That’s the most believable part of the show my man. It’s also a call back to Red Dawn. Another great 80s movie.Fair point. Just think that the show has completely gone away from what made the early seasons so great - now it's just basically another mindless Michael Bay action movie.

The first half was really good IMO but the second half was awful in comparison. I went back and looked at the directors, the duffers directed the first half, and shawn levy directed the last 3, so that’s a big reason for the shift. It’s very much what happened with GoT and if you ever watched Servant on AppleTV, Shamylan did the same thing when he let his daughter take over, the show sucked after that. Hopefully we get a finale that pays off. If this is just a D&D game or a dream sequence, we’re going to have some riots and alot of cancelled Netflix subs
December 30, 2025Dec 30 Loved the first season, second was OK. Can't remember if I ever even watched the third. I've been loosely following along by watching TikTok videos of people bashing how dreadful the acting is. Is it true that Will fights the final boss through the power of homosexuality? That may be the most Netflix ending of a show ever.
December 30, 2025Dec 30 They can't even get the D&D stuff right anymore. If Will's powers are from the Ghey, then he's not a wizard or a sorcerer, he's a bard.

December 31, 2025Dec 31 This show turned into putting hats on hats on hats on top of hats. They had a great idea for a mini series but tried to stretch it out over multiple seasons. Same thing with Squid Games.

But overall I agree. Dragged it out way too much. The dude who played Jonathan looks like he's a 40 year recent divorcee trying to get over a drinking problem

The Russian side plot was kind of stupid and pointless and so was the stoner friend and whatever they did. I definitely agree about Vecna and should have been introduced sooner, which kind of points to them just stretching out the show with no real plan in place. It feels like he was introduced because they knew they needed a new big bad to keep things interesting instead of him being planned in the overall show. Especially since it’s been revealed Will knew about him way back in Season 1 but never bothered to mention it. This season is just throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks. Who cares about Will being gay? Who cares about Holly? Who cares about Eight who somehow de-aged and looks like 10 years old? Who cares about this new secret boss lady who somehow built and maintains a lab in the upside down? Who even cares about the upside down anymore now that they made it mostly pointless?

January 2Jan 2 Got around to watching the finale movie last night and, needless to say, I'm supremely disappointed. Not because it was silly and nonsensical, which it absolutely was but, being a show about a fantastical dimension called the upside down, I've made peace with that long ago. I'm most disappointed in the failure to follow one of the most consequential threads that they began early in the season. If their 1st spinoff isn't a show about Dustin and Steve during the 18 months between killing Vecna, and graduation, with the opening sequence following them around while, 1 by 1, they hunt down the football players who jumped Dustin, and beat the ever loving crap out of all of them, then they've truly failed.
January 2Jan 2 I guess it's a spoilerSpoilerSo Hopper, Nancy and others killed multiple members of the US Army. Murray just blew up a helicopter and killed anyone in it. They also damaged U.S. property while all basically committing acts of domestic terrorism..... and their punishment is a 5 second detainment that they barely enforce followed by yada yada yada everyone is living a normal life 18 months later.
January 3Jan 3 Okay I’ll put my thoughts in a spoiler so I don’t ruin it for anyone.Stranger Things FinaleSo I was really disappointed with how it all ended. To have waited so long for the ending and to get that? The season as a whole wasn’t great but the finale just didn’t live up to expectations at all. And I get that it is hard to wrap up a show that’s captured so many people but still? There were no stakes as nobody ever really seemed to be in danger. The final fight scene lacked any of the things that’s made the show so great for so long. The end I mean nobody really died. El died but then did she really? Even that they couldn’t stick to.The way they explained the upside down as a worm hole? I didn’t like that but that’s just personal preference I guess. I didn’t think it was necessary to explain? And also where did that new Planet X come from? It wasn’t there before. Vecna was never there before? He was plugged in to the mind flayer at his old house so why did we need a new planet? Why was that never there before? The mind flayer too was in the upside down so why the change? And why at the start of season 5 did we brush over the ending of season 4? A metal road put down to cover where the upside down was tearing through? That was just brushed over very quickly. And the army disappeared at the end just as quickly and just as unexplained as they left at the beginning. The ending with the way there were no repercussions for anyone even though people were murdered? Soldiers killed at the hands of teenagers age no punishment? What even happened to the Dr who played a big part in the final season?I did like they they teased Vecna to turn good as he was really just human but then he didn’t turn. That was good and the alternative of him turning would have sucked. But then he seemed really weak in the final fight? They showed him to be way more powerful than El throughout the last 2 seasons overall. And then the new kids they introduced? It felt forced? Like they were there because what had made Stranger Things so big was the kids fighting evil but the OGs were grown up so they still wanted that childlike story to play out? The kids were irritating and we had no connection to them so I didn’t really care what happened to them. Holly played way too big a part. The finale just lacked punch and consequences and the final season felt like lip service to characters we loved but seemed to change. Suddenly Steve and Robin are really clever with good ideas? Will has powers? I just felt like some characters story arcs were let down by the final season. But I say all of this knowing it was never going to please all and some things were going to be hard to close off.
January 3Jan 3 About the soldiers So, I see people saying that no one got in trouble for killing The soldiers, but I don't think they can get publicly arrested For it. Seems the town (and presumably the rest of the world) think there was just an earthquake. The government wouldn't want to open themselves up to an investigation about them hunting a little girl in another dimension

They just let them all go knowing all the government secrets about portals and other dimensions. The one kid is even writing a friggin book about it all. They had an easy out. Just bring back Dr Owens who comes in with some higher ranking unit, arrest Dr Kay and any of the soldiers left and tell the public a fake story about how they were arrested for treason and being Russian spies. Easy.
