysopen_/status/1871593208314233291 https://x.com/1kalwaysopen_/status/1867349011545596104 https://x.com/1kalwaysopen_/status/1857866305321447643 I also keep getting the message "x doesn’t allow embedding of that tweet” or "there is no tweet at that URL” errors.

I get those errors on random accounts too. It's inconsistent. The Eagles main account had the error earlier, then later I copied the same one and it embedded. I don't know the pattern.

I got that occasionally with other accounts but deleting and just re-pasting does the trick. Nothing works when it’s Brown. Not a big deal, just odd
January 6Jan 6 @VaBeach_Eagle I am not having issues but just a suggestion. I see that this page has themes for how the messageboard displays but to me the "dark mode" isn't dark. Is it possible to add another theme where there isn't so much white? So like black background with white letters.

This is what Dark Mode looks like for me: Spoiler If yours doesn't look like that, it sounds like you may be on the Dark Mode theme, but you're in light mode on that theme. To change that, scroll to the top of the board and click "Change Mode" which is to the left of the Liberty Bell, as shown below and that should make everything dark: Spoiler
