Thankfully Trump campaigned on lying about rigged elections and then actually tried to overturn one when he lost, so it makes it all okay.

When your best argument is to try to point at something someone else did wrong TOO, then you know you lost.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

I would have preferred to see a firm rejection of MAGAism while also appealing to them to wake up and step outside their bubbles to gain some perspective on how far lost they've become.

There's no way that would've worked of course, but it would have played better with the independents I suppose.

But he certainly went out of his way to identify only those MAGA types who reject democracy and rule of law when it confronts their preferred narrative. I don't know how a president is supposed to embrace a segment of the right that responded to a lost election with the violence of Jan 6.

If you reject the Jan 6 insurrectionists, don't believe MAGA lies, then I'm not sure why you are or should be offended by anything Biden said.

So your argument is republicans are better because they are honest about their intent to destroy the country? Weird flex but ok.

I didnt say anyone was better. When you have to purposely pretend to be stupid to create some dumb argument that you think sounds good, you know you lost.

Not a big lie, he was attempting to unify Dems, Independents and main stream Republicans, pretty much everyone, except Maga Republicans. So where's the lie exactly? Maga Republicans don't want unity with those groups at all. They want to rule them, kill them or kick them out of the Country.

wrong

So....

The speech last night is a reminder that our President has so many wonderful qualities, but there is one that stands above all the rest. His absolute mastery of owning the Trumptards.

Lolbertarians gargling the testicles of a senile communist because of TDS is some of my favorite content on here.

Well, its obviously not a good idea to get those people riled up. Thats exactly what Trump does. Now you are applauding it because your guy did it.

I watched the speech in it's entirety, did you? Only Maga Republicans disagree with reality.

This is like saying we shouldn't call out radical islam because it's might rile up islamic terrorists.

I watched none of it.

So on one hand, you have Trump sparking a conspiracy fueled insurrection against our own Capitol, and on the other hand you have Biden promising to be nice, but then saying not-so-nice things about MAGA insurrectionists. And your takeaway is that these are two equal wrongs that don't make a right.

so then its ok for Biden to rile them up, but not ok for Trump to do so.

No. You dont call out. You attemtp to unify. Thats not done by trying to shame.

Not saying anything is equal, but both wrongs that dont make a right.

Just what I thought. Then how do you what he said? You say I'm wrong, without evidence to back it up since you're ignorant about exactly what he said in his speech. Typical Maga behavior.

They are simply programmed to reject anything, and I mean anything that comes from anyone who doesn't believe what they (THINK) they stand for.  It is scary and it is dangerous.

I would have never thought people would be so afraid of a democrat.  It's laughable.  Especially when it is based on lies from a snake oil salesman.

I hope this speech is a pre cursor of what's coming for the big fat orange baffoon!!

They attacked your Capitol and polling shows that they aren't particularly upset about it. Is there some sort of historical moment you can cite where people like this are unified by a little powwow, and olive branch?

Personally, I think the political move is to call it like it is, and let the MAGA defenders stay on defense. "This will all go away if we ignore it" isn't a good way to get voters to the polls.

He didn't watch it, so how does he know if they were riled up or not?

The other issue is, he doesn't differentiate between Maga Republicans and Main Stream Republicans, so Biden isn't unifying because he's talking about all Republicans. How convenient for him to unify all Republicans when clearly any one who doesn't bow down to Trump is a RHINO.

And for those saying it was a divisive speech, clearly they didn't listen to it.  But go ahead, keep crying

This is what he said:

For a long time, we’ve told ourselves that American democracy is guaranteed, but it’s not. We have to defend it, protect it, stand up for it, each and every one of us. That’s why tonight, I’m asking our nation to come together, unite behind the single purpose of defending our democracy regardless of your ideology.

they have nothing to do with any of this. thats really reaching. A clear sign you feel defeat.

He's calling them out. If that riles them up so be it, it'll make them easier to spot.

If you truly embrace democracy and the rule of law, nothing in that speech ought to offend.

looks like you waived the white flag with that one. When you attack the poster instead of the post, clear sign of defeat.

You dont have to be offended to know something is stupid. There is something wholly unimpressive about putting a camera angle below an old senile guy with red lights behind him to make him look powerful while he shouts at MAGA idiots probably with more poop running down his leg.

Saying Republicans are the equivalent to islamic terrorists is really just aggressively retarded.

I know this is going to become an argument because people hate to hear whats really going on.

1) a lot of people dont care about Jan 6th, they dont reject it, they dont really think about it. They think about things that are more important things right now. it's the world we live in

2) A lot of people think the BLM/Antifa riots/murders/etc were way worse than Jan 6th

3) The country, the media, and a lot of politicians embraced the BLM/Antifa riots fairly well.

4) And this is important.

the media, and now the president portrays every MAGA wearing person a hard core white surpmisits who will be a domestic terrorists on the weekends. It's not the case. The overwhelming "maga members" are blue collar, normal folk who want basic crap like a decent economy, decent prices, the boarder closed, and less crime.

I'm sure you're gonna yell at me, and bring up some ridiculous stat from 2009 but i truly dont care. I'm just trying to provide a different point of view.

There's nothing to yell about. You're making the case for us. If you "don't care about" an assault on your own Capitol, sparked by conspiracy theories from your own president, then everything else you complain about is negated. What is your border if your govt is under assault? What is your economy is your govt is under assault? What is "law and order" if you don't care that your govt is under assault?
