Never saw the man with the hat, but did once see a child next to my bed in grainy black and white doing some kind of weird stuff with his hands. He disappeared when he looked at me though. I only had it once when I was like 13 and saw something like this coming out of my closet

I’ve heard spiders from someone close to me, but the man with a hat as a common entity really blows my mind since it’s so specific. I know the mind "shortcuts” to make sense of things, thus all the illusion graphics out there. But sleep paralysis resulting with the man with the hat is a whole other phenomenon.

The worst part of sleep paralysis for me that I would never want to experience it again would be the part where I would end up feeling surrounded by evil... It felt like I was being watched by everyone in the world and they were all evil and wanted bad things for me... Then standing behind me looking down at me was one overwhelming presence of evil like they were the worst of the worst... Basically it was like Satan... That part of sleep paralysis always terrified me and made me dread having it happen
September 25, 20224 yr A lot of people see an old woman who they call "the old hag" My dad had it happen to him a few times and he said it scared the crap out of him. https://www.healthline.com/health/sleep/old-hag-syndrome The craziest part about all of this is that it's been going on for thousands of years and the imagery is the same across cultures It's been depicted in nearly every culture's folklore (incubus/succubus, etc) and even depicted in art over the centuries
September 25, 20224 yr Best friends girlfriend has episodes of sleep paralysis, but very infrequently. She says it's terrifying.
