Single and live in Philly?  Single homeowners with no child taxpayers making a 100k+ may have seen a bump.  Philly wage tax sucks.  More than the state tax.

No -- live in burbs.   MONTCO.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

Single and homeowner though?  I could see it.  An individual not in the city earning 100k would pay ~5k in state and local taxes.  Slap on real estate taxes 5-8k (which I would expect in that income range for a single person).  Every dollar over the 10k cap costs them 24 cents.  Probably cost them 400-500.  The tax plan was geared toward middle class families which in my case what I lost on the SALT cap, I gained on the additional CTC included in the bill.

I would pay to see Biden chewing gum before his next attempt at those steps.

That so, Jack?

(CNN)The Bidens' dog Major has been involved in another biting incident that required medical attention, two people with knowledge of the incident tell CNN.

The incident, which involved a National Park Service employee, took place on the White House South Lawn on Monday afternoon. The employee was working at the time and needed to stop in order to receive treatment from the White House medical unit.
First lady Jill Biden's press secretary Michael LaRosa told CNN that Major is "still adjusting to his new surroundings."

Can we impeach the dog?

Since it's a repeat offense, if it was you or I they'd probably put the dog down.

It says something about the sheer awesomeness of the Biden presidency when you Trumpbots need to resort to picking on his dogs.

To review, some of the same people who have zero issue with a business owner denying service to customers based on the patron’s sexual orientation or gender identity are now going nuts over the possibility they will need to show proof of vaccine to get into a mass population event like a concert or football game.   Good times.

See, that big p-sy Trump didn't even have a dog -- and if he did, it would have been one of those carry in my handbag rich lady Manhattan ones.  Seriously, Trump is one of those guys who tries to act tough and talk a big game, but deep down he's a scared mess.  I guarantee you though, he would be scared of a dog like Biden's (even one that didn't bite).      Who's tougher now?  Biden got some bite!

Weird how you don't see a bunch of sycophants running in here defending Biden like we saw the last four years from the cult members.

What exactly do you think you're proving?

That comment was in response to reports that the administration terminated some who had admitted to smoking pot. I don't recall a bunch of MAGA like libs running to the defense of Biden.

I don't exactly see a large contingent defending Biden's dog either.

For the past couple years all you heard from Trump supporters was non-stop deflection on EVERYTHING. Gotta defend the cult leader.

This, 1,000 times, this!  I have a friend in FL that is praising Desantis for pushing legislation that would ban use of "vaccine passports" by the government and private businesses. I understand not having the government mandate them but to restrict a private business's ability to require them is just absurd in my opinion.

Question, what are your thoughts on reporting cryptocurrency and online gambling "winnings"? I learned about an interesting aspect of tax code that seems murky at best.

Crypto you would treat like any other stock investment.  Capital gain when it's sold.  I don't think anything is reported to the IRS like a stock sale on a 1099-B but I wouldn't want to chance not reporting gains.  It could come back to bite you in the ass.  Online gambling winnings are generally reported on a 1099-G which is reported to the IRS.  You can write off the losses up to your winnings on the Schedule A (if you itemize).  You can't take a loss.

Do you mean W-2G?

I've read that any crypto trades from crypto to USD are treated as "gains" even if you lost more than your principal. Apparently the IRS treats it like gambling where similar rules apply. I was surprised to find this out when I dug into the details when I went to file this year.

Yeah.  W-2G.  As for crypto I'd treat the initial investment as basis.  It's similar to old stocks where a brokerage might not have the basis because they received it from the original owner.  In a case where they don't know the basis they will report the sale price but not the basis.  So the IRS might see a stock sale of 100k with no basis.  They see a 100k gain.  It's on you to report the basis to them.  See it a lot with older folks who have had say PPL for 20 years.  Back in the day before brokerages were required to report basis it was a major pain in the ass.  Can't tell you how many time I've had to call the brokerage.

Biden can't even navigate a set of stairs or complete a sentence.  Do you really think he's going to be able to train a dog properly?
