I don't run but own these and a good shoe. They got a high arch and not use to them, at all.

Nice. I like the price, too, but I’m partial to Brooks’ cushioning, especially in their higher end shoes. The cushioning in lower priced shoes just doesn’t seem to hold up for me. If I do get back to running on trails again (which my wife won’t be happy about), I’ll likely go with these:

Today, I discovered the downside of trail running……the ground, which, even though it’s dirt (and roots, and rocks), instead of asphalt, still hurts when your body unexpectedly slams into it. Bonus, the fall (or falls ), happened on steep downhills, so I kept sliding for a few feet once I did hit the ground. :censored:

Get a bike and stay on gravel trails. Obviously you're too uncoordinated for trail running

Anyone who does any real trail running falls from time to time.  And that's what I was doing, real trail running.  Not this fake riding bikes on wannabe roads running that you're talking about.  I'll be back out there as soon as my boo boos heal.

Worked out at home for a while...back in the gym today. Just can't focus and get motivated at home, even with a dedicated, well equipped gym area.

Its hard sometimes isn't it. I mean it's much more convenient but there are other distractions at home that mean you end up putting off exercise.

I am the exact opposite. I hate working out in a gym around other people. At home I can be on schedule and focus.

No kids FTW.

Don't gtive up!

It's not even kids or anyone distracting me. Even one else is asleep at 4 am when I workout. It's just me, my mind wanders and I just don't try much lol.

I guess gym vs home is just personal preference.

For a long time I was of the same mindset. I liked working out in my garage. But recently I've joined a globogym and I quite like it.

My wife and I workout exclusively at home - we have a treadmill, dumbbells from 5lb up to 45 lb and then some handles with plates to go higher, ez curl bar, all kinds of resistance bands, pull up bar, and a bench.  She recently expressed some interest in a peloton as well.

I have a ton of equipment. I put a rubber floor in half my garage. Have a power rack with a bench I can move in and out of the rack, over 1000lbs of weight plates, different bars, dumbells up to 120lbs, pull down machine with a weight stack and various attachments, rowing machine, treadmill, kettlebells, a weighted sled, and lots of other bits. I just don't try as hard at home, it's hard to explain. I get my best workouts at 5 am on an empty stomach at the gym.

Change your diets. Give up as much sugar as possible and everything feels better.  Better sleep, better work, better sex, better play, more energy, lower weight, etc.

I am down 25 pounds since January with simply diet changes and moderate increase in physical activity.  Mostly wholesale diet changes.

I think the mistake people make is they think you can exercise and not really change your diet. That's wrong. Diet is the key. Now if you can change your habits and get the weight off then exercise allows you to enjoy more of the "nicer" things in life but still within moderation.

Yep. I eat a big breakfast (doubling up with granola/raisin cereal and a breakfast shake), skip lunch, and watch my portions at dinner time. Haven't been to the gym in two weeks, but I also have emptied 70 bags of mulch around my yard.

(But IFB, why dont you just get a couple cubic yards delivered?!)

Because scooping off the driveway into a wheelbarrow is way worse on my back, and I'll pay the extra $100 to save a handful of trips to the chiropractor.

4 times a week I do intermittent fasting so I stop eating by 8pm and then don't eat until midday the following day. Such a good way to strip away any fat.

I grew up in the nineties, so I am a product of the Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Frosted Flakes generation lol. I could eat a half a box of Family Size Reese's Puffs just because I was freaking addicted to sugar cereals.

I dont know if I am mentally prepared to give up breakfast as a whole.... I get major headaches from it when its happened.

Ok, listen up closely.

Eat less

That will be $49.95 please.

:) All honestly, I've never been a fat guy. Always on the fit side, thanks to great genetics. But if you want to lose weight, yes a work out plan will help but you can work out all day long 7 days a week. If you don;t eat right it won;t make a difference. Start with a new food plan before spending all your money on equipment. Cut out as much bread as you can, that is a killer. You get that on track first, then get on a workout plan.

Hey everyone, listen to the guy with "great genetics" telling us fat guys how to lose weight. Guess what most of us don't have?  Great genetics!

Yep.  I gave up the daily PB&J as part of my diet.

But Texas Roadhouse... I had been skipping steak when going out to eat, but I SMASHED on some of their bread.  I might have had four or five rolls.

Skipping breakfast is just about the worst thing you can do if you want to be healthy AND workout regularly. A high protein breakfast is great fuel for training.
