September 27, 20223 yr Being a teacher is probably the worst job I can think of. I tell my children not to even think about being a teacher, and any young person that wants career advice. It was by far the worst job I've ever had, and it's not close. I would rather scrub toilets than go back to teaching high school.

I would rather scrub toilets than go back to teaching high school. It didn't used to be so, but yeah, it's pretty f***ing bad now. This is for a variety of reasons, but the biggest of them in my mind is that the parents don't parent, while the administrators don't administer discipline, so the kids are totally out of line and entitled to boot. They get offended by any criticism and have no appreciation for structure or lines of authority, and when challenged or redirected, they literally use the same lines on teachers that their parents use on them (Don't get smart with me! My dad says...). When the parents get involved for disciplinary infractions or academic problems, they usually reflexively take the side of their kids and blame the teachers, and administration is so afraid of the parents, that they usually fail to back the faculty. I mean, we are basically isolated and have very little to work with in the classroom in terms of a student body and supportive home.

It as pretty simple actually: Bad parents=bad kids which, combined with lazy, incompetent administration, results in a shi**y environment to learn and teach. 1 minute ago, Bacarty2 said: The only teaching jobs open are inner city crap holes. That's not true. 1 minute ago, Bacarty2 said: My school district is about 15K higher to start than Camden and tops out I think(last heard) abut 35K more. Not to mention the difference in the children Yeah, the pay is a big problem, and your second point here is something that I was basically touching on earlier.
September 27, 20223 yr Author Oh, and basically, be prepared to be called racist these days for simply enforcing rules. That's really fun!
September 27, 20223 yr Even the good suburban teaching jobs suck now because of administration bloat. They can't manage their own classrooms anymore because all of the direction comes from above. Teachers that stay in the profession are racing to get their degrees so they can move up to a cushy administration job. Teachers are left to take all the crap from the students, their parents, and administration.

Head. The kids are out of control, the administrators are lazy overpaid do nothings, the parents are apathetic. It was like a vampire sucking my life's essence a day at a time.
September 27, 20223 yr I don't teach but I coach, and that's enough to know that I'd be an absolutely terrible teacher if I had to do it full-time. All it takes is one or two little sh**ty entitled ass holes to throw everything into chaos. I don't have the patience to deal with it at all.
September 27, 20223 yr I coach flag football and I'm absolutely phenomenal at it. I should be asked to join the Eagle's staff.

Defund the police is as dumb as it gets, and those who disagree will eventually realize it when they get to see the difference between the cops working in a decent well-funded police dept in a community that values them, vs the cops who work in a dept that's woefully underfunded and been ish on by their community for years. I have not looked into this guy a lot but he has caught my ear a few times. The Dems seem to be doing a better job at keeping their party from going full woke. If only the GOP could shed MAGA.
September 28, 20223 yr joe should go down to florida & free throw some paper towel rolls at desatan's face. his face.
