Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Again, for the 100th time, the argument over Hurts wasn't that he was a perfect quarterback. The argument was whether or not he had improved over his career (which he clearly had) and whether or not he could develop into a top 10 qb.

And now that the thing you spent the entire offseason saying every day couldn't happen, is actually happening, you decide to reframe the entire argument to try and make yourself look less stupid.

Maybe your next post in the thread should be an apology for not listening to people who were only trying to help you understand football a little bit better?

May be just the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen

Glad you had faith-  However

Again the Eagles themselves did not have as much faith as you did that Hurts would make the leap he has. Trying to spike the football on that is laughable. We are all better for him having made the leap, but it was not a given as some of you had suggested. He had real issues he needed to fix, to date it appears he has grown leaps and bounds.

Acting like you KNEW he would is laughable, the eagles didn't know, and they were the closest to him.

Which part was more telling that the Eagles front office and coaching staff didn’t have faith in Hurts? Was it when they spent ZERO draft capital on the QB position? Or when they spent ZERO cap money on a possible replacement in free agency?

Moving a 1st rounder to next year while adding  a 2nd in ‘24, a 3rd and 7th in ‘22 could just as easily been Howie deciding that was too much draft capital to pass up as opposed to a lack of faith in Hurts.

They made no moves at qb position other than signing a udfa they cut before the season started.

It is admirable to see a man to recognize his mistake. I on the other hand was one of the True Believers in Hurts from the beginning. Like many, I saw the lack of experience, and tendency to run, but what made me BELIEVE is a comparison to Joe Montana by one of his X wide receivers. No! it is not the comparable style of play, or any other factor!!! It is the Coolness/Composure/Making the rest of the team better when he is on the field..Or as the receiver called it 2 gallons drums of IT. And by IT I mean charisma, leadership, and other factors that it takes to be a successful QB in the NFL. So Happy to have been proven right ..So far. Much more ahead.

I am just enjoying that the hate spam has finally dried up. Few people here saw it coming, you were one of the few.

What matters now is that we make it count and going for the top seat in the playoffs would go a long way to get us there.

All the concerns we expressed were legitimate, and while most are improved, you still see bad tendencies, especially when blitzed.

Brian Dawkins was on Jim Rome yesterday, and listed every concern I had listed that he had about Hurts at the end of last year.

Is Brian Dawkins also a racist hater ??

Yes

Lol… no. I had the same concerns as well.

It’s the fact that several posters acted like they had some superior insight into qb development from a message board and posted with 100% certainty that Hurts would never improve and could never be a winning qb. Anyone who wanted to give him another year was just a bunch of stupid homers that didn’t understand football or the direction of the league to a pass happy offense requirement to have any chance of ever being a good team.

More than anything, for the "fans” who posted in absolutes that there was no possibility of improvement from Hurts… there’s crow to be eaten.

Love these kinda jokes because it opens up idiots to abuse. He could simply say "resting in your wife's jaw" and you would deserve the embarrassment for making a middle school joke

It certainly seems to have opened up one idiot to abuse.

I’m using both hands. And clapping.

Hurts haters need to just sit down and shut up. You guys just don't know football, or QB play specifically.

Jalen and AJ are killing it

Hurts 4 TD passes is pretty good for "a running back playing QB." :smoke:

Bears making it a game.

"Hurts doesn’t throw enough touchdowns!”

Jalen: "Hold my beer”

Jalen Hurts:

— 67.9 comp%

— 285 Yds

— 4 TD

Jalen also breaks the overall Eagles Record for most consecutive victories (10 in a row).   He's 3 Victories away from the breaking the in season record of 9 straight.

:towel:

I think I only saw one bad play from him. Looked great. Still held the ball a little longer than I'd like but Steelers defense sucked so no big deal for this

Played great and definitely has trust in Brown to just throw it up for him to make a play. That's always great when the QB trust the receiver

We are so fortunate to have Hurts, just need Josh Allen to trip up a bit so Hurts can take the MVP home.

I want to give a shout-out to @Infam, because out of everyone on this board he’s the only one I’ve seen truly believe Jalen was the that guy.

This game offensively was won purely on the back of Jalen’s passing, he only had 2 scrambles and we barely ran the ball in the first half.

Thank you!

I don‘t think I was the only one but I sure was in the minority. 😄

Then again I liked Reagor too when we drafted him, so there‘s that.

I’m sure there were others too. @MF POON, and @EaglesRocker97 have definitely fought the good fight also to name a few though I have too. I can’t say I was one who truly believed in Hurts, only that I thought it was way too early to judge him like so many have.
