On page 208 of the report, he states that Biden could not remember the year in which his son Beau died, and the transcript of the interview backs this up. In the interview, Biden thought it was either in 2017 or 2018 when Beau died. And then his aides corrected him, telling him it was 2015.

Hur's comments about this exchange in his report was misleading at best. His report states: "He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died." The transcript of the exchange does not reflect that at all. Biden says the month and day, then his lawyer interjects and says 2015 for the year. No clue where the "several years" part comes from, but it's hilarious that Hur doesn't remember what he himself wrote in his report, especially after it made headlines around the world.

March 12, 20241 yr I can recall the month and day that my son died without much thought, it often takes a little more thought to remember the year. I can say the same thing in regards to all my kids birthdays. Recalling the month and day are a breeze, the year takes more thought.

No clue where the "several years" part comes from, but it's hilarious that Hur doesn't remember what he himself wrote in his report, especially after it made headlines around the world. The transcript absolutely reflects that. The several years part comes from the interview. Biden is asked where he kept the papers related to the things he was actively working on while living at Chain Bridge Road. Biden then responds that he doesn’t know, and asks if it is around the 2017/2018 time frame. Hur says yes. Biden then says this would have been in the time frame that his son is either deployed, or is dying. Then he goes onto say that people were encouraging him to run for president at this time, but that Obama thought Hillary had a better shot at winning. But that he hadn’t walked away from the idea that he’d run for president again. And then says that Beau died on May 30th. his aides then interject that it was 2015 when Beau did. So his timeline is in two separate places during this discussion. On one hand he’s talking about what he was working on while he was living on chain bridge road AFTER his VP term ended in 2017/2018, and then he’s talking about events going on in 2015.

So you're saying when Biden states "in that 2017/2018 timeframe" it's fair for Hur to characterize that as being "not even within several years" of 2015?

Hur says in his report that Biden couldn't remember the year, not even within several years. Which obviously paints a far different picture than what is reflected in the transcript.

Because that's the real story, right? Hur used "several" when he should have said "couple" so it's a non-story that Biden was three years off about his son's death. Holy sheet, the little libertarian is going hard in the paint for Biden. You love to see it.

The overarching theme is that Biden is too old and retarded to prosecute and the transcript backs that up. But that's some Grade A copium right there. "The thing I just spent several posts arguing about isn't that important anyway!"

And he took the L today for it so I definitely can see why you relate to him in this situation.

She intentionally misleads people into thinking that Biden nailed the date and that Hur was lying about Biden not having any clue what year his son died in by focusing just on May 30. Then some NPC twitter account picks it up and tells people that Biden did in fact remember the date based on the transcript because he knows they're too stupid to read the actual exchange. Just an echo chamber of misinformation they're too stupid to break out of.

March 12, 20241 yr Did we learn whether Biden knows the difference between 9/11 and 7-11 today? I hope so because that would be disqualifying.

Anyway, the larger point is that between where the documents they were stored, how they were stored, the failure of recall in discussing the storage of those documents, it points to someone who mistakenly had them and forgot that he had them. And not someone who purposefully retained them with the intent to violate the law.

Fair enough, I just think it's clear now that Hur was trying to portray certain aspects in the report that weren't exactly square with the transcript. Before today, all we had was the report to go off of, which made some scathing conclusions that didn't exactly paint Biden in a positive light. But with the release of the transcript, it seems to me that a lot of that is softened and Hur gets exposed as doing a bit too much editorializing.
