So its not hard for them to either collude or simply play copy cat so you have no choice to lock yourself in to a long term deal unable to go to a competitor for a long period of time.

Oh I agree 100% that ISPs need to be classiifed as utlities as a result of a lack of competition. That's why I thought Pai's repeal of net neutrality rules was so incredibly stupid. But that's a different issue than banning early termination fees which are kind of a non-issue in comparison to the monopolistic practices these guys engage in. That, and somehow convincing every septagenarian they need to pay for gigabit speeds otherwise their AARP emails won't load correctly.
