Went to the grocery store with my wife while visiting her parents at Christmas. Probably the first time in at least 5 years I had been to one.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

We're facing majors issues in my industry.  In some cases it's helping my business.

And we have discontinued some items or put a temp hold on production.  Call outs and labor shortages is the biggest concern.  Clearly because of Trump and Jan 6.

Yes labor shortages are killing us right now too. In some cases if you see some empty shelves it's because we don't have enough people to get it out in a timely manner.

Once in awhile something will go out of stock for awhile. Like Tropicana orange juice demand went up just before new years for obvious reasons. Anyways the week of new years Tropicana went out of stock and still is. However, all the other brands have been coming in fine.

Most likely people are seeing big holes on shelves and it's probably just one brand that had a hiccup in the supply chain. No big deal you just buy the other brand.

One area where the supply chain issues are still very very real is with electronics parts used in all sorts of products.

Watching Biden's speech this morning like...

I would never let a stranger pick out fruits, veggies or meat for me.

So you've never eaten at a restaurant?

Do you not have a wife?

Lipton Green Tea Diet Citrus - 1 Gallon - Albertsons

Lol I feel your pain. I finally found a light lemonade that doesn't taste like ass and it's been out of stock for 3 months now!

I shop for a family of four and I don’t use Instacart either. But yesterday when I was at the store I noticed an employee pulling stuff in the produce section that I assume was for customer’s orders.

I go early morning after getting the kids to school. Tuesday and Thursdays. Buy food for 2 dinners and whatever else we ran out of. I hate when meat and produce sit around, when we were younger my wife and I threw away so much food.

Would the answer "no" really surprise you here?

To be fair, I'm not sure the last time the wife went to a grocery store either. She loves Instacart, since most of what we get is drinks. We are about to just hire someone to do the weekly shopping and dinners anyway.

Since I enjoy cooking, I prefer to go myself and pick out cuts of meat, etc. I assume I also have more free time time you do, being a common poor.

Summertime we saw the same thing.  I don't remember the one we would buy but I'd recognize it.  Any alternatives were terrible.  i think it was the MM zero sugar one.

I've been seeing the MM zero sugar around lately. I actually didn't try that one because I don't usually like minute maid stuff. I just got simply light lemonade and it's out fantastic and now it's gone lol.

Cooking was something that I have always hated...I just don't have any patience for it. Since I am very particular about my diet, it just makes sense for me to find someone to cook for us. We do a lot of delivery from restaurants, and much of it is very healthy, but it is still hard to know exactly what you are eating.

All I can cook is eggs. And I can grill. Nothing else.

I find it relaxing. Both cooking and BBQ. I also have a very acute sense of taste, which most decent cooks have. I can see how a lot of people don't enjoy it though, it's not a hobby for eveyone.

My new homes kitchen is like three times the size of the old. I never realized how big a deal more space was as all my previous homes had small kitchens. So now I cook even more. I spent two hours yesterday making lunch for two.

My mom tried to teach me to cook Indian food once when I was in college. Whatever I produced was...interesting.

We just went to Pizza Hut.

I'm big on flavor, so Indian might be my favorite style of cuisine. The smell emanating from a kitchen cooking Indian food can be downright intoxicating.

Take it from an expert...

That smell will never, ever leave your house. It coats and penetrates furniture, curtains, everything.

The one different routine I have is I never go into a bank anymore.  I use the bank’s mobile app and just deposit checks with my phone.

Unfortunately, Vikas doesn’t deal with checks small enough to be deposited on an app. Rich people have struggles too.

I was thinking about that after I posted it. Needless to say none of my checks ever exceed the bank’s mobile app limit.

You think Vikas deals with paper checks at all?  Nah - we're talking strictly wire transfers to his offshore accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans, just like the movies.  Minimum 7 figures.

Zero clue how to deposit a check. Wife knows I think. Can't remember last time we got one.

We had the pleasure of stopping at some remote hotel in I think South Dakota that apparently had a lot of extended stay guests of Indian origin.

The hallways smelled of old curry throughout.

It wasn't a bad smell exactly, but it was very pungent.

The rare occasion I get a check it's usually for small sums. I just deposit it with my phone app into my "fun account". Subaru sent me 2 grand the other day and I don't know why. I did just lease a car, I assume it was a rebate I didn't know about.

My last company still pays bonuses in check form for some backwards reason. Otherwise I rarely encounter a check and judge people harshly when I receive one.
