There's certainly a lot of that. But unemployment among blacks being at an all-time low is a big deal. Unemployment numbers in general being as low as they are is a big deal. There's some reasons for that that certainly exist outside of anything Biden did .. a big reason is that a lot of people who were near retirement age decided the pandemic would be a good time to just go ahead and get out for good. This meant when demand returned the candidate supply was smaller than pre-pandemic, which is why we've seen wage inflation. Presidents get lots of credit and blame on the economy for things that frankly are well outside their control. Most policies that come out of Washington barely resemble what presidents campaigned on, especially when Congress is so evenly split (Senate in particular). The Fed is the most powerful institution we have for directing the economy, not the White House. That said, it's impressive the amount of impactful legislation that was passed during Biden's first two years. A period when Congress WAS very divided. Under Biden the far left has been kept in line, and had a Republican championed and passed the same exact bills the right would be lauding the praises of whoever was residing in the White House. The one big blemish from a legislative standpoint was the initial Covid aid package, which in hindsight was clearly too large and a significant factor in inflation. I think we would have had high inflation regardless due to supply chain issues and the stalling and restarting of the economy due to the pandemic, but for certain the Biden bucks in everybody's pocket played a big part in ratcheting up demand. At the time most moderates even felt it bigger than necessary, but Biden felt he had to make a big splash and so that's on him. And who knows how it may have played out without the injection, but I suspect we would be much better off without it. People will bring up Afghanistan but nobody actually freaking cares now. It's in the rear view mirror, and we're out. Anyway, yes of course they are. But no politician in Biden's position would downplay the accomplishments regardless. GDP growth is good, Unemployment down, inflation getting tamed. No president is going to leave them out of their resume when appealing for a second term.
