September 2, 20224 yr I would have preferred to see a firm rejection of MAGAism while also appealing to them to wake up and step outside their bubbles to gain some perspective on how far lost they've become. There's no way that would've worked of course, but it would have played better with the independents I suppose. But he certainly went out of his way to identify only those MAGA types who reject democracy and rule of law when it confronts their preferred narrative. I don't know how a president is supposed to embrace a segment of the right that responded to a lost election with the violence of Jan 6. If you reject the Jan 6 insurrectionists, don't believe MAGA lies, then I'm not sure why you are or should be offended by anything Biden said.
