Can't seem to find any Mac Jones highlight reels. All I see are highlights of DeVonta Smith running around wide open.

Highlight reels are a mistake. Watch games. Plenty with player specific game film are available from 2020 for Jones.  Watch it though, the protection he got from his OL is outstanding.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Figured Id try one out since its all the rage now.

12 players, 7 picks added for 2022 (1st, two 3rds, three 4ths and a 5th)

Pitts to me would be a outside WR in a Mike Evans type of role. Marshall on the inside. Gainwell a key recing back to move around.

It was close to a Winston Justice vs Giants in 07 level game.

I like Mailata but his ability should not effect any roster decision.

No it wasn't. I saw Justice play.

Mailata got beat at times, but often recovered in time to prevent a sack. But this was his first time starting AT ANY LEVEL, in his third season playing football.

Stop and think about that, that's f---- amazing! He not only started, he held his own against NFL pass rushers and dominated DL in the run game.

Yes, he's a work in progress, his footwork and technique need improvement, but that's mostly inexperience, you can see the wheels turning in his head, "is this a stunt," "is he lining up for a speed rush or inside move?" and so on. Right now none of this is second nature. And last year he didn't have mini-camps or exhibition games to work out the kinks.

In two years I predict Mailata will be an All Pro OT at either side. He's the best athlete at that size at OT since Odgen. Tremendous reach and power on the level of prime years Peters. A guy that size shouldn't be able to get to the second level and block people. And he's got Stoutland pushing him to be the best. He makes amazing plays right now, like when he peeled off one block to reach out and hit a blitzer to prevent a sack, or when he caved in the DL on a run play by pushing the DE into the DT. As he gets experience, this will become routine.

What kind of leg work did you do? You can't do squats with only one arm.

air squats, calf raises...very basic stuff just to keep moving.

Lol. Credit for pulling off those trades but I don’t even think you could do that in Madden.

This is exactly what I’m referring to.... Mailata went from a 0-5 in 3 years. That’s great. Doesn’t mean there’s no upgrades available. If Mailata played even two years of college ball he wouldn’t be getting half the love.

I hope Mailata is an All-Pro, but I’m far from coining him the franchise guy on the blindside...

Never. My next goal is to see how many picks I can actually get. Off I go.

PFF gave it a B, but I reckon it gets a A+ from @justrelax

The top two make this a killer draft. Can’t speak intelligently of the rest other than Myers, who’s pretty good.

He’s 21. I’ll give him some time.

Carter Hart has been bad this season. No way around that.

Our offense will be built around broken plays with a low chance of success.  I guess we might as well practice that?

Last one for now, not that anyone cares. Some of the grades on these seem off. Creed and Harris that late are only C's? I don't think so.

I jumped all over the Mailata bandwagon when he was first drafted...to the point that I was disappointed they drafted Dillard, as it meant they were no longer projecting Mailata as the LT of the future.

Then I jumped off this offseason after 2 season ending back injuries (which were real) and a training camp we incessantly heard he was getting schooled by Nasty Nate winner Joe Ostman.  I still thought it was early to shut down the experiment, but I reined in expectations.

His ensuing time at LT was fantastic, considering his experience.  I’d argue he needs to get better with speed around the edge, but he was great.  I think he is an OT of the future and the best, most valuable young player on the team.  And coming from someone who thinks THAT highly of him, the hype was completely out of control.  You are comparing him to Ogden.  We’ve got analysts drooling over Pryor at LT when they forgot Mailata wasn’t playing.  Everyone on the boards acting like a teenage girl at a beetles concert in the 60s every time he blocks someone.  The hype is a bit much.

I guess taking two OLineman early is unrealistic but a mock draft with like 20 picks is... Right on

Mailata is still way overrated IMO.

Got you mofos a franchise QB and 3 first round draft picks next year, let me know when I gotta come in to pose for my statute outside the Linc.

I wouldn't like it at 6 (and have said as much) but if we go the way of trading down, I'm all aboard the Kwity Paye bandwagon.

You're crazy. If Mailata played two years in college, he'd be a top 5 pick in the NFL draft, hands down. Imagine what he'd do to college players on a weekly basis! It would be made illegal.

I mean look what he did to Calais Campbell, a 290 lb 3-4 DE who's been All Pro.

Right now, as raw as he is, he's in the top half of all NFL OTs. Maybe the top 3rd.

"Jordan Mailata was something of a novelty or curiosity when the Eagles acquired him as a former rugby player with incredible physical gifts who had taken up football. He flashed ability in preseason and had to play extensively in 2020 due to injuries along the Eagles offensive line. While there have clearly been some growing pains, he has quietly done a pretty solid job for a guy who is still very much learning the game. Mailata allowed 32 total pressures but was a top-15 tackle by PFF grade from Week 11 onward, just behind Jets first-round rookie Mekhi Becton.

I think it's funny that we assume someone will learn to play the position at a high level just because some of the physical tools are there. He's still raw as hell, and learning the technique to play LT at an NFL level isn't a given. It's easier to learn on the fly at a lower level first (high school FB and then college). That allows you to win some battles and lose some. You gain experience and that develops skill. But going from 0 to 100 is a major challenge for anyone trying to learn a new skill.

He was ranked way higher by PFF at 23 than Tunsil was at the same age. So while you may think he's overrated, people who watch football for a living don't.

PFF isn't the gold standard for player evaluation.
