Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

That's why I'm still not all down on Reagor. He has had pathetic qb play in his career in the NFL so far. He does run lazy routes but can get open more often than not.

Reagor would've had a career night with a better QB. He beats his man and gets wide open every week. Smith as well.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Why are we ignoring the run with a below average passer for QB?

Good kid. Likeable guy. Unfortunately not a starting qb in the NFL.

Seems like it

We finally, FINALLY after all these years have WRs who can get open. And now we have a QB who can't throw to wide open receivers.

Yep not 1, not 2,  but 3 WRs who can get open deep several times a game and can actually catch if the ball is delivered on time or not under thrown.

Hurts ruined any shot of Smith getting OROY. And he's going to end up stunting his development. Which sucks because he can play. He's a real 1.

That's how it is with this team since 1999. McNabb had trash besides Owens in 04 and Wentz had AJ in 17. The only exception is Vick with Jackson and Maclin.

Smith is definitely legit. Hurts should be sitting back playing pitch and catch with our WRs. It's disgusting watching our WRs having to slow down several times a game in an attempt to haul in one of Hurts weak passes. Crazy thing is he can actually disguise his weak arm when throwing to Smith if he actually gets the ball out on time. Reagor and Watkins are just too fast for him to reach them.

Hurts huggers?  Are you ready to give up on this experiment yet?

I'm not ready to give up. I'm also not feeling great about Hurts right now. But I don't think he's given any help at all by his HC. They are running a bizarre offense that wouldn't work for any QB in the NFL.

People have been griping about some of Hurts' deep passes that were completed, claiming he underthrew Watkins on a couple of them which just isn't true. Complaining about the good plays he's made is pointless. Last night, his passing was pretty bad. There's a legitimate reason to be concerned from watching that. We don't have to criticize his good passes in addition to his bad ones. Last night, he underthrew and overthrew passes. It's not just one thing.

There is only so much a head coach can do. Other than running more which you can't against the bucs, what should he do? Maybe Hurts should have spent less time deadlifting 600lbs in the offseason and more time studying film.

I don't think they're "too fast" for Hurts' arm, it's just that he waits way too long to let it go. Have to trust your speed demon wide receivers to beat 1 on 1 coverage and let the ball go early rather than waiting to see if they win the foot race and then throwing it. By then it's too late.

But he did the same against the Bucs as he has in every game... His scheme hasn't adjusted or changed. If Hurts can't perform in the scheme then let that show. Right now all it looks like is that Sirianni is clueless.

Not even likable IMO

Looked to me like our run game was pretty good - when we actually decided to use it.

I like the kid as a person, but he's not an NFL starter. That's obvious by now.

The really bad part is that the off season narrative is going to be "Let's give Sirianni a chance with a different QB". As bad as Hurts is, the coach is worse.

He may or may not be. At this point, I’d like to see him with a different QB to be more certain.

Right, based on last night's performance his future doesn't look very promising, this is not to say he can't get better but he was missing routine passes that high schoolers can make all day long.

Hurts isn't a Quarterback. He's a RB who can throw a little here and there.

Hurts has already sucked with multiple coaches.

I'm not really interested in defending Sirianni, but they chose to hire Sirianni.  Technically, they are obligated to watch him run his offense with an actual QB under center.  Now, Minshew sucks too...but if this keeps up, then the onus is on Sirianni to prove his offense a bit in the second half of the season with a different QB.

We should give him that chance after the bye with Minshew.  I have posted videos of him making those throws in Jacksonville, with way less at the skill positions.

Everyone wants to discard him and say he only had garbage time stats, which I have already proven false.  And he was the only starting QB to get a win the two years he was in Jacksonville.

I haven't read every recent post on this thread, so I'm sorry if I'm simply restating the obvious.

I have zero confidence that Hurts is a long-term solution at QB. Despite being a gamer, he's riddled with flaws and he feels like not much more than a premium version of Taysom Hill.

That being said, I'd like to see how he does with an offensive game plan that at least resembles an NFL game plan. I.e. see what running the ball a bit with our talented RB does for the team.

It'll put the ball in the hands of arguably our best skill position player in Sanders. It'll take some pressure off Hurts. It'll give our o-line a chance to be aggressive in run blocking instead of passive in pass blocking, which should in turn set a stronger tone for the team. And it'll give our defense some much-needed rest.

Hurts is bad, and it appears he's miscast as a franchise QB. But Siri is total amateur hour.

Hurts hurts me watching him. Turrible
