May 24, 20232 yr Question for anyone serving more recently or is familiar with current procedures on military bases, do they still use burn pits? Seemed kinda archaic to even be using them a decade or two ago. Gotta imagine slapping together a prefab hood and smokestack to have the fumes exhaust 20 ft above the pit wouldn't be that much of a task or a few able bodied young dudes that are even remotely handy but I'm not as familiar with the size/shape of these pits.
