They did the same thing with the debates in 2020, claiming Trump would crush him, and then looking stupid when Biden held his own and Trump skipped the 2nd debate like a coward. Any competent political operation would lower expectations for its candidate and raise them for the opponent. MAGA is so stupid they do the exact opposite. If they had any clue what they were doing, they would have spent the last 2 weeks saying Biden is an experienced politician with a long history of performing well in settings like this. Drive up expectations. But of course, they need to call him a dementia addled fool in order to deflect from Trump's own rapidly deteriorating mental state, so...here we are.
