I don't think there's been a report that Wentz refused to talk to anyone other than Howie.

I Heard Adam Schefter say it this morning on 97.5 with my very own ears broskie.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

The real Carson Wentz trade was the friends we made along the way

Are you going to act like Howie doesn’t leak things to the media to make himself look better, which this happens to be coincidently one day after the trade?

I put a tweet out that contradicts the story. Relax.

Adam Caplan talked about Wentz not talking to Doug weeks ago. Schefter just put it out again. It's subjective I guess because just by being in the same meetings they have technically "talked" to each other at some point.

"You're" was referring to Rob Maaddi, not you. My mistake. Maaddi is very earnest, but his reporting on this has differed from almost every other Eagles reporter and has almost exclusively painted Wentz in a favorable (in my opinion, biased based on his personal relationship with Wentz) light.

LOL more name calling. love it. YOu probably beat your wife and tell her to shut when she acts up. I mean everyone should be put under the thumb right

You really don't know when to quit making yourself look foolish do you. In the very same post you call me out for being a big bad name caller, you then go onto accuse a total stranger of being a wife beater. Think before you post good god.

I dont know anyone here well enough to have feelings for them one way or another.

It's all good to me.

I agree with you on the coaching staff. I don't necessarily think the roster or active players on gamed day was that big of a deal. I think it became problematic because ultimately Doug's relationship with Howie deteriorated. As far as Reagor over Jefferson, I am not sure how much of that is true vs. CYA.  Whether it's true or not, we have to wonder how long Weidl can co-exist with Howie.  If ultimately, Howie does not take ownership of decisions other than to say he was relying on someone else's advice, the people around him will continue to get tired of his finger pointing.

The entire organization doesn’t do well with accountability and ownership for decisions they make. mosher and caplan have also discussed this issue in depth in the past.

Which all starts with Jeff Lurie.  I posted months ago that this team will never get fixed unless Lurie sells the team.

What do you care? The Colts need to do what's in the best interest of the Colts.

Apply this internally.

I care because its amazing to me that a grown man who is clearly the more talented QB cant handle a little competition.

I wonder how the Colts players will like Wentz if they see him get preferential treatment and he doesn't have to earn anything.  Stay tuned...

He could just go back to his crappy movies and leave the football operations to football people and just profit off of his business. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

To see the poise of Hurts and his way of handling things made moving on from Wentz easy for me.

If only we could combine them.

They are the 6th most winningest franchise in the NFL over the last 20 years.

Hey @4for4EaglesNest, what's the over under in minutes before Bacarty asks this other idiot for a combat waiver and to meet up? Also, a secondary bet on when Bacarty asks this guy to make a bet with him on some ridiculous scenario? I'll set the line at 10 minutes...

Wentz is gone.  Doug is gone.  Howie is still here.  What will happen to him?  He is not totally blameless for this mess.

If you had a chance to speak with Howie personally, this would be the conversation in a nutshell — just substitute "problem” for "caretaker”

QBs have egos.

Not really anything to do with egos.  If you're the superior talent and confident in your abilities then you shouldn't worry about a backup taking your job.  At least good QBs don't.

Yesterday Mosher and caplan talked about the Eagles have an issue where they keep having leaks come out for about a decade now. It’s true anytime the Eagles make a poor decision or do a move they think it’s going to be put in a poor light by the fan base they leak his story so that you don’t look as badly upon them for doing what they did. this isn’t just a Carson Wentz thing. This goes all the way back to even McNabb when they treated him they did that. It’s a routine for them

i’m almost positive we have fans in our Fanbase that the Eagles could feed dog crap too and tell him it’s pudding and the fans will just believe it even though it smells like dog crap

Point being?  They are a mess now.  A big reason for that is Andy Reid, who is a lock for the HOF.

If you can't see how bad the Eagles are trending down and the involvement of Jeff Lurie then I can't help you.

Yeah it's a different game these days. 11's no longer your problem.  Blame it on Gene Upshaw. If you went back to no guaranteed contracts, then maybe it would matter.

You're right.  Wish him the best.  Thanks for the SB.

Say hello to the millennial generation. They need to be coddled and protected. They have been all their lives. I hate it, you can hate it -- but if you want to win, you need to understand your players.

That's fine if you want to do that.  But will the rest of the team like the coddling and protecting of certain players?

They are all the same generation, so yeah. It's a generational thing.

Tyrod Taylor would be a good backup. He hasn't been terrible anywhere he's been, was about average in Buffalo

Always liked him, teach the guy how to extend plays rather than run at the first sign of pressure

Meh, Wentz is gone, he'll probably have a nice run in Indy, but will be nothing special, 2020 was an aberration, but so was 2017, after 5 years he is what he is, a good but not elite QB.

Of course the Eagles lack young talent, that's why they're rebuilding. But coaching has been a big issue, outside of the OL, what talent have they developed the last three years?

RB - Scott, WR - none, TE - none, DL - Sweat, LB - Edwards, Singleton, DB - Mills. Good teams aren't built with just the first two days of the draft, they have multiple starters/top reserves that are coached up. I think they had decided to fire Doug, but gave him the interview out of respect for his tenure with the organization, but he was clueless about a rebuild.

In retrospect, since it's now obvious they were prepared to trade Wentz, I doubt they choose Sirianni to "fix" Wentz. He was the first candidate to blow away his interview, and after seeing his coaching staff, I think his vision for a teaching staff that can coach up players for a rebuilding team sold them. You don't hire a HC to fix a QB, then put him into play a week or two later - rather, it's more likely Siri was on board with Hurts over Wentz.

Eagles do their research, given the failure rate of top ten QBs, I'd be surprised if they used #6 on one unless they were absolutely in love, too many other holes. Better off seeing what you have with Hurts.

The key to 2021 is player development, they add some more draft picks and probably have 10 or so in both 2021 and 2022, but the key will be the ability to find players off trash heaps.

The point is pretty self explanatory but since you need me to explain it to you. They have been extremely successful for a very long period of time with Jeff Lurie as the owner. As for the rest of your drivel. After winning the super bowl in 2017, making the playoffs in 2018 and 2019, you are ready to write off the owner because of one horrible season. Completely rational and sensible take. Also, you do realize that Lurie is the one who believed in Andy Reid and hired him as the head coach when nobody else would even give him an interview. Think before you post.
